OCTOBER 9, 2013
Wonderful Wembley
**Spend A Day With Me Next Week On Oct 18Th***
My next seminar is Friday October 18th near Heathrow.
If you want details on how to spend a day with me and live markets email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "October seminar interested" in the subject line and I'll send you details, more details below too.
*****
I look forwards to seeing some of you at my seminar next Friday! You should all have had venue details etc by now, let me know if you haven't for any reason.
Also, those of you who want to fill in the questionaire I sent you please return it to me by this weekend as I'll be devising the seminar over the weekend based on some of the answers I get.
Some very interesting answers so far and thanks for some of the amazing honesty in the answers which will help me take you through some of the mistakes some of you are making on the day.
Last weekend was some weekend, at the end of it I was an exhausted wreck not wanting anything to do with any sport ever again whatsoever.
Friday afternoon we went to support Christopher's school team in a schools tournament.
Trouble is finding where it was.
We parked at the school hosting it. Wandering round the roads trying to find boys playing football and after a hour of wandering through south west London one of the parents guided us in.
We got there just as Christopher was equalising for his team in the final. It was tense and nervous and darn it.. the opposing team hit a lucky shot and it was all over, they won 2-1. Still second out of 8 teams is pretty good.
We then had a race to get to Friday night fives miles away. I got a lift in the school bus with the boys - they dropped us somewhere nearish the place we needed to get to.
Me and Christopher then had to run across a number of fields before getting to the game just in time, Christopher fired in four and the team won 6-1.
Saturday morning was football training. Saturday afternoon was watching a feeble Fulham team being knocked about by a far better Cardiff team.
In the middle of the game there was some kind of fracas in the crowd close to us and we saw ex Labour Leader Neil Kinnock being ejected from the home fans and dispatched to the away end.
Fulham fans are pretty tolerant but really if you're supporting the away team in the home end you should keep quiet!
Sunday morning - you guessed it, another game. The team won 6-2 but their fiery coach still gave them all a b
and Christopher got it in the neck. His coach thinks every game is a world cup final.
And then... onto more football, but this time American football!!
We headed off on the tube to watch a massive American football game played at Wembley.
Someone had kindly given us two freebie tickets. The price on the tickets? Just under £500 ! Each! Can you believe it!
Christopher was in a high state of excitement at going to Wembley and the stadium did not disappoint, it is stunning!
We were ushered to a massive hospitality suite... a four course meal laid on any drinks you like all free (well free to us as we never paid for the tickets)
We had amazing seats right by the half way line. These are totally different to Fulham FC seats. I mean, they are huge, and padded, and you get legroom!
This type of American football isn't really much about football but more about entertainment!!
Tiny Tempah (yes the real one!) did a set before the game, wow, really excellent!
Then the game starts. When I say starts, it never goes on for long. The most play lasts is about a minute. Because much more time is spent on entertainment!
What's going to happen next? Cheerleaders come on and dance. Music blares out at any opportunity. A marching band appears out of nowhere.
For no reason 20 guys dance on waving flags. Flame shoot out into the sky from around the pitch.
Neither me or Christopher had a clue as to what was going on in the actual game.
Each team seems to be comprised of more than 50 players. Teams get totally subbed every few minutes. The whole thing looks like mayhem.
But entertaining? You bet!!
At half time we went to see the current exhibition about champions league winners, some very interesting momentoes.
When we arrived home I could hardly stand after that weekend. I needed most of Monday to recover.
Thank goodness I haven't got a job!
Tonight we're off to the opening night of "The Commitments" at one of the 6 West End theatres my sister owns!
The film was brilliant of course so we expect this to be amazing.. we've also an invite for the after show party at the Ivy (an exclusive celeb hang out.. oooohhh.....)
Full report for you in the next update!
Thanks very much to all of you who wrote to me after the seminar with your kind words. Very glad indeed you enjoyed the day and I'm even seeing a few of you again next week as the follow up, see you there!

Naked Trader Seminar Latest News
Fancy spending a day with me, learning all the ways I have learned over the years to find good shares and play the markets? Well, you can at one of my seminars!
Booking is open for the Naked Trader seminar on oct 18th
Price is £590 plus vat. (Early bird discount is on offer however)
That includes three course lunch, coffees, snacks etc.
