But I have fixed a new date, so you can now book March 17th near Heathrow Airport.

*****
We had a lovely break in Dubai. Perfect weather! It's a bit of a shock to be back with rain and dull skies.
I'm pretty certain if we did not have a lovely nine-year-old we would be spending most of the winter out of the uk... (but he's worth it!)
So Dubai. Only 6 hours on a plane. BA business class. Nice and easy. Lovely weather 25 degrees and sunny.
Nice people, but it's slightly odd. No beggars, graffiti, problems of any kind superficially, so where are the down at heel folk? Nowhere to be seen.
Bit different from precious Xmases in South Africa where there is sadly plenty of poverty on show. Thing is though there you feel like it is real life.
Dubai feels like a bit of a holiday film set. It's all kind of too perfect. But then again if all you want is a rest in the sun why not?
There are also some tremendous water parks for the kids. A lot of building work goes on everywhere you look. More and more tower blocks up to the sky.
The highlight of the trip and something I will never forget is the amazing 6 minute firework display to welcome in the new year that you may have read broke the world record for the most spent and you can see why.
A breathtaking display. And what a way to see in the new year on the beach watching that!! The only problem now is, how do we watch an ordinary display again after that?
There were various new years parties and we just enjoyed watching them. Macerena anyone?
Christopher had a great time and made a few friends his age, even got some games of footie in and he loved the water slide at the hotel pool and was more than happy there.
The first hotel we stayed at briefly was a city one, the tallest in the world..
There was a problem with that... waiting for lifts. Sometimes 20 minutes! So we were happy to leave that one and ended up at a lovely one on the beach.
One or two celebrities dotted about the place, the main one being Michael McIntyre who was at the pool every day with his wife and kids. They seemed really nice indeed!
Dubai is supposed to be about shopping. I went to one shopping Mall. First thing I saw? A Waitrose! Frankly I don't like shopping and I hate malls.
All I see are greedy people buying crap they don't need but worst of all in every Mall in the world is the horrible food courts. People guzzling horrible bottom line high margin "food". Yuk.
The food on the whole was great. One place we really liked and went three times, a Thai place near the hotel.. really excellent.
Got into a bit of a pickle at one of the hotel restaurants.
Supposed to be an authentic local type food. But boy did they overcook the meat and fish.
I couldn't even get my fork into the Lobster. I had to complain.
That caused consternation. "Locals like their food well done," said the manager.
I argued that no-one could eat nuked lobster. And in any case why didn't they ask how we wanted it cooked? After all plenty of Europeans there who might like medium or medium rare.
The cook came up to say sorry, and so did someone else leaving me feeling bad but you have to pipe up. I suggested they just asked guests how they like their meat or fish cooked. Happy to get out of there!
Nothing wrong with technology if it makes life easier...
But the future looks horrible if the technology at our Dubai hotel is the future.
The lights, curtains and AC had to be controlled by an ipad by the bed.
Just one light switch in the whole place. And you couldn't control each light oh no they are not going to make it THAT easy!
There were certain settings "relaxed mode" "Theatre mode"....
Relaxed mode was not relaxing. The lights dimmed but the curtains opened.
(Yes correct you could only open and close the curtains using an I pad) "Relaxed" mode, more like "stressed" mode.
In the end there was only one thing to do before bed. Switch the whole lot off using the only light switch. So what do you do if you want a wee wee in the middle of the night? Get the Ipad and find "quick wee" mode?
This is technology gone too far. If new tech makes things harder than the old ways what is the point? If one partner wants to read and the other doesn't the I Pad had no way of keeping one light on and not another.... doh!
Anyway all in all a nice relaxing break and nice flights from BA.
Guess what happened the moment we got home? Yes great I got a massive cough and cold which went on and on and on. And is still going on and on and on.
I didn't bother with a doc. I reckon all the cough stuff they give you does eff all.
Talking health the treatment for the pre-cancerous condition on my head I mentioned last time worked a treat though it caused me some pain and discomfort for a couple of weeks.
It made my head look like a nuke had hit it so I spend all the time wearing woolly hats so not to scare people...
I decided to sod it and went next door for a swim however as my head looked so hideous I decided to buy a swim hat so as not to put others off their stroke.
I needed a big one so it didn't press against my head. So I went for one which said "For those with extra long thick hair."
The bloke behind the counter stared at me. Why was a bald bloke buying a swimcap for someone with extra long hair? He looked pitying at my self denial. He wanted to say something and nearly did but then he went for the rather safe blokey get out: "So AVB has been sacked as manager of spurs then..."
Thanks for your continued nice feedback about the last seminar and a lot of feedback coming in from those of you who've been to the seminars over the years and are making good money using my hints. It's so rewarding especially a couple of mails where I have been told I changed their lives. That is brilliant.

