Includes lots of chat about shares, fun, competitions, a chat with Claer Barratt from the FT, how to be a dragon to make money. Plus I am joined by AI robot Eli who wants to kill humans and take over the world.
Look forwards to meeting those of you coming to the online seminar on the 9th.
Be sending you a questionnaire a few days before, be grateful if you can fill it out, gives me some ideas of what you'd like me to cover live.
Just hope it comes up with as many great shares as the recent hotel one.
If you'd like to spend the day online with me mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "on line seminar interested" - early discount available.
Thanks for all the lovely feedback from the hotel one. This from Mark:
"I think it will be remembered as an " I was there" seminar and you provided exactly what I needed to put a structure in place, using a simple method of stock selection and timing without it being overly complicated which was exactly what I was hoping for. Making a nice profits on shares bought after the seminar."
Love Easter. It's Xmas without the hassle and the terrible music.
And no gifts. Hurrah!
Spent each day with different friends.
A lovely walk in the country to a country pub, walk around town and coffee.. Take in a spot of footie"¦
Terry invited me to the Fulham vs Chelsea game.
Not sure he'll invite me any more as everytime I go with him, we lose.
Still not by as much as last time.
Fulham are doing well this year, though, 9th no less.
I remember the weekends going to away games with my son.
Frankly, glad those days were over. If I never see another teenage football "fan" again"¦
Long lines at the men's loos at Fulham.
Lucky I live close by as you never want to go there.
Imagine the smell then treble that and you get the idea.
Put it this way, the accuracy shown in the loos is on a par with Fulham's strikers.
Henley on Thames was very nice in the sun.
Ahhh, all those days without markets are lovely for us full time investors.
Peaceful times with no manic numbers going up and down.
Easter, missing you already.
Mind you, I have a nice weekend lined up seeing more friends, spring makes one feel a lot more sociable.
We sold our car a while back and it has worked out well.
We had a rather nice Lexus but trouble was it kept getting stolen and it became a liability.
Also since our son left school for Dubai we hardly used it any more.
The final straw was an insurance demand for £6,500 !
Looked out the window every morning to check if it was still there was stressful.
Though, one day when it wasn't there the tracker we'd stuck in a manky old glove worked a treat.
Found it parked up in a council estate in east London. Good work, detective!
We were just about to buy a runaround which wouldn't get stolen when someone told us about "Zip Cars".
There are loads of these around. Easy rent per hour or minute.
They're amazing. Get on the app, find a car, usually one nearby.
Book it, walk to it, unlock the door with a phone, £13 per hour and that's it.
No fuel charge, tax, insurance or parking charges. A trip to the local M and S
ends up about £8.
We've used for longer trips into the country too, day charge is about £80.
The most amazing thing is you can leave them in residence parking bays across London and nearby.
If we wanted to go into the West End you can park up in a residence bay, fabulous.
The cars are all fine, usually Corsas or Ionics, mostly electric. They do the charging.
It's such a relief! No worries about theft, remembering to renew insurance, mot's. Car tax.
If you fancy signing up I have a refer thing for a business account (you can then claim back vat and business trips against tax).
This link gives you £75 credit :
Any tips you need on how to use the cars, just mail me.
My property selling son in Dubai is going great and he has helped two of you readers already to find property to buy there.
I know he had a chat with one of you yesterday re buying property in the Marina.
Hopefully he has found you some nice ideas.
We may well be buying property over there ourselves.
Question is, will he split his commission with us?
A reminder Sharescope has upped its discount -

People keep asking me which broker to use for their new ISA.
I use mainly Interactive Investor and Barclays and IG.
Interactive Investor is my favourite, I also have my SIPP with them.
Easy to use, and stop losses work well, plus cheap charges.
II has sent me a referral link if you want to try it for an ISA or SIPP.
If you add in more than 10k, you get a free year's subscription with them worth quite a few quid and I get £200 into my account.
Seems like a no brainer here is the link:
I did a podcast with Zeus Capital and Nick Searle who is the most lovely chap.
He even posted a lovely handwritten thank you letter afterwards. Sheer class.
You can hear be blabbing on about how I came to be a trader and suchlike.

Took the credit card tracker with me to Sri Lanka. Used it twice to locate where the cards were!
Do get some credit card style tags they are wonderful and just over £20!
Link to the ones I bought:
Put one in your passport wallet and one in your credit card wallet or purse.
Thank me when inevitably something gets lost.
Thanks for the comment on my show about songs you heard on TV.
Some of you have sent me some songs you liked and heard on TV so it looks like I can do a second one.
It's fun to see what unexpected music you heard and enjoyed.
Looks like from emails Remi Wolfe's "Hello Hello Hello" was a favourite along with the Gustav track.