The seminar is mainly aimed at beginners and dabblers though improvers are welcome too.
Topics covered using live market feeds all day include: Market psychology, level 2 - a simple guide to how to use it for better timing; how to value companies; finding companies that are about to rise. I will also cover techniques for handling events such as the recent meltdown and volatility.
Spreadbetting: How to use it to gain an edge and go short. Market makers - how they work and how to beat them; how to stop losing money and make it instead and plenty more.
How to plan trade entries and exits - how to research companies and understand reports, plus all those niggly questions you always wanted to ask. How to set stop losses and targets. Charts and how to use them.
Also covered: Market maker tricks: How to spot tree shakes and use them in your favour, How to tell when NOT to buy a share. I use live ADVFN all day with lots of level 2 and looks at all kind of live market data.
The idea behind the seminar is SIMPLICITY. I don't use jargon or fancy words - everything is in PLAIN ENGLISH! No question is too stupid and the event is held in a friendly relaxed and supportive environment.
The idea is you will come away from the event I hope a wise and better investor with lots of new ideas. I try and translate complex topics into easy bite size pieces. I also aim for it to be entertaining as well as instructive.
If you are interested please e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "October seminar interested" in the subject line and I will send you full details of the event including comments from those who have come to previous seminars and you can then decide whether you would like to come. See you there!
One seminar attendee Clare wanted to write a testimonial about her experiences at the seminar which follows now!
"I've just come back buzzing from one of Robbie's seminars. What a day! He's just brilliant, and manages to pack an awful lot into one day, and with his enthusiastic and humorous delivery the day just flies by. There are no gimmicks, no sell, no "˜get-rich-quick' promises, just his own solid, sound approach which he has learnt over the years and which works.
He shows you how to minimise the risks and maximise the profits and points out the banana skins on the way. Where the seminar really comes into its own is when he teaches using live level 2. Hearing him talk through his thought processes and reasoning is invaluable, and really brings home everything from the book. He has endless patience answering peoples' questions, and really seems to care that everybody understands.
On top of that, you meet some really nice like minded people and swap e mail addresses, you're plied with
chocolates and coffee all day, have a great lunch and spend the evening getting tiddled with Robbie in the
bar afterwards! You might even get to see the amazing crocodile boots . . . .
Don't worry about the cost, it's easily worth it, and you'll soon make it back with your new-found investment skills, and in what you're no longer losing. If you're thinking of going along to his next seminar, whether you're a novice or an experienced trader, don't hesitate ""just go!
Thanks Clare, did you want the tenner in cash, or will a cheque do?

Naked Rambling
The UK's tax regime continues to be crazy. More and more rules are added all the time causing much confusion for all.
There are taxes, taxes on taxes, impossible to calculate exemptions, nat insurance calculations...
A lot of people are currently paying 65% tax because of the way the tax is calculated.
The tax offices can't cope with all the work and the child benefit withdrawal means tons more work for them.
Wouldn't it be lovely and amazing to do away with it all and have a flat tax at 30% after a generous inititial tax free allowance?
No more wasting days and days for companies and individuals trying to work out what they owe.
The rise of those joyless self-service tills continues apace and yet we do nothing about it.
This morning I went to the little Waitrose round the corner.
The cashier was having great conversations with everyone, including me. Okay it was smalltalk along the lines of smoothies are actually bad for kids, too much sugar best to give them the fruit itself.
But it was very pleasant, makes you feel part of the community. A lot of older, lonelier folk go in there and enjoy a chat.
What happens soon when there won't be any service. You'll have to scan everything, no one to talk to, no-one will talk to anyone anymore unless it's via handheld device.
This can't be good for society.
Hurrah! Homeland is back.
And it's back with lots of intrigue as usual. Perhaps a tad too much of the angst of the family and the daughter story but otherwise nicely written as usual.
Great performances from the actors, nicely done.
Gradually working my way through the Breaking Bad boxset.
Brilliant series, nearly up there with the Sopranos though not quite yet. Onto series two!
C4 continues to plumb the depths with sex in a box.
Couples have sex in a box then tell how they felt afterwards.
