FOLLOW UP/Advanced: December 8th: Only for those who've been to a starter seminar previously. Lots of live trading, level 2, research plus your ideas discussed, how to play Xmas rally, broker notes, and lots more. Email with "follow up interested" in the subject line.
Well, I have enjoyed chatting to so many of you in the last few days both at the beginners and the advanced online seminars.
So many interesting discussions on all kinds of shares. And lovely to chat online with many of you I have met in real-life at the hotel seminars. Look forwards to meeting you in real-life soon.
Though for now I don't feel confident enough to go back to the hotels just yet as winter could bring more covid and flu outbreaks and would hate to book then cancel it. So online for some time yet. Next beginners/improvers is Nov 3rd and the next follow up sometime in December TBC. Mail me if interested in Nov 3rd at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "Nov seminar interested" in the subject line.
Well done to Andy for winning best share of the day competition, the £100 prize should be with you!
Thanks for the comments on the FT podcast featuring an interview with me. I didn't realise it also did a page on me as well.
A week later I get a mail from the FT saying if I wanted to feature the interview on my website or send it in emails, there was a charge! A grand for 4 weeks or 2 grand for a year. Oh, and a grand for sending it to 1,000 emails.
Well, I hadn't any intention of linking it or sending it out as I get enough emails as it is and hardly ever do interviews or seek publicity but I never realised this kind of thing went on.
I would have assumed you could stick a link on for nothing or copy it in an email. At first I thought "What a cheek". Then I realised of course it has a paywall.
Then I thought, ok fair enough. Then how interesting! This must be a big business.
Newspapers behind paywalls must contact people they did a nice article on and hope they pay up to add the link to their website or social media. Fascinating! I wonder how much income they make from this.
Presumably someone's job must be to go through every article and see if they can bag some cash from those featured. I want newspapers to continue to exist so after initial surprise good luck to them!
We had a tough couple of days when one of our loved cats went missing. She's a sweet Persian who never went out the front before and knew nothing about cars and the dangers.
She jumped out of a window the cleaner left open. We put posters out everywhere and hunted around. When I put a picture of her on a local website I collapsed in tears. They really do become part of the family don't they.
Then two days later just before it went dark and it was quiet when people watch the soaps we went out calling her. I thought I heard a miow - then I saw her hiding in a bush about 8 houses away. The relief! She was so traumatised. She slept pretty much for two days straight and even then was still stressed and terrified.
She is just about starting to get back to normal now and I suspect if she sees an open window again, she won't be heading off.
Reminds me when I was a journalist I sold a story to The Sun about a woman whose cat went missing and she had to call off her honeymoon to wait at home to see if it came back.
The headline?
"Honeymoon is off - my pussy is missing."
I've discovered a local deli does brunches and breakfasts. You'd never know they did. It just looks like a deli that does pasta and bits and pieces.
OMG. 10/10 breakfasts. Poached eggs to perfection. The owner pops into the back and cooks it all fresh. Little waiting and he does the lot. Also does a great avocado on toast with eggs on top. And he takes cash.
No way am I telling you where it is. There's only eight seats going and I don't want to go in there and all the seats are taken. Don't ask, as not telling. (Well maybe a grand in notes I could be persuaded).
A pleasure to meet so many of you online recently. I love the fact there is such a diversity of people. All ages and stages of life from gardeners, accountant, military, police, pilot, scaffolder. Great thing about trading is it doesn't matter who you are anyone can try it. No qualifications required which is just as well as I don't have any!
I was surprised at the amount of interest in spreadbetting and level 2 and you really quizzed the boss of a spreadbetting company! The day flew by, it was an interesting day to look at live markets and between us I think we came up with some good ideas.
If you missed the seminar as it ended up sold out have fixed the date for the next one which is November 3rd - email for me for details if you fancy a day with me and live markets.
And thanks so much for the feedback such as this from Phil:
"The seminar was delivered with huge integrity (there was Zero hidden agenda/ulterior motives, it was simple and open with some great laughs thrown in)
As much as I found myself trying to complicate the process and make it more sophisticated in my own tiny brain.
You brought it back to, Keep Things Simple. Do Your Own Research. Trade without emotion and above all, trade the market you find"¦ not what you or some pundit thinks it should be.
You also took the time to answer "every" question anyone posed. And it was every question.
Loads of shares ideas to boot, but more importantly the process to find your own.
Brilliant!
Big thanks also Elizabeth, you made the whole process seamless and free flowing; and kept the attendees and Robbie on course."