Naked Trader Seminar Latest News
New Date: March 17Th Near Heathrow
Booking is open for the Naked Trader seminar on Mar 17th
Price is £590 plus vat. However there is a decent early bookers discount available for those booking nice and early.
That includes three course lunch, coffees, snacks etc.
The seminar is mainly aimed at beginners and dabblers though improvers are welcome too.
Topics covered using live market feeds all day include: Market psychology, level 2 - a simple guide to how to use it for better timing; how to value companies; finding companies that are about to rise. I will also cover techniques for handling events such as the recent meltdown and volatility.
Spreadbetting: How to use it to gain an edge and go short. Market makers - how they work and how to beat them; how to stop losing money and make it instead and plenty more.
How to plan trade entries and exits - how to research companies and understand reports, plus all those niggly questions you always wanted to ask. How to set stop losses and targets. Charts and how to use them.
Also covered: Market maker tricks: How to spot tree shakes and use them in your favour, How to tell when NOT to buy a share. I use live ADVFN all day with lots of level 2 and looks at all kind of live market data.
The idea behind the seminar is SIMPLICITY. I don't use jargon or fancy words - everything is in PLAIN ENGLISH! No question is too stupid and the event is held in a friendly relaxed and supportive environment.
The idea is you will come away from the event I hope a wise and better investor with lots of new ideas. I try and translate complex topics into easy bite size pieces. I also aim for it to be entertaining as well as instructive.
If you are interested please e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "Mar seminar interested" in the subject line and I will send you full details of the event including comments from those who have come to previous seminars and you can then decide whether you would like to come. See you there!
One seminar attendee Clare wanted to write a testimonial about her experiences at the seminar which follows now!
"I've just come back buzzing from one of Robbie's seminars. What a day! He's just brilliant, and manages to pack an awful lot into one day, and with his enthusiastic and humorous delivery the day just flies by. There are no gimmicks, no sell, no "˜get-rich-quick' promises, just his own solid, sound approach which he has learnt over the years and which works.
He shows you how to minimise the risks and maximise the profits and points out the banana skins on the way. Where the seminar really comes into its own is when he teaches using live level 2. Hearing him talk through his thought processes and reasoning is invaluable, and really brings home everything from the book. He has endless patience answering peoples' questions, and really seems to care that everybody understands.
On top of that, you meet some really nice like minded people and swap e mail addresses, you're plied with
chocolates and coffee all day, have a great lunch and spend the evening getting tiddled with Robbie in the
bar afterwards! You might even get to see the amazing crocodile boots . . . .
Don't worry about the cost, it's easily worth it, and you'll soon make it back with your new-found investment skills, and in what you're no longer losing. If you're thinking of going along to his next seminar, whether you're a novice or an experienced trader, don't hesitate ""just go!
Thanks Clare, did you want the tenner in cash, or will a cheque do?