How to fill an hour with that. "Yeah it was great now what we really need is a pizza. Right now!"

"For throwing your heart, soul and energy into one fact-packed, full-on and exhaustingly educational day: FIVE stars with no hesitation!!
Met some really nice people too - like me, nervous that it was the most we'd ever spent on a whole day of anything (had we made arses of ourselves?) But no one felt short-changed, especially when you were still going strong when we all wanted to go to bed! One of your delegates, Susan, back for a second time, said to me unequivocally, "you will go away absolutely inspired." I can't disagree.
Thanks Gary, hope you make some money!
Duane writes:
Wanted to say a big thank you to you and Mrs NT for an amazing day of learning and fun at your seminar.
The way you explained the share trading from start to finish was understandable and really interesting, well worth the seminar fee!
It was great to hear such down to earth and honest assessment from a successful trader like yourself. The way you explained everything was good revision from your book and gave further insight into successful share trading.
I particularly liked your live trades and going through your accounts when you gave snippets of why you invested in certain shares and why you kept/dumped them. Also helpful was the way you searched for prospective shares and within minutes discounted them or put them on a short list for further examination and correct entry points. Amazing!
You could really tell that you loved doing what you do and your energy levels to keep going till 10pm was well....... I had to leave at 9pm I was shattered!
Thanks again Robbie I am keen to put into practice what you have taught me. Even though you make squillions from your trades and I am sure don't need to do the seminars for financial gain, but please keep doing those seminars for newbies like me!
Thanks Duane! Don't expect to be doing them foreever but very rewarding for me to help people so expect to carry on for a while longer.
Gabriel writes:
If you are reading this, you are perhaps considering going on one of Robbie's Seminars. You maybe asking yourself (like I did) the testimonials are all well and good but once the euphoria and excitement of attending a Seminar has died down ..... and I am back home in my normal routine and faced with the "graft" of putting it all into practice... will I become a better trader and be financially better off?
Let me tell you that in my case it certainly has!
Book your place pretty sharpish....... is what I say !
Thanks Gabriel!
Terry writes:
Fantastic seminar.
I have always been sceptical of the public testaments you see on web sites
saying how great an event was. Now I'm one of those people!. I
genuinely believe that the tips and techniques as well as the overall
approach you demonstrated will radically improve my trading performance
Thanks Terry, well all the testaments are real but know what you mean and glad you feel it was worth it!
Stephen writes:
I read your book and did the course - and I wasn't sure if I'd recoup the cost, it's been 2 years and I've made £38k + saved a loss transferring a Jupiter ISA heavily invested in BP. I can't tell you how important this is or how grateful I am. That's just me, who knows how much people have made with your help and saved by not making mistakes. I wanted to get into shares as they recovered after the crunch, but I assumed I had to put a large amount in one company I thought would make a big jump.
But what happens when you make £1m on the website, will you still do courses? I don't know how you do your ISA and SIPP investments, write the website, books, courses and answer e-mails. But please don't give it up. Couldn't you do the courses and have a standing website which gets updated with your trades say once a month so people can see what you do..
Stephen thanks so much for such a nice mail and much appreciated! Dunno about the future, I feel like I'm getting jaded. It's possible I might just reduce it all at some point to twice a month after going weekly - that would probably help. The other problem is other people's angst is getting to me and the email workload becoming overwhelming. I think after ten years it might be time for me to quit. Anyway good luck with your trades and hope you make a lot more.
I have 3 great offers from ADVFN.
ADVFN level 2 offer
First great deal: If you want level 2, through me it is only £350 for your first year including VAT!
This compares to £473 direct from advfn inc vat so this deal saves you over a whopping £120! ADVFN level 2 also includes all the live trades made through Plus Markets which I find invaluable.
To accept this great deal just e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "Level 2 offer" in the subject line and I will tell you how to get it. Level 2 gives you access to all the market maker positions and the order book and I would not trade without it!
More on level 2 in my book and I spend hours on it at my seminars. So if you get level 2 and want to learn how to use it properly live, book my seminar!
ADVFN Bronze Offer
To take up the offer, e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with Bronze in the subject line and I will tell you how to claim the deal.
Bronze is included inside the level 2 deal.