Thanks Andrew - we have got rather experienced at running them on zoom now!
Claire mailed me with some feedback on the seminar which she attended.
"Thanks for a fantastic seminar, I learned a lot and got every question I could think of answered. I think the most beneficial thing to me was just seeing with my own eyes how you go through the process of picking shares to buy and witnessing your thought process as you go through and also being able to ask questions as they arise. The system you and Elizabeth have for answering all the questions is fabulous & means you depart the maximum amount of information that is humanly possible in one day! The next day I just wished I was doing the course again instead of going back to work as it seemed dull in comparison."
Thanks Claire! It was a lovely group with a great sense of humour.
Jas, thanks for your mail as you've been to two zoom seminars.
"Just wanted to say thank you for a couple of wonderful seminars.
Your seminars were brilliant. Delivered methodically and with just a simple honest approach to dealing with the markets. You've helped me immensely in sorting my trading plan out and finding a good and profitable way to trade. After many months trying to figure out level 2, you sorted that out in one afternoon.
Since the seminar, I have placed 5 trades, 2 have closed out with profits and 3 are still running with profits. All trades placed using fundamental research and not Youtube videos
from David:
"Well it doesn't happen often, but I am absolutely speechless! I don't think I have ever spent a more worthwhile day nor spent money more wisely and gladly.
I for one was practically at the point of orgasm all day in my enjoyment and appreciation of what you were presenting! Even though I have read NT time and again, to see you going through the process of stock assessment over and over was incalculably useful and I managed to take six A4 pages of notes during the day. I was fascinated to learn about (and see) Level 2 in action and learn more about Spread "˜Betting'.
I thought the presentation balance was perfection, and Elizabeth was a complete star with her very well-judged handling of the questions....
.....This is a rather long-winded way of saying thank you so much to both of you - today was one of the top five most enjoyable days of my life, and I greatly look forward to joining you again!"
Naked Rambling
If the interviewer manages to get a question in during an unexpected pause just ignore it and plough on. Remember to repeat a few key phrases as the public has a short attention span and only remember the odd headline. 13,000 word essays? Ha, those are for losers!
The Tories are going to win again simply because Boris is someone you'd want to go to the pub with. Even if you are a Labour supporter you'd still probably rather go to the pub with him than Lord Keir.
UK voters are always going to vote for the affable person. So if Labour wants to win, find a leader that people would like to go to the pub with!
I did listen to both speeches and in both cases there were loads of words but nothing concrete. It seemed simply the battle of two after dinner speakers.
I suspect a few people are quite happy about petrol shortages. What a great excuse it is for avoiding that event you didn't want to go to.
Night out with the boring couple you met at the school gates? "Sorry, no petrol".
Invitation to a dinner party where you wouldn't know anyone and you forgot how to smalltalk? "Sorry out of petrol".
You can use this excuse for anything you want to get out of. And if this doesn't work "Well you could take the bus" then remember the great fallback. "The cleaner went positive for Covid so better not take any chances."
LuLaRich (****) Amazon
Surprisingly entertaining doc about a pyramid selling scheme in the states selling leggings which grew from nothing to be worth billions out of nowhere. Set up by two mormons whose every word is a convincing lie, it rose across the US with mainly white women selling leggings but mainly recruiting others to sell them
As the company overgrew the product cheapened and the massive family of mormons couldn't cope with it - soon retailers wanted refunds. One women suddenly realised "Oh no I joined a cult." I won't reveal anymore but enjoy four mesemerising episodes!
Vigil (**)
Overall ended up a bit disappointing. Captain Johnson off Peep Show proved the most hapless captain of the most hapless crew in a kind of "Carry On Up My Torpedo" style.
Meanwhile our heroine copper ended up about to drown in a tube looking immaculate.
The villain at the end couldn't really explain why he kept killing, the motive was? But I guess if you could turn a blind eye to it there was some entertainment. I think I'd be a bit annoyed if I was in the navy though.
Ridley Road (****)
This replaces Vigil as the Sunday night BBC drama and it's much better. It's all about the anti-Jewish campaigns in the early 60s which I am ashamed to say I knew nothing about.
It is a great period piece, lots of stunning depictions of the early 60s, the clothes, the shops. The show seems to make the point one of the reasons for the rise of the far right at that time was simply jealousy of Jewish people. They were clever, and forward thinking which led to all the jealousy.
