We are indeed thrilled to have him home.
He is currently in the garden office making tons of cold calls and trying to sell AI to companies.
Quite a tough gig, but he seems to enjoy it.
Unusual for someone his age to cheerfully take nearly all "No's" and having the phone slammed down the other end.
Not sure where he got the risk taking and fearlessness from"¦. (??)
Hopefully all this will come to something for him.
It's tough being his age with no degree trying to find work here, it was much easier in Dubai with many more opportunities.
Being able to pay for anything these days is getting harder.
I tried to pay an invoice for some garden work but wasn't allowed to and had to phone the bank.
Took me 30 mins to get through and another 15 mins of "security"!
Here was one of the questions:
"Exactly how many times have you used your account in the last month?"
I asked my questioner how many times he had used his account in the last month. He said he didn't know!
Idiotic question number 2: "How many storeys are there in your building?"
I said: "Well how do you know how many storeys?"
He said: "I am looking at google maps".
"Well," I said. "If I was a fraudster I could look that up on google maps myself!"
Seems like these security staff think they're amazing detectives"¦
It goes on and on. "What are you spending the money on?"
Tempted to say "Mind your own business", but well. "Work on the garden."
"Do you know the business?" "Have you visited their office?"
Honestly this over zealous drivel keeps going. For a long time.
It really should have been obvious pretty early on I wasn't about to be scammed.
I understand they want to prevent fraud but.. They'd already sent a code, they must know I am calling from my landline and I know my cat's name"¦.
There just seems to be way too much over security now which wastes so much time and energy.
Just booked a flight to Portugal in July.
We're very lucky. A couple we are friends with have splashed out on a massive rental mansion there.
We get our own wing! Ooooh.

Interactive Investor is my favourite, I also have my SIPP with them.
Easy to use, and stop losses work well, plus cheap charges.

Naked Rambling
Just dreadful. Shocking. Awful.
Not just the man but the whole of politics right now.
It's "The Thick of It" on steroids and in real life.
The problem is when they push him out, probably not too long after the drubbing coming in the local elections, who is next to take the poisoned chalice?
Angela Rayner? I would be so ashamed of this country seeing her represent us abroad. Embarrassing.
Ed Milliband? Wes Streeting? All those two care about is being on TV and they both seem a bit bananas.
I hate to be pessimistic but 3 more years of this and we really are in trouble as a country.
There is no vision, no plan, no fight.
The House of Commons is a complete joke.
And even worse the people who want to take over on all sides seem poor as well.
What on earth has happened to us when our leaders and would-be leaders are of such abysmal quality?
Sorry to sound gloomy but"¦ well"¦ I can't see any optimistic way of looking at it for now.
In other almost incredibly stupid news from our dunce chancellor, she wants to tax cash held in shares isas!
She obviously doesn't understand how investments work.
When you sell something it goes into cash in your isa. Till you find something else to invest in.
Why on earth should this cash be taxed! Totally insane. And it doesn't even make much money.
Apparently Reeves has held months of talks to work out the rules, and so far despite all these meetings, no decision has been made.
The answer: Let us hold cash in our isas and pay us some interest like, er.. Now?
She doesn't understand investors will hold cash like investments to balance a portfolio.
Or if there is a market meltdown?
And what about dividends which arrive as cash?
Just like she has never run a business she probably never had an isa and has no idea the problems of running a business or trying to invest.
You can almost certainly guess whatever she comes up with will be fiendishly over complicated and stop people from bothering to invest.
And she wonders why there is a lack of growth in the country.
The message seems to be don't bother to invest or save money for your future.
Oh, and actually don't bother running a business or indeed work at all!
Please someone, anyone, take over? It literally can't be any worse.
Do you use a lot of Marriotts like I do?

Not quite the 5 stars of the last series so far, only because the tense dynamic between older and younger comedians isn't there anymore, it's a bit too nice this time.