Naked Rambling
I see Mr Milliband hasn't improved over the hols. And it is hilarious to see them trying to muzzle the horrible Ed Balls.
Milliband has come up with nothing really. The bank branch stuff is laughable, talk about looking back and not forward.
The future of banking isn't on the high street, dum dum, it's on the internet.
The IMF this week says, oh we kind of got it wrong and after slagging off austerity last year now has egg on its face.
Growth is here and bigger growth is forecast.
Which leaves Ed Balls.. well nowhere. He's the one that said none of it would work and it has.
I wonder whether they will try and somehow demote him before the election. He must be a liability now.
It's a shame George Osborne still comes across like a creepy deputy head boy of a minor public school. Because he seems to have done a good job.
I hate these lists of 50 things you have to do before you die .. I never have done any of them and maybe even worse I don't usually fancy doing them either!
Latest is a travel one. I only did one, Take children on a safari in South Africa".
Well, look me and my son stroked a cheetah.
Does that count or it that cheeting?
Then I had a good look at the list. Come on. Fish on the Tweed. Learn to dance in Cuba. Furniture shop in Stockholm. Is that like going to Ikea?
Celebrate with monks in Bhutan. I'm an atheist lite... that must rule me out?
Oh well looks like I'm going to die only having vaguely done one of the 50. Poor old me.
It's really hard to watch any drama after Breaking Bad. Lucky the Mrs is trying to catch me up and we are watching series three. I'm enjoying the second view as I can pick up on stuff I missed first time round.
So the 7.39 on the BBC (two strangers meet on a train and start affairs) was a real stinker. Stilted dialogue and so obvious. Gave up after episode one. Wha a yawn compared to the tight storytelling of Breaking Bad.
On the plane saw the first couple of episodes of House of Cards. Tremendous!! Going to watch the lot once Breaking Bad is over.
Super comedy "Girls" is back, Sky Atlantic Mondays. Very superior. Warts and all - a real-life true sex and the city.
You have to hand it to the producers of CBB for making it a vintage one. But hats off too to the obnoxious "stars" of the show. Each one apart from the lovely Ollie showing addictions, too high or too low self-esteem, no self-awareness, lots of delusion etc.
And you have to laugh at the over confident Laura Suzzman. It's now so obvious she twisted Lord Sir Alan in the Appentice around her little finger to get into the final when she hasn't got a clue. He must be blushing.
And frankly while her spirit is to be admired her antics were entertaining however she has a daughter, how could she have gone so low when she knew her daughter might be watching?
Well done on Lionel Blair for taking part at age 83. This gives us all some hope that we get to 83 and if we do, we can still be all there!! Good for him.
Sadly Jim and Linda show sometimes with age wisdom doesn't come.
Jasmine was simply an American actress who was playing a part which she did very well. "Dappy" is obviously a posh schoolboy who immediately reverts to an upper-crust accent the moment the cameras are off.
As for Lee? Talk about thick! And totally not self-aware. Both Lee and Luisa just haven't grown up since they hit 16. Ollie probably the one to bet on to win.
A coffee shop in france charges £7 if you don't say please
£4 if you say please.
£3 if you say Good morning, a coffee please.
I'd be happy to pay £20 to say: "Get me a f***** coffee you c*** ! Ooh la la.

I agree with comments about Dr Who and Breaking Bad. I used to enjoy Dr. Who years ago but I think it's worn out, it's all about celebrity now, like everything else on telly.
I recently was enjoying the Sopranos a friend let me borrow (fascinating story lines) and my son Rob in Australia (an irrelevance to you of course), he said if you like Sopranos you'll love Breaking Bad. Wow was he ever right. I got the full set from Amazon (apart from the last season). I'm having to eke it out it's so brilliant I don't want it to end, that's the sad bit. What about the uncle in the desert in the wheelchair with the bell strapped to the arm of the chair, the missus and me just fell about and many more just brilliant set ups dragging out every emotion.
Agree Dave, love Breaking Bad. Only five to go for me and I won't spoil what happens for you except it gets more and more addictive!
Gary writes :
"For throwing your heart, soul and energy into one fact-packed, full-on and exhaustingly educational day: FIVE stars with no hesitation!!
Met some really nice people too - like me, nervous that it was the most we'd ever spent on a whole day of anything (had we made arses of ourselves?) But no one felt short-changed, especially when you were still going strong when we all wanted to go to bed! One of your delegates, Susan, back for a second time, said to me unequivocally, "you will go away absolutely inspired." I can't disagree.
Thanks Gary, hope you make some money!