Hollington Drive (***)
Is every drama going to have a road or street in the title? It doesn't matter much what happens in this one as the plot isn't important. It's another ITV series with the most amazing show kitchens and gardens. Property porn. Can the actors get out of the way?
Wow, look at that table top. How do they get the whole place to shine like that. I wish my house looked so beautifully arranged with nothing out of place even with kids running around. Also, how does a teacher afford it, they must be getting paid more these days and did you see those lamps in the head teacher's immaculate office? PS will ITV ever give a new unknown actor a chance? They seem to use a pool of about 15 actors.
Blankety Blank BBC1 (*)
FFS! New ideas anyone? Sale of the Century next?
Graham Norton BBC1 (**)
I find chat shows a bit too luvvy but thought I would try. I was shocked by the laziness of the whole thing. Norton seemed to be running on autopilot reading very weak "jokes" from the autocue. This was followed by some incredibly tedious luvvy chat though the upside was I drifted into a lovely sleep.
A Family Man (**) Amazon.
Some nice ideas - but over smaltzy movie about a guy and how his sick kid made him realise there is more to life than work.
Billions (****) Atlantic
The favourite show for traders! It really picked up even with Axe in quarantine. Goodness Axe really didn't see that coming when all his enemies mounted a coup which worked. But as always with Billions there will be another twist. One suspects Axe will find a way to stay out of jail. We also have Axe's romance with Wendy which can only end explosively. (Please no close ups of that).
I've just patented a new product to take advantage of forthcoming Xmas shortages.Yes folks you may not be able to buy a turkey for your xmas lunch.
Don't worry - you can soon buy the naked trader "Xmas lunch in a can". It's all there - just empty contents into the microwave for four minutes and serve.
Turkey, sprouts, parsnips and roast pots all there in a lovely mash topped with bisto. Satisfaction and farts guaranteed. Just £39.99. There, Xmas done.

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too.

COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

There is a new episode of the "Naked money" podcast. A series where I teach a novice trader how to do it and
every week we pick a share.
The new edition is available whereever you get your podcasts under "Naked Money"

!!!
It's new!! Podcast no 5 is ready!

Includes lots of chat about shares, scams, how to be a dragon to make money, plus a £100 competition, top tens, spot the intros, nostalgia corner and loads of laughs. Plus experienced investors have tips for beginners and investment ideas - settle down and spend
some time with the Naked Trader!
After a pretty benign and frankly very easy year where making money has been easy like Sunday morning (unless the cleaner is here) markets in smaller shares went all Pete Tong and it's all much harder.
Some midcap and small cap shares started to get a tonking (is that a word?) meanwhile it got hard to balance that out by shorting because the main indices didn't go down much because they are top heavy with companies that benefit from a falling pound.
Part of the reason is all the problems that have arisen this past two weeks with logistics problems, petrol queues, food shortages and all kinds of grim warnings about how crap the run-up to Xmas will be. Oh and don't forget China, inflation and you name it, overall crapness.
However interesting to note whenever the ftse dips to much below 6950, the wall of cash comes in, time and time again. Amazing!
After a meltdown earlier in the week, a strong rise today. When will the wall of US money stop coming in? And why am I complaining about it?
As someone who tries to run profits, buy decent companies and generally leave everything to run with trailing stops the recent sell off did cause me and I am sure, you, problems. Trouble is when turbluence comes, and it might last a while you need a strategy. If you just sit there and say things like "It will all come back" or "it's ok I will hold this share till my dying breath" you could watch your money disappear faster than (I couldn't think of a simile here so would you mind just making one up?)
Which of my shares might get hit soon by a warning that all these logistic problems could suddenly cause them difficulties that weren't expected?
I realised I might have to shift my lazy arse and actually consider each share and try to figure which might get affected. But also, might this just be a short-term blip, and just stay holding and not worry or is this the start of a major slowdown/sell off?
If only I know and I don't. However I am generally safety first and decided to simply topslice/sell 25% (ish) of most. And on top lob on some FTSE and Dow shorts. Which leaves me with about half a million in cash which I am going to leave there to buy up cheap stock should a crash happen.
It seems sensible. I have made an absolute fortune this year so why not bank some of it?
Paper profits are only, well paper profits.
As you know I stay away from BB's discussion forums as they seem mainly populated by loons, crazies, alpha males, over-confident alpha and beta males, and some who are probably still at school.
Main problem with them is we humans are pack animals and can't help following other people especially if they seem plausible. I include me in this btw - you could easily lose trying to follow me.