After one episode I will try another but it doesn't seem sure whether it's a comedy or drama.
But it's vaguely entertaining so might be worth a shot.
THE BOYS **** Amazon
The last series of the Boys is simply great entertainment.
Homelander is getting crazier and can he be stopped from being Donald Trump on steroids?
Some very clever and witty dialogue alongside some decent action. Hard not to like.
BEEF **** Netflix
Gave up on series one but this one is way better and if you're missing White Lotus, this really has White Lotus vibes.
It's even set at a posh fitness club full of people paying $300,000 joining fee.
Cue how horrid rich people are and how money doesn't buy you happiness and all that.
If you enjoyed The White Lotus you'll definitely like this.

There are some risks taken by the makers which I appreciate and it does have a different vibe.
Some pay off and some don't but that's helped by the short episodes.
Given the ambition behind it, worth a look.
Football club Tottenham Hotspur is advertising for a psychologist to help the team avoid relegation.
I have applied for the job and I think I can help.
My first piece of advice is:

Jeremy Clarkson's very funny take on farming is just out and is already in the top 20 books.
The latest escapades from the Diddly Squat farm.
Lovely entertaining writing while also giving the lowdown on all the hardships faced by farmers.

COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

Another couple of weeks of volatility.
But overall? Probably if you had a decent portfolio of shares hindsight for now shows us it might have been better just to hang onto them.
And as I mentioned over the difficult weeks, when things look bad it is probably a time to buy rather than sell.
I know it's counter intuitive but it tends to work.
I did the live radio show for fun more than anything else really.
But actually I got a bit of a surprise.
Because I had to research ideas people had sent in beforehand, and then on the day too, together with looking at shares reporting that day, loads of ideas opened up.
So as well as having great fun doing it, it has benefited me personally and I haven't taken a single ad, or taken sponsorship or any money from doing it at all.
In fact it costs me in rights and equipment and prizes.
There we are then, an actual benefit to me I had never expected.
Indeed I am still going back over it picking up on stuff that happened on the show.