Wanted to say a big thank you to you and Mrs NT for an amazing day of learning and fun at your seminar.
The way you explained the share trading from start to finish was understandable and really interesting, well worth the seminar fee!
It was great to hear such down to earth and honest assessment from a successful trader like yourself. The way you explained everything was good revision from your book and gave further insight into successful share trading.
I particularly liked your live trades and going through your accounts when you gave snippets of why you invested in certain shares and why you kept/dumped them. Also helpful was the way you searched for prospective shares and within minutes discounted them or put them on a short list for further examination and correct entry points. Amazing!
You could really tell that you loved doing what you do and your energy levels to keep going till 10pm was well....... I had to leave at 9pm I was shattered!
Thanks again Robbie I am keen to put into practice what you have taught me. Even though you make squillions from your trades and I am sure don't need to do the seminars for financial gain, but please keep doing those seminars for newbies like me!
Thanks Duane! Don't expect to be doing them foreever but very rewarding for me to help people so expect to carry on for a while longer.
Gabriel writes:
If you are reading this, you are perhaps considering going on one of Robbie's Seminars. You maybe asking yourself (like I did) the testimonials are all well and good but once the euphoria and excitement of attending a Seminar has died down ..... and I am back home in my normal routine and faced with the "graft" of putting it all into practice... will I become a better trader and be financially better off?
Let me tell you that in my case it certainly has!
Book your place pretty sharpish....... is what I say !
Thanks Gabriel!

Fantastic seminar.
I have always been sceptical of the public testaments you see on web sites
saying how great an event was. Now I'm one of those people!. I
genuinely believe that the tips and techniques as well as the overall
approach you demonstrated will radically improve my trading performance
Thanks Terry, well all the testaments are real but know what you mean and glad you feel it was worth it!
Stephen writes:
I read your book and did the course - and I wasn't sure if I'd recoup the cost, it's been 2 years and I've made £38k + saved a loss transferring a Jupiter ISA heavily invested in BP. I can't tell you how important this is or how grateful I am. That's just me, who knows how much people have made with your help and saved by not making mistakes. I wanted to get into shares as they recovered after the crunch, but I assumed I had to put a large amount in one company I thought would make a big jump.
But what happens when you make £1m on the website, will you still do courses? I don't know how you do your ISA and SIPP investments, write the website, books, courses and answer e-mails. But please don't give it up. Couldn't you do the courses and have a standing website which gets updated with your trades say once a month so people can see what you do..
Stephen thanks so much for such a nice mail and much appreciated! Dunno about the future, I feel like I'm getting jaded. It's possible I might just reduce it all at some point to twice a month after going weekly - that would probably help. The other problem is other people's angst is getting to me and the email workload becoming overwhelming. I think after ten years it might be time for me to quit. Anyway good luck with your trades and hope you make a lot more.
I have 3 great offers from ADVFN.
ADVFN level 2 offer
First great deal: If you want level 2, through me it is only £350 for your first year including VAT!

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too. This includes asking me what to do with a share, what I might "think" about a share, or deconstructing any of the buys I mention here. I would be grateful, see FAQ for more on this. Of course more than happy to answer general questions not related to specific shares.