Then the trouble is the commentators will carry on being confident about shares that are tanking suggesting their followers buy more cheaply. Said followers will take heart and so not take losses on the tanking shares, perhaps indeed buying more - and that is even after something like a profit warning.
When the bb contributors are challenged about holding onto big losers they bring out the big gun which is the flawed (to me) "I will hold the share for years and it doesn't matter what the price is now."
Trouble is, it may be true for some shares but also some shares will continue down and in some cases even go bust.
I can't even tell you how many people I have met at hotels or online who have followed someone on a forum, especially the mad forums and ignored warning signs and bought the "hold the shares for ever" argument.
One bloke lost a fortune trying to hold Flybe for ever which went bust. (His story is detailed in Naked Trader 5). Another came to a seminar said he lost £70,000 on Revolution bars. Another did his brains on NMC.
Then there someone who lost £100,000 on Stanley Gibbons. Someone else is currently £120,000 down on Boo Hoo. I don't know what to tell them. Any kind of stop or trailing stop would have got them out. You have to control and manage trades or else they end up controlling you. Shares may come back, but may not. They all followed BB people.
My sympathies and understanding to all who've lost paper profits recently.
It is so frustrating to see profits disappear made over time. And despite the fact I sold up a lot of things in the last couple of months my isas are well off the highs though not terrible given I did take some action before the sh1t really hit.
But - do not panic! If it helps hard periods like this are usually short-lived. And if you
did hold onto your favourites and you know they are good value and not so badly effected by logistics etc, then it is possible holding on may work. But remember markets and people are bonkers and there isn't a "right" answer.
I suggest take a look at each share you have. Pretend you are a new buyer and have no attachment to them. Look carefully. Has there been any kind of warning? If there has been a warning of any kind at all already get out! Is the share likely to be affected by poor logistics, the oil price rise or energy problems? Did they have a covid bump unlikely to be repeated? Then think carefully. Does it have a massive debt? Has something changed, are things not going as well as they were?
If they have none of these problems, or likely to, fundamentals are good, the rating is
not expensive, there is low debt, or net cash then eventually the value will come out and the shares will go back up.
So currently I am not much of a buyer and mainly shorting except...
We had a share of the day vote at the online seminar last week which was won by Andy Harris with Argentex. AGFX. (I hope you got the £100 prize in your bank account Andy).
Reason for buying in the end was it looked a lot cheaper compared to other peer shares in that sector. I got a few on direct market access.
It's in the foreign exchange business which in the event of market falls should still do well as its services will still be in demand.
If you compare it to other companies in its space it is rated much cheaper. (Stocko has a great compare shares in same sector tool - stockopedia.com/nakedtrader for 14 days free trial).
It has also a decent cash pile too and anything around a quid or under and it looks very decent value.
I also bought some Watches of Switzerland. WOSG.This also came up at the seminar and it might seem an odd one. However, luxury watches are having an incredible time.
Indeed even when people struggle for money they STILL buy top notch watches and actually it's quite clever, they have great resale value and there are even profits to be made on second hand ones.
I can see why it has a high rating - the key to an even bigger rating is how well it ends up doing in the USA. Like a Rolex these shares might be worth hanging onto for a few years. Tick tock.
Remember last time I talked about selling shares you have done well on the day before a statement. Because they go down on the day of the statement even if it is cracking as people bank profits.
And if you have a share that has gone down a lot buy or buy more the day before (but only if the fundamentals are decent, no warnings and you expect a reasonable statement).
I did this with Sureserve SUR which kept tanking. Couldn't figure out why. The last top up I had on it got taken out by a stop for a loss of £309.
However I bought back yesterday knowing the statement was today and could see no reason why it was going to be bad and indeed it is bouncing today on a perfectly decent statement showing there wasn't much reason for it to go down in the first place. Hope this can now stay as a long-term decent hold. No reason why it shouldn't head back up to the 100p area. I see a director has bought a decent amount today. A boring but should still be a long-term winner.
I added more Telecom Plus (TEP) . A long winded piece from me in the last update if you want to read up why I am buying. Martin Lewis the money guy had this in just three companies you could still switch to a price capped tariff. (It trades as Utility Discount Warehouse). The rise in wholesale gas prices does not affect it financially indeed should help as lots of customers looking for a new home. With good quality service and people also add broadband, sim, mobiles, insurance it looks a winner out of the situation.