Advfn Silver Exclusive Offer
The deal is via me you can save nearly £30 for your first year by paying just £145 inc vat via me instead of £173.71

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too. This includes asking me what to do with a share, what I might "think" about a share or deconstructing any of the buys I mention here. I would be grateful, see FAQ for more on this. Of course more than happy to answer general questions not related to specific shares.
Obviously some caution required at the moment what with the US shut down and all.
Still I reckon if this had happened a year ago the markets would have sold off for a few hundred points - as it is they're only down a bit.
One wonders if this is a trap for shorters and once it's settled things will roar back up. Maybe next week.
Oh yeah we have to throw in tapering and remember if things are going badly still in the economy then it's good for the markets.
Yes, I agree. The whole thing is bonkers, bananas and totally dysfunctional. But there is is, we have to work with it.
I'm sure as many of you have I've put in for some post office shares.
The main thing for me is I didn't have to actually go to a post office and queue for hours to get them....
I put in for ten grand but I suspect everyone will be scaled down to £750 which makes the whole exercise probably pointless. Alternatively I may get nothing at all which is fine too. Actually maybe I'd rather have nothing than a tiny amount.
We're pretty much guaranteed a 20% profit on opening. Which also makes you think most will take profits pretty fast. 20% on £750 minus selling cost isn't setting the world on fire, still a free £140 or something.
Should we keep them? Well for £750's worth may as well, there'll be a huge dividend.
Buy some in the market on the first day? I just don't know. Maybe it would be a long-term tuckaway - stick in an ISA, take the dividends and forget about them. I guess that's possible but personally lukewarm about it.
You can currently bet on the opening price with IG, type Royal Mail into the search, currently they reckon the market cap at close on day one will be 400m
They also promise you can deal in RM as a spreadbet rightaway which might be the way to do it perhaps for a shorter-term idea. Link is here:

A few interesting trade ideas came up at the follow up seminar I did on Friday. Lovely bunch of people!
Some of the trades were more set-ups for the future but one or two looked worth some action.
I bought some more Fusionex (FXI) on weakness. Got some more at a tad over 303. It has since put out a very excellent market statement.
It's just got its first client in Hong Kong and claims there is "exciting growth" in the Asia-Pacific market.
What I really want for companies I invest in is for them to say things like "exciting growth". Because if they pull it off it'll mean exciting growth in the share price too.
It's the kind of share that could absolutely storm away - of course there are risks too, I would quit if it fell much below 270 for example.
I've tucked away a few Accumuli (ACM) - looks like a nice little growth company, got 30,000 at 16 at the seminar and some more yesterday at 16.19
It's in a sector I like, IT security which I think is a rapidly growing market. The company is growing its shares and acquiring others - and it also generates plenty of cash.
Looks like a nice one in a lovely gentle uptrend from earlier this year. It's also the type of company that could suddenly win a big contract from nowhere.
I'm targetting around 25p on it in time, a potential to double in time I think, and one I'll tuck away and probably forget about. It is surprisingly volatile sometimes so patience and level 2 needed to get a good price on it.
It reported a decent trading statement today, cash balance looks good and the future looks bright.
Interesting to see the spread looks wide at 1p as I write (16.5-17.5) but I did some dummy tries and I could get it at 16.8 so the spread is in reality quite tight.
Blinkx (BLNX) looks an interesting short (that means betting on it to go down) - shorted it a while back from this level with good results - it looks pretty expensive at current highs and could go a bit lower in the blinkx of an eye.
If the market rises strongly then it will probably break up in which case I will exit sharpish. I'm in at 155.5 but I'd use a guaranteed stop on this just on the outside chance if it got bid for I would do my brains on it!
I've also shorted Mothercare (MTC) - looks a bit too highly rated for recovery which I'm not sure is there, in at 374.
Onto some sells and part sells - I'm continuing to take profits on some of the longer-term successful trades. Last time I banked profits of over £32,000 on some longer-termers, and a load more this time.
I've sold the last of the Trifast at 68 for a profit of £2,620 and several thousand more over the last year in profits
I sold off some more of the St Ives, that's three quarters gone now at 180.7 for a profit of £5,842 - and a nice doubling of my money on it!