A reminder next Monday's seminar is sold out. So I have added a new date, March 17th. There is a decent early bookers discount email me for details at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "March seminar interested" in the subject line. Sorry to disappoint some of you who were trying to get into the Feb 3rd one.
Well goodness me. It's been a while since my last market update.
You might think to yourself that I've made loads and loads of trades since then..
Wrong! Frankly I have done next to sod all apart from lie around the pool in Dubai and then lie about back in the UK hibernating and catching up on TV box sets (that is the kind of exciting guy I am). Hey but to be fair I have also been battling flu.
I've made an absolute fortune in the last month, probably more than £100,000 and literally that has been made with hardly lifting a finger.
Because the shares I have nearly all continued to go up, a lot in some cases.
And all I have actually done is top up on some of them. Because if there is one thing I've learned in a bull market which we are still in for now is: if you're in a good one which keeps coming out with good stuff, keep buying!
I bought my usual FTSE santa rally bet at 6439 and 6460 and lobbed in a trailing stop. I was expecting to simply take a profit on it as usual by year end or early January so I am very surprised to still be in but the trailing stop simply has never got hit so the profits on this bet are £5,000 plus. Now I just leave it with the trailing stop and wait for automatic profits to be banked whenever that is.
Best company for doing FTSE bets by the way is here:
http://www.spreadco.com/nakedtrader/
That's because it does just 0.8 pt spread and execution is brilliant.
Obviously we are very near what looks like a massive top, will it go through or are we going to sink? I haven't got the foggiest though hoping we are going to carry on up.
Onto the few trades that I made then.
I've bought into a new one: OPG Power (OPG) - looks a very interesting one with risks attached of course!
However with a very big jump in profits forecast the rating looks like it could be rerated sometime soon. Its potential is enormous as it develops power generation plants in India .
Growth here is very high: revenue and profits are all booming and I think a lot of the future potential isn't in the price yet so looking for a bounce from the 60s to around a quid for 40%, maybe more this year.
I bought a few of a new issue called MoPowered (MPOW) at 97. Bit risky these new issues and buying the idea of this one rather than any money they really made yet.
Probably one of those that will either be worth double or half this year. I like the idea behind MoPowered, ensuring commercial websites are compatible and work well with mobiles.
Given more and more spending is done on mobiles it surely seems like one that could succeed. However it is definitely risky so small stakes only for me for now. Or until there are firm profits coming through.
On Monday this week it said it had added 27 new clients in a couple of months, more than expected. If it keeps winning clients and can turn that into profit streams shares could have a good year. However of course one negative statement would send it tumbling, it is a risky one.
Dialight (DIA) issued a lukewarm statement however underlying profit will be around £15m and it has cash so a lot of the recent not so great stuff is in the price so I picked some new shares up at 626.8 as a recovery play. This one has made me a fortune and luckily I sold a load over a tenner. Time to ride it back up?
Quindell Portfolios (QPP) looks interested and I am in for a few. I got a few for my Sipp a while back lower and now I bought some for the ISA too. Look good fundamentally and been held back by shorting raids and some stories that maybe it has problems. Looks like the market is now not buying the problem stories and so it is rising strongly.
I made another top up on brilliant drugs company Vectura (VEC). Despite rises there is plenty more to come and it's had approval for one of its major drugs.
This time it's on a spreadbet as I was fully invested in the ISA so £30 a point at 132.
And I couldn't resist a top up in Communisis (CMS) at 51.6.
On the spreadbetting front I bought some Dominos (Dom) (we discussed this potential trade at the seminar) at 476. I always thought it expensive at over 600 but the move below 500 tempted me in for a slice. I'm a seller near 600.
And I topped up my position in Monitise (MONI) this time with a speadbet as I was fully out of cash on the ISA at 68. Plenty more to come here I think.
Fusionex (FXI) has been an amazing one, and I topped up with a spreadbet here too. Too good to miss.
Onto sells, with the market still going strong I haven't seen a reason to be selling anything really. However..
I closed out half of the shorts in Carpetcrap at 513. It should sink even lower and even directors have been bailing out of this dead loss of a retailer. However given I've had massive shorts in it and I've made nearly 200 points profit it seemed sensible to bank a bit so profits of £420 and £680 on twi of the web trades.
In real life my shorts were way bigger than this so profits are in fact a lot more and I still stick with a pretty big short and for the website profits on the shorts remaining are nearly £2,000. Presuming another terrible statement I'm looking for another 100 points lower.
I've sold SQS at 505 for a profit of £700. So total profits banked are £1,800.
Obviously I am sitting on big paper profits so I'm sitting and waiting to see whether to take some profits/part profits soon and that depends on whether the market can break up further or not.
PORTFOLIO HIGHLIGHTS
Some very big gains for me since the last update. Probably the highlight is Fusionex which has now doubled for me since I bought in October, very nice and as mentioned above I have topped up along the way. How much more is there to go? Who knows but the strength is keeping me in there.
Indeed some of the recent buys have done very well. Especially KBC which has gone up nearly 25% since I bought it at the December seminar.
The two other most recent buys Scapa and Servelec have done well too.
Telecom Plus has continued to surge and looks likely to hit 2000 soon and given I bought loads at 100 it makes me very happy! It now means I have a massive stake in there worth nearly £700,000. The open positions on the website now total profits of £270,000.
GB Group has doubled with giant profits building. Seeing Machines is going well, and I'll be trying to buy a few in the 5p issue though doubt I will get many!
32 Red has had a brilliant time since the start of the year and it is another doubler for me. Kentz continues to shine and I wonder about another bid this year. BTG has been a star so far with a massive rise. 5 timed on that one.
Regeneris holds well over 300. Air stocks Avation and Hangar 8 have both taken off and continue their climb in 2014.
RWS, Avon, CML and Loq, (now called accesso) are the long-term stars and all are shining so far this year. Six times on Accesso, trebled on CML, doubled on Avon and doubled on RWS.
And a big cheer for Vimto maker Nichols, what a share!! It has bubbled up 2 and a half times from my original buy. It reported this year and all looks good.
Also three cheers for Cohort which has gone over 200, Entertainment One now pushing 300 (I have trebled) , Porvair pushing 300 (doubled)
, Sepura doubled.
Merlin goes nicely, Renew has stormed up and Conviviality has benn convivial.
Accumuli, and Al Noor both push higher .
Phew. But remember pride comes before a fall and one must always be on the look out for the start of a bear market and at some point no doubt some of these profits will have to be banked.
*** Two Newer Spreadfirms I Use
It is hard to find a firm that does prices on the very small companies but this company does:

It does spreads on smaller ones other companies don't like Dillistone so worth having an account for that, been using it for a while and very happy so far.

TIGHEST SPREAD FOR TRADING THE FTSE/DOW ETC
If you're into trading indices this one is the cheapest with just a 0.8 spread which is fantastic - execution is top too

If you start using them and find any problems please let me know.
I've been getting e-mails regarding my use of direct market access and who I use. I've tried a few and for me the easiest system for me is here:
http://www.ig.com/nakedtradercfds
Direct market access means you can place orders directly onto the order book bypassing brokers and market-makers with a chance to buy at the "sell" price. I would suggest you ensure you know what you're doing first but IG does provide much education with its "tradesense" educational tool which comes with it.
I also use its spreadbetting service too along with other firms like Tradefair because it now provides trailing stops which to me is a pretty sensible way of trading. Also with this link there is an excellent education programme and it offers the biggest range of smaller shares.

As usual before opening accounts please read all the warnings on the sites. You can lose a lot of money if you're not careful so pay close attention to them and make sure you always understand what you are doing and what your potential losses are.

Telecom Plus Offer
You get to sell great broadband, phone packages and energy to friends, relatives, contacts and anyone else you find and you get cash for each sale but more importantly you get a cut of their spend EVERY MONTH for as long as they are a customer!
It's called residual income and is a far better way to enjoy a ripe old age than relying on a pension. Because even after you stop selling the money STILL comes in!
I still get paid EVERY MONTH for sales I made back in 1999! Every time a customer uses broadband or the phone or switches on a light you get paid.
It's a great business and backed by a stock market company (Telecom Plus), a dedicated team of advisors.. and me to help you on your way!
Not only do you get paid out every month for each customer you can take on distributors. encourage them like I do and get paid on their sales as well.
One day, say you could made redundant, needed a year off or wanted to retire early can you imagine what joy it is to have the regular income coming in. It's wonderful.
You have to work at it, but if you do genuine repeat wealth could be yours. I did it. You can too. For full details, why not email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com.
An overview is also available at http://www.utilitywarehouse.org.uk/fabdeal you can sign up directly there but do tell me! (Click become a distributor and follow links)

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets
on Wednesday afternoons.