If you want to sign up to Utility Discount Warehouse and give me some commission as been a distributor for many years the link is here
https://uw.co.uk/join?position=237058
Once there click "not with a UW partner" and follow instructions. If prompted for partner details it is robbie burns no 237058. Let me know if you do it on that link then will add you into the subscription email list where you get this website stuff send directly to your email. A further benefit for you!
I don't get the financials of Aston Martin. The cars are fabulous but I can only see very poor financials and can't understand the valuation at all.
It's making losses and its balance sheet doesn't look that great either the only reason I think maybe it stays high is blokes who can't afford one buy the shares instead, at least they can say they kind of own Aston Martin.
So I've shorted the shares - if the shares get a proper rating they ought to go a lot lower but like any short I'll take a loss if the market decides I'm wrong.
A brave online seminar attendee came up with a short idea I liked Gym Group. As we discussed the lockdown probably means people wonder whether they really need a gym?
They can just for for a run in the street and just have a few weights at home. The Gym Group's finances looks like they need some extra weight. I reckon anyone buying them is a right dumbell. A short it is.
I have shorted Boo Hoo. This came up at the online seminar where we discussed it. It isn't one I have really looked at much as always steered clear of clothes and fashion retailers as they seem hard to value.
It is a short-term idea as the shares may well bounce but it seems it has quite a few troubles - the cash pile especially appears to have shrunk (like the cleaner who manages to shrink every single pullover owned). Asos, which pretty much does the same thing has also tumbled so there must be something up in online clothing. Frankly it isn't my area so not sure what the problems are. I have a trailing stop on it, currently 318p if you want to know. I'd move that it if moves down. Targetting get out probably around 165-170p. They must be worth at least that even taking current troubles into account.
Kingfisher where I made lot of money before also came up - doubled my money on it last time but right now it looks like a short with a much higher rating. But the covid bump has come and gone and with financials back to more normality it can't be worth quite so much.
You probably noticed in the last two updates I've been doing a lot of selling up and banking profits and losses. I've carried on and pretty much sold part of nearly everything to go into now over half a mill cash.
Problem is your share can be good quality but it could still tank in a down market and it could be a long time before it bounces back. Having cash also means you can buy back at great prices once it is done.
It's just too hard for me for website purposes to go through every share and cut it so assume I have cut most. Can you imagine me telling the webmaster to bank profits of 30% of everything. He would never talk to me again. So consider these the major sells and assume most of everything has been cut a bit.
It's hard to sell things at a loss recently bought, but I am your man. Women find it easy to do blokes harder - blokes just won't sell at a loss. Crystallises a mistake. "I'll wait till it goes back up" But what if it doesn't? You'll never sell then especially once you are down more than 25%.
I had bought UPGS as a longer-term idea, actually thinking it was defensive till the latest crisis started. I wondered if it might struggle to get its goods out. I wasn't sure so waited to see if there was any selling action. Suddenly there was and level 2 began to fill with sellers so my mind was made up for me for a loss of £330 . Of course maybe it won't be affected at all, if not hopefully will be a chance to re-enter. As I like this one the other thinking is if I didn't get out early it might be hard to get out on further dips. I do think it is better to get out, take a loss then later maybe if there is some buying action buy back in rather than average down. I would like to buy back soon.
I really think companies should make statements if their shares have been going down. Either "No reason they are going down we are doing fine or... Yes we have run into some problems which are these.."
Otherwise as an investor how do we know? How do we know if our fave share is going down because there really is a problem or just scared sellers/stops being hit.
Come on companies - update us more often! Especially if the share price is tanking.
Given logistics is a major problem right now it was easy to get something with "Logistics" in the actual title so all of Clipper Logistics has been sold, protit £3,898. A view to buying back should the crisis ease.
As they are actually all spreadbets, I hadn't noticed some of my ITV shares had been auto sold on a trailing stop so for website purposes I've closed out the more recent trades I still have quite a bit bought in the 60s though. Profit £5,855
A lot hit trailing stops banking profits automatically. So here we go: IG, profit £2,050,
Caretech £540 profit Rbg (half) profit £4,000. RMV profit £390,
ccc profit £8,920, all profit £1,360.
Some small Beg went on a tl as well profit, £1537. Ttg profit £5039. And the last 888 top up profit £440. Kept holding my main bulk of both Beg and 888 though.
Those profits and losses all add up to a banked profit of £33,700. A reminder most of this is part profit taking rather than all.
Phew, there might be one or two more but that has taken me bloody ages can I get my life back. I will hand on to Des to do the tables but I suspect he might be some time.