So, here are a few trades I made, some definitely came from the show, or research I had to do for it that I now as a lazy fat cat would never have done otherwise.
First off is Gamma Communications which was my "Share of the Day" on the show.
Here's what I said about it on the show:
"Gamma communications which provides business critical communications tech has been a terrible performer over the last year or so but there are now two reasons for buying it near its lows
Firstly pe is now under 9 with its statement saying strong growth driven by a strong performance in Germany.
It also has a very small net debt after a big acquisition but second it has pretty much put itself up for sale and at this current valuation you can see why someone might want to swoop in.
Gamma says it is in preliminary discussions with a number of interested counterparties with a view to establishing whether such Potential Offerers might be willing to put forward a proposal that would deliver greater value to shareholders than pursuing a standalone independent strategy.
Discussions with the Potential Offerers are at an early stage and as such, there can be no certainty that an offer will be made for the Company, nor as to the terms on which any such offer might be made.
Chances are at the price there could be an offer at a decent premium and even if there isn't the shares now look pretty cheap so either way could be some nice upside for the patient among us.
Shares are currently rising slowly, so I am hopeful of a take out here. Preferably fish and chips.
SRT Marine Services popped up during the show from Nicolas.
He said on the show:"Considering what's currently going on in the world, I see this small cap as having a bright future.
They supply systems for sovereign civil defence maritime surveillance and navigation safety. Recent results show 95% revenue increase, 48% profit increase and 42 Million in cash. Currently they have an active order book of 350 Million."
Since the show the company has raised over £17m in an oversubscribed fund raise.
You'd have thought while the world has its terrible troubles that the company should gain business, institutions are obviously supportive given the fund raise.
Looks to me like one to be in, with the proviso some patience will be required.
I bought two companies that got hit by the war news, Globaldata and Craneware.
I bought these two a while back but did a Get Out Quick on both as war hit.
Now, I reckon they are both worth another go.
I did cover them in depth, so you can click on the archive which saves me the bother of going through them again!
But both look oversold, and seem to be going places with room for upside.
I picked up some Elixiir, horrible name but I think it's a decent under the radar company.
In a statement a few days ago it claims its AI enabled tech driven advisory services is growing very well.
There was a 38pc increase in profits and a 24pc dividend rise.
It says its agile model positions it strongly for an AI enabled consulting market.
Its ambition is obvious after a transition to the main market which could sooner or later see it join the FTSE 250.
As always I like topping up on winners and I have topped up on Seraphim Space Trust, Bloomsbury and Filtronic.
These were discussed a few times on the show.
The space trust seems to have many fans among my readers from the feedback I was getting.
Shares in this are currently on a major rise upwards.
Here's Fiona who commented on it during the show:
"Seraphim Space Investment Trust (SSIT). I've been in this for a few months and it's gone up nicely. The trust invests in stocks where space tech is being used/developed for defence and commercial purposes here on planet earth - so next generation GPS, satellite, radar and so on. What it doesn't do is invest in space travel and people going to Mars for a holiday.
Buying with a medium - long term view, I am happy to hold in my SIPP.
The shares currently have a rocket up them!
Bloomsbury came up on the show as a possible top up.
I literally only noticed it briefly live on air and noted it was starting to race up.
Which led me to the top up.
A quality company, the publisher of Harry Potter, which always seems to produce an "ahead of expectations" statement.
Not sure what's behind the rise but maybe another decent statement is coming"¦
And back into space what can we say about the performance of Filtronic, I just had to top up.
I didn't expect them to be 270p this fast after buying them in the 40s!
I am sure most of you know the story.
Very hard if not impossible to value so expect volatility and perhaps one where a very loose stop loss is needed.
I've cut half of the Diageo short which has proved a fantastic short, profit for the website on one of the two shorts is just over £4,000.
Well, it has been a great couple of weeks with most of the portfolio moving up strongly.
Special mentions for YU, Me but not Them.
Me Group is moving up nicely most days, and YU is moving close to all time highs and there is a massive dividend to be paid out shortly.
MHA Group is going nicely as is FRP.
MS International, which after lots of top ups over the years is now a massive holding has seen some good gains.
And despite some obvious profit taking, the shares seem to want to go even higher.
An under the radar smaller defence play, it has actually appointed a broker which means it is possible we may start to get more news than just twice a year!
It is rather tempting to start banking some of these big profits but.. Well.. running profits tends to be more profitable than banking them quite often.
Given the orange one is unpredictable I might come to rue that choice.
But in the end you'd think he'd want to make a deal but expect a lot of bluster and counter bluster between the idiotic narcissistic men in charge in both countries.
There are 5 more trades (3 Uk and 2 US )but I have to save those for my subscribers, after all they have to get something extra don't they.

Boy, what a gripper!
Definitely makes me glad I never ended up on a trading floor.
The cast of real-life characters there is not a pretty one!
Full time traders seem to be either alcoholics, drug abusers, loners, weirdos, passive-aggressive alpha males, know it alls or just a bit barmy.
And they are all certain of their own brilliance...
Frankly just check any of the discussion forums, all these characters are there..
Anyway, super read and a must buy for anyone interested in trading!

I've enjoyed reading "The Psychology of Money".
It's a best seller deservedly with 19 stories exploring how people think about money.
if you want to better with how you invest, trade or spend money it's a very worthwhile read!

Just a 0.6 spread for the FTSE which is fantastic and the best I've found.
Spreads on FTSE 100 and 250 stocks are really tight, I shop around SB sites when I am about to trade for the best spread and this one keeps coming out the best.

I've finished the book on AI - "The Coming Wave".
It's a must read for any investor - I've learned a lot, the writer co-founded Deepmind, one of the world's leading AI cos.
It's fascinating, some of the conclusions are scary and it's good to try and understand it, though in the end he concludes AI will being a lot of benefits. It will also drive some shares down and some up.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