And I sold off a few Sepura, another I have doubled on selling the top up but keeping my original stake that is gone for a profit of £2,125
Total profit then banked this week is £10,587.
ELSEWHERE.....
A pretty good couple of weeks, considering the market has headed down. Nothing spectacular either.
A couple of reports.
Carpetcrap reported. What a crap statement! They are going horribly badly, so badly the boss has gone and the ex boss has had to come out of retirement to try and help fix things.
I've been short of Carpetshite for ages. I can hardly believe even with this massive warning it didn't go down at least 2 quid. It only went down 70p which does put me in a good profit.
But how can this company which might just make 9m if it's lucky be worth 400m? Well, it isn't and at best a normal rating would put it at 200p. The only reason I can see is that some crazy US funds bought it and won't sell. There aren't any trades in the market and it is hard to short. Also little robots work away keeping the price up. But it WILL crack. I have patience!!
Great statement from my lovely long-term winner Telecom Plus- a sigificant uplift in customers and a rosy future remains.
I sold some off a while back at around 1400 and if I didn't have a ton of them I would probably have bought some back at 1240. Of course as it is I have well over £400 grands worth - most of which is profit. Sadly they are mainly in certificate form so the only shares I'd have to pay tax on if I sell many. I'll probably gradually sell them over the years to use up my CGT allowance yearly. I have got some in my isa and in a long-term spreadbet too.
In the meantime the shares should gradually rise over the years an the dividend keeps on going up providing a very decent income for me. The Times today posed the interesting question: What could go wrong with Telecom Plus. This was hard to find except one day they may run out of customers. Maybe but that day is a long time coming.
The Halfords short trade has worked a treat and now in lovely profits. Another 20 points of downside and I think I might bank. That was a nice one that came up at the September seminar.
Riskier oil buy Caracal looks like it wants to get up and over 500p but it's not sure but still a nice rise for now.
Conviviality and Cohort appear a bit stuck and might need time to get an rerating. Al Noor seems settled in the early 800s
The future continues to looks very bright for Vectura (VEC) which last week reported approval for another of its drugs. Looks like it might not be long now till I doubled up on the first buy. Massive profits now.
Entertainment One, another double continues up as does Avon Rubber, still bounces higher! Communisis has fallen back to around the buy price so a bit disappointing there so far.
Long-termer Filtronic recently reported everything is on track. It doesn't move much as the market is waiting to see how 4G goes. But happy as doubled and quadrupled on it so far.
Hellerman Tyton which had a very decent statement last week. The first lot bought when it listed around 195 are doing nicely so far as it pushes 250 Keep thinking about taking profits in Hellerman but it keeps pushing up.
GB continues to push up and this one has more or less become a doubler for me. Some nice rises this last few days.
Carclo seems to be on the rise again, a long-termer that's doubled and a bit but potential big upside there still.
Oil play Coastal where I've doubled and a half looks like it could be bid for again according to newspaper reports. I'm sure it will happen at some point.
I'm happy I've spent the last month banking some major profits in some of the longer-term ones, it seems sensible.
I've been testing out a new spreadbet firm over the last year. I just won't recommend anything unless I have really tested it over a long time and now happy to endorse it especially for any bets on indicies as the spread is only 0.8 on stuff like the FTSE.
Also they don't seem to do any messing about in stopping winning trades from being executed which has been known with a few of the firms which I totally refuse to endorse.
Execution of trades have been spot on as has account management and a robust system too. I really can't find fault with it.

I've been getting e-mails regarding my use of direct market access and who I use. I've tried a few and for me the easiest system for me is here:
http://www.ig.com/nakedtradercfds
Direct market access means you can place orders directly onto the order book bypassing brokers and market-makers with a chance to buy at the "sell" price. I would suggest you ensure you know what you're doing first but IG does provide much education with its "tradesense" educational tool which comes with it.
I also use its spreadbetting service too along with other firms like Tradefair because it now provides trailing stops which to me is a pretty sensible way of trading. Also with this link there is an excellent education programme and it offers the biggest range of smaller shares.

As usual before opening accounts please read all the warnings on the sites. You can lose a lot of money if you're not careful so pay close attention to them and make sure you always understand what you are doing and what your potential losses are.

Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets
on Wednesday afternoons.