Elsewhere K3C tried to dip but that did not last long which is a very good sign that there may be further gains to come. Potential bid target I always think.
Solid State looks rather strong and has raced over a tenner. Much more and I will have doubled!
You may think I am being ultra cautious but been in this game for decades and so been through sell offs and every time would have been better to act early. I don't have the fear of missing out on further gains and I don't want to have to wait for ages for prices to come back.
I suspect beginners should just sit and watch for the mo - but the upside of downside is there could be some nice prices to buy in at some point.
Indeed my ideal scenario would be a slow down market till early December then pile in for a massive Xmas rally.
Also remember down markets generally don't last that long.
And who knows? Maybe I am too cautious, everything will rise on covid being banished and I wish I had never heard of a trailing stop loss! But even if the shares hit all go back to where they were there really is nothing wrong with banking some profits.
There is never ever a right answer to anything in stock markets. But if you have exit plans, try and stick to them. And I know that is hard.
I've been asked a lot the last couple of years about Sharepad/Sharescope and whether it is worth subscribing. I ignored all the mails thinking "can't be bothered".
But at last have given it a go and like it. I think I will run it alongside the brilliant stockopedia.
It has lots of great research tools, it is well laid out and it has pre-tax profit forecasts which I find very handy. You can also upgrade to level 2 and real time prices.
For more, including a video on what's offered plus a no quibble 30 day money back guarantee and a big discount go to this link:

Money Week offer:
Money Week is a decent magazine which I get as well as the IC.
Shares wise there are quite a few features every week including what a fund manager is buying, all the tips from the papers are covered including places like the Telegraph, Times, Mail, Shares Mag etc and also IPOs are covered.
There is also a decent property and travel section. Also coverage of topics like pension planning, tech, spending and current and future economics.
The kind of mag I enjoy reading in the bath and I always find something that makes me have a think, and that's quite hard for me..
On the link there is also a decent discount so it's around £28-£32 for 13 issues depending on whether the mag is sent to you by post or digital or both. Personally I like an old fashioned mag for bath reading!
So- if you want the free six weekly issues and a discount the link is here:
https://www.moneyweek.com/TNT
Do let me know if any probs with getting the discount or freebies.
Spreadco is still paying 2pc interest up to £20,000 free cash which I enjoy getting and as we saw at the seminar its spreads on ftse 350 shares and the ftse always seem to be tightest.

**NEW OFFER: Research tree discount offer: 20pc off.***
As most of you are aware I don't take ads or recommend anyone apart from the
couple of firms I use all the time and trust.
I could probably make millions from agreeing to deals offered by forex cos,
dodgy systems et all. They're all con merchants and I would never ever sleep
at night if I just took their money, so I don't much to their bewilderment! That's
why you don't see any ads on the website.
However I actually approached a company to suggest I recommend them as long
as they gave my lovely readers a decent discount and it agreed.
The site is called research-tree and I really can recommend it as it is a big
help and complements the brilliant stockopedia, the only other site I recommend.
It is very hard as an investor to get hold of brokers notes/recommendations, their
in depth research on companies. Either it is expensive or there are silly rules re who
can access them.
So this site has broker notes on companies, plenty of in depth research. You can find things such as pre-tax profit forecasts and the most shorted companies. There's an easy search facility and also a news feed.
So for example on the morning of a share result or statement you can get a broker report on that share, it is really useful! Broker reports are usually very in depth and I especially like being able to see a full year pre tax profit forecast which seems impossible to get elsewhere.
You can get a limited free account - for full access if you like it - click "upgrade" and there is a 20 per cent discount if you type nakedtrader into the discount code box.
The address is research-tree.com - for the discount remember the code nakedtrader after you ask to upgrade. If you upgrade let me know if the upgrade thing works well and is easy or if you encountered any probs getting the 20pc off.
For small caps try http://www.spreadex.com/nakedtrader. Spreadex say for the moment they will carry on with most of the shares so that could be another place to deal in shares IG won't.
Trades made for my sipp are exclusively available on my
email service (this is the website stuff plus exclusive trades mailed
to you earlier on update days). For subscription details mail me

If you are thinking of A ftse trade try https://www.spreadco.com/nakedtrader
as their spread is the tightest at 0.8. Also very pleased with execution - FTSE cos the cheapest spreads there too.
It is hard to find a firm that does prices on the very small companies but this company does: https://www.spreadex.com/nakedtrader

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