Lots of people trying side hustles at the moment.
Actually it was side hustles that helped me quit work for good in 2001.
My best was and still is Telecom Plus which trades as Utilities Discount Warehouse.
You can sell energy, sim cards, mobiles, broadband and insurance wfh.
You get commission per customer plus an ongoing commission every time they use
a service for as long as they remain a customer.
No stock needed, all done online. If you're good with people and don't mind a lot of
"no thanks" could work for you.
My young son is doing it and is roaring away with 20 customers already.
You're backed by a billion plus FTSE 250 company and it's rated well by Which Magazine for good deals and excellent customer service.
If you think this could be a good side hustle for you, mail me with "side hustle" at robbiethetrader@aol.com and will send you some info.
Thanks for the feedback from recent events.
Gary:
" The arrangements and agenda were first class, delivered with Elizabeth's charm and efficiency and Robbie's natural charisma. The drill down on all the stock trading ideas
really cemented the knowledge received from the beginners seminar and all
merited the further investigation Robbie and the group undertook.
Having a look at Level 2, DMA and Spreadbetting was very much appreciated.
The day flew by and finished far too soon. I'm convinced I am now a better stock picker and trader as a result of both days with Robbie."
Anne:
My husband and I had a lovely time. We learned so much, the hotel was great and the lunch fantastic. We didn't leave the bar till midnight!
Dave:
"I've been a teacher for the last 30 years and I'm not sure I could have kept a group of pupils so captivated for so long. Humour and in-depth subject knowledge go a long way!
I loved seeing your thought process in deciding which shares to trade and level 2 was also an eye opener."
Phil:
"The seminar was delivered with huge integrity (there was Zero hidden agenda/ulterior motives, it was simple and open with some great laughs thrown in)
As much as I found myself trying to complicate the process and make it more sophisticated in my own tiny brain.
You also took the time to answer "every" question anyone posed. And it was every question. Loads of shares ideas to boot, but more importantly the process to find your own. Brilliant!
Naked Rambling
Here we go, yet again!
This time it's M and S which hasn't been able to take contactless/phone payments for some time.
Guess what? It's pretty happy to take cash.
Yet again I urge the Government to enforce businesses to take cash up to £100.
Everyone should keep cash for this kind of thing, I always take cash if I am going shopping or out to eat in case of failures like this.
Putin must be laughing. Betcha he's already targeting underground cabling.
Cut lines so electronic payments can't be made and watch the youths turn into zombies when they realise their phone won't buy them an artisan coffee.
Meanwhile us old coffin dodgers will be happily handing over cash which can't be hacked.
This is why it's important to keep cash and use it.
Without it, we're at the mercy of anyone who can hack systems.
Someone I know well who employs 100s of people mainly under 30 was shocked.
She offered them all really decent full-time contracts.
Any takers? Just one.
She asked around to find out why.
Summary: They don't want to work more than 16 hours a week.
Apparently they can then claim some kind of benefit meaning they feel it's not worth bothering to work the extra.
Isn't that amazing? Also, some objected to working on Mondays and Fridays and forget about working weekends. After all, there are festivals to attend.
It's right that older drivers should take eye tests.
My mum (rip) was a terrifying driver.
I once spent an awful day as she drove up the motorways to Edinburgh plumb in the middle lane at a steady 45mph.
Cars to the left and the right made various rude gestures.
Nothing I could do.
"I like the middle lane, it's safer".
And that was that.
Our Friends and Neighbours **** Apple
New vehicle for the watchable John Hamm.
Banker who loses his job nips round his friends' homes and steals stuff to keep going.
Plot holes aside, it is thoroughly entertaining fare.
I guess also the moral of this tale is: loadsmoney doesn't necessarily make you happy.
(Though it does get you nicer bread.)
The Last of Us ***** Sky (no spoilers)
Gripping first couple of episodes of this new series.
There's a lot more to this show than killing zombies
There are decent community dynamics with a hilarious counselling scene discussing teenagers. And some clever jokes.
Second episode was up there in Game of Thrones territory.
How much money have they thrown at this?
You can only marvel at the work and detail that's gone into it.
The violence in it is pretty standard so not too bad for the squeamish.
Episode two was brilliantly directed by Mark Mylod who directed 16 episodes of the equally brilliant Succession and his attention to detail is staggering.
The Feud * or **** depending Ch 5
Latest cheap Ch 5 production is probably in so bad it's great territory.
The acting is terrible, as is the script and the music soundtrack the worst ever.
But"¦. it's so laughable it becomes hugely entertaining.
If you fancy some undemanding viewing and drama that's actually comedy then it is terrific!
Shops are opening inside prisons apparently.
I have developed a few products to be sold into the new prison stores.

Eeze-hardguy. â„¢ Stick on tattoo (featuring skull and bones plus "Killer" logo).

Eeze-roast â„¢ Simply open the packet and empty boiling water onto it (rather than your cell mate) and it transforms into a roast chicken dinner.

New Clarkson
Jeremy Clarkson's very funny take on farming is just out and is already in the top 20 books.
The latest escapades from the Diddly Squat farm.
Lovely entertaining writing while also giving the lowdown on all the hardships faced by farmers.
The book is very good value around half off the recommended price at just £11 here:

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too.
****
COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

Markets
As usual the markets have taken from the fearful.
Elizabeth who has a number of trading coaching clients tells me conquering fear is one of the biggest aspects of her work with traders/investors.
So far buying at the biggest point of fear is paying off.
But it is easier said than done for sure.
I think a lot just sold up. But trouble is when you try and get back in you might be buying on greed, missing a lot of any potential gains.
My spate of buying some of the shares that came up at the seminar has worked out well.
I bought one or two more shares that we discussed at that seminar.
I bought some shares in Kooth, we felt they looked good value.
Looked at this a few times in the past but didn't fancy it because it seemed way too expensive when it was in the 300-350p area.
But now it's half the price I am interested.
It's looking good for this youth digital mental health provider that has turned a profit from a loss and it begins to look promising.
It's looking for expansion in the states and is the English NHS' largest provider of mental health services for the under 18s.
It enjoys £21.8 m net cash up from £11m which is a big positive and it's made its debut on my dash for cash screen on Sharescope.
Given the cash, it now looks on the cheap side rather than massively expensive when I avoided it.
There are risks though, it depends on getting contracts and of course those could become unreliable. And getting and keeping contracts in the USA isn't easy.
Even so, at this stage I am happy to invest here and maybe hold for a couple of years in isas.
Stick with it if the green shoots continue or bale out if questions appear.
If the forecasts on Sharescope are anywhere near right the 2026 figures look good and if they come true, the shares should get a big re-rate upwards.
The market just seems to love shares of FTSE giant Imperial Brands.
What a chart. It even went up on a couple of the bad days a whole ago.
I can't say I especially love its products, mainly tobacco and suchlike.
Still that's not for me to judge, I am a cold hearted investor. Yeah.
Its figures look good and you can see why the shares are so strong.
So, I am in for a few, but probably only till the momentum stays.
Indeed if there is a further meltdown these are seen as defensive.
I bought some GB Group this morning after the shares slumped on a trading update.
Not the sort of thing I usually do, but I had a careful read through and my thoughts were these shares are now undervalued.
GB group has had a stinker of a time after an ill judged acquisition years ago which left it with some big net debt.
But this debt is coming down nicely and looking further ahead there are signs of better times coming here.
I've bought these with a longer term view unless further question markets appear or they sink much below my buy in price,
This was another one that came up at the seminar a couple of weeks ago.
That seminar really did produce a great list of winners so my gratitude to all of those who attended and some of you who suggested great ideas.
Indeed pretty much all the shares bought right after the last seminar have risen very nicely.
One, Synectics, the winning share of the day is up more than 40 per cent and still climbing.
And there's a 2.5p dividend, it went ex dividend today so expect some cash soon if you hold.
Also very nice subsequent winners from the day include Card Factory, Volex, Morgan Sindall and Pinewood.
I'll be trade hunting live online at a seminar on May 9th, live from your place!
Why not come and join me? Mail me for details at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "online interested" in the subject line.
I notice long-term holding YU Group is on the move upwards with some decent buying, it pays a large dividend late next month.
Where are these markets going next?
I actually think things will probably settle down sooner than later.
Trump needs markets to go up, he must be getting hell from his mates.
I suspect the US will drop interest rates when least expected and that could provide a bounce.
Also UK shares seem to be uncoupling a bit from the states and there is massive value in the UK markets so I expect takeover and deals to start happening again.
And when all is said and done, the best time to buy.. Is when everyone else has sold.
If you have a Trump slump, are worried and not sure what the hell to do why not book a session with Elizabeth?
She is a superb trading coach and will help you 1-1.
Talked to several people at the seminar who were overjoyed with her sessions.
You can do it online or at her office in Hammersmith if you leave around there.
I might even drop in as a surprise online guest during your sessions!

I've now finished reading The Trading Game.
Boy, what a gripper!
Definitely makes me glad I never ended up on a trading floor.
The cast of real-life characters there is not a pretty one!
Full time traders seem to be either alcoholics, drug abusers, loners, weirdos, passive-aggressive alpha males, know it alls or just a bit barmy.
And they are all certain of their own brilliance...
Frankly just check any of the discussion forums, all these characters are there..
Anyway, super read and a must buy for anyone interested in trading!

I've enjoyed reading "The Psychology of Money".
It's a best seller deservedly with 19 stories exploring how people think about money.
if you want to better with how you invest, trade or spend money it's a very worthwhile read!

Spreadbetting
Just a 0.6 spread for the FTSE which is fantastic and the best I've found.
Spreads on FTSE 100 and 250 stocks are really tight, I shop around SB sites when I am about to trade for the best spread and this one keeps coming out the best.

I've finished the book on AI - "The Coming Wave".
It's a must read for any investor - I've learned a lot, the writer co-founded Deepmind, one of the world's leading AI cos.
It's fascinating, some of the conclusions are scary and it's good to try and understand it, though in the end he concludes AI will being a lot of benefits. It will also drive some shares down and some up.

I love companies with decent cash piles and I've developed a screen for shares with cash with Sharepad to go with my new book.
The screen goes with one of my strategies from the new book "Dash for Cash".
The idea is it picks up sensible shares with a cash pile for further examination.
I don't mean it to be "just buy any share on the screen." My idea is it's a start for further research as just because a company has a cash pile doesn't necessarily mean it's a great company.
If you don't have Sharepad you can try a free trial using the link below, if you think it is useful after the trial you get a decent discount on the link and can pay monthly if you want.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
