There I was cheerfully riding my bike looking forwards to a nice swim in the open air pool.
When out of nowhere.. bang! The bike skidded and next thing I knew I had smashed into the road.
Lucky for me it was a small private road with no cars or
else I might not be here to tell the tale. Black ice I suppose.
I got up thinking maybe I got away with it and hobbled home.
But that night the pain came and so did a bumper swollen knee and leg part.
I toyed with A and E but figured going there after an icy day where there must have been many falls would probably entail hours and hours of waiting.
So I thought, well, let's see what happens.
Over the weekend it stayed swollen and I couldn't walk really and nor could I go out which was really annoying.
I thought about cancelling the seminar, but I knew a lot had paid for and booked the hotel, paid for flights, taken a day off so I decided to brave it.
The Mrs drove me there and it was hell trying to walk about. And it isn't much fun walking about a hotel at a snail's pace getting in the way of people.
It made for a very uncomfortable day for me. Nurofen helped as did trying to keep the leg raised.
At one point early afternoon I came close to ending the seminar and apologising and doing refunds because I felt so rotten I just wanted to lie down.
But the absolutely lovely audience kept me going with their enthusiasm, great questions and sense of humour.
And so I managed to keep going.
Questions asked and answered made me feel like a lot was achieved at this seminar as I hobbled about feeling like a right old git.
I know a few of you have already asked about the follow up event and are keen which is lovely.
A lot of interested trades/trades to be also came up after the shares scanning which was an added bonus. So I am glad I carried on!
The hotel did a really great job with the food and snacks with delicious mini Englishes, roast chicken and waffles and a whole lot more. My fave probably the smartie cookies.
I was amazed at how many stayed at the end and you got a bit of a reward for that! And thanks for the lovely feedback including this one: "It exceeded expectations. It was even more relaxed and crammed with pearls that I had anticipated and you are a most gifted communicator and inspiring without wishing to embarrass you..."
Of course not! Everyone loves praise.. keep it coming!!
I look forwards to seeing some of you again, possibly at the March follow up.
If you missed this one there is a new date, March 18th with a large first ten to book discount on offer, mail me for details at robbiethetrader with "March interested" in the subject line. If you want the first ten discount probably need to mail me
within a week.
And the winner was : Jason Arnopp who gets £200 and second was Tav Bonsall who gets £100.
Well done as well to those in the hat who didn't get pulled out including John, Kieran, Siriphan, Mike, Mairwen.
Well done to both of you! I haven't contacted either of you because I thought it would be more exciting for you to read it here! So you can both now send me your bank details for payment!
If you missed my podcast it is still available here:

Writing this on Thursday the knee is calming down and feeling better but I guess I better see the Doctor.
Yeah, I know us blokes hate going to the Doc. Well, at least it is nothing to do with my "Nether regions".
It's just nothing worse than something like.. "Afraid you need
an operation on it...."
Hope I can make it to Ireland where we are visiting relatives for half term and so the next website update is Feb 28.
Naked Rambling
Hand up who thinks Donald Tusk is a word that rhymes with runt?
Let's see. Goodness, that appears to be all of you.
I laughed when I read some driverless cars will be
with us in the UK by year end. What could possibly go wrong?
If I know for sure a driverless car isn't going to run me over, as a pedestrian I can cross the road whenever
I please!
Imagine Hammersmith Broadway in the rushhour with just pedestrians and driverless cars.
Bad enough as it is now with smartphone zombies crossing without looking.
Well, now zombies know they can cross anytime, The cars, already going slowly will stop. Pedestrians will rule and the driverless cars will mainly be stationary. The overiding rule will be "don't kill anyone".
Cars will have to stop all the time. Normal cars will end up running into the back of them.
Can you imagine a driverless trying to turn right
onto a busy road full of traffic. In some places in London
said car will never ever move because it can't take a risk or inch out expecting someone to let it in.
Hotel wholesale websites must tell the truth say watchdogs and stop pressure selling like only one room left. Plus added booking fees etc.
Hotels say these sites have actually pushed room rates up
20pc!
How about an investigation into all comparison sites too? These need commissions so don't expect you'll get the best deals.
TV viewing remains subdued given most of it is pants at the mo.
The highlight of the week is Catastrophe. Sharon Horgan is just excellent.
The scripts are too, a very talented pair. Always a laugh and a decent point or too made on top.
Shame it's the last series, surely though there is a Catastrophe movie potential?
Cleaning up" remains only just watchable though I am started to fast forward the sub plot.
So we continue with a rerun of The Sopranos. Just entering the sixth series.
Looking forward to the episode where Ben Kingsley puts in an appearance.
Apparently Rolf Harris wandered into a school.
Let's hope he didn't get his digeridoo out.
SEMINAR NEWS
New date mar 18 2019 near Heathrow
Email me for details at robbiethetrader with "Mar seminar interested". There is
a current very large first ten to book discount
Beginners and improvers welcome. Come and spend the day with me, the markets and some lovely people - and of course, lunch, lots of sugary snacks.
My seminars are designed for beginners, dabblers and improvers and deals with everything from how to look for winners, how to research, spreadbetting, level 2 use how to time trades and short, how to use advfn properly and run your portfolio without having to spend money on systems and tipsters.. and tons more.
A lot of the day comes directly from the live markets and I show you many of the tricks I use to get good prices live. And there might even be the odd live trade or 2!
Some recent feedback:
He actually takes you candidly right into the mental process involved in his successful trading, making it a pretty amazing display, even showing his own investment accounts right there on the screen. This is a genuine coaching session in how to trade like him if you put in the graft. My advice therefore would be to sign up for this while he is still prepared to do it.'
When I signed up to your course my goal was to make 20% p.a., I've achieved that in less than six months. Your course was pretty much going to be my last attempt at trading, So once again thank you, it's by far the best money I've ever spent on trading education and probably on education full stop."
I felt we were in for a long day of numbers, PowerPoints and dry talk.
Instead, what we got was fascinating and enjoyable mix of punchy insights, merriment and wise-cracks, sharp wit, and to the point no nonsense advice. I sat down at 9:45am and didn't look at the time again until way after 8pm at which point I had to drag myself away."
I read your books and understood the words "" however I was missing that final nugget of knowledge "" actually seeing you valuate a company and make that buy/no buy decision live means I now get it."

MARKETS
EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too.
****
COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

Hey! Remember when shares also went up as well as down?
A decent few days then (even though there is a special place
in hell reserved for some people).
At least we hope Brexit might get resolved sooner than later.
Markets just want to know, in, out or compromise. Just do one of them, adjust prices accordingly then move on.
I suspect given my bike accident if I hadn't braved doing the seminar in pain there wouldn't be any trades given I am just sitting around the house feeling sorry for myself and not wanting
to do anything.... (you know what us blokes are like).
But we got some interesting ones so here are a few more tentative buys. However I remain in a lot of cash as those of you who came to the seminar saw! In the main isa my cash holding is close
to £700,000. Plenty of firepower in case of the worst.
The BOE today slashed its growth forecast for the year blaming Brexit uncertainty which has caused a bit of a sell off.
I bought some Rosenblatt. (rbgp) I lost as few quid on this a while back buying at a totally wrong price.
This one is a legal firm that floated last year. However it kept coming down - looking back on it the entry to the market was just too high for the time.
However, taking a good look at it at the seminar it looks too cheap to ignore and have bought some.
The trading statement was positive, there's a 5.5% dividend. it's got a cash pile for acquisitions.
But could it be a target itself? DWF is coming to market, a massive law firm and refers to a "large consolidation opportunity" in the legal market. RBGP
would be peanuts for simply looks under the radar, for me too cheap and I am in! I
One I did make a lot on before is Computacentre (CCC)
which came up on the radar at the seminar and bought some live.
I think it's come down way too much and deserves a re-rating.
This provider of IT infrastructure services gave out a confident statement - last year was really good, this year will be hard in comparison but cash balances are above expectations and its purchase of Fusionstorm will aid profits.
The fall from 1600 to a tenner looks overdone. According to an investment bank it has the best total return track record of any UK listed tech company from the past decade.
An entry price is difficult it is a FTSE 250 share so very volatile. And there is risk: some of its markets have softened, but is
that in the price?
Another live buy was IG Design. (IGR) A gift company that had cash but spent a load on buying a big US company. So it now has big debt, but offset by profit forecasts which show likely substantial new profits.
It seems to have a trading range of 515 ish to 610 ish
so I am hoping the uptrend is in play again and looking
to exit in the high fives soonish. Hey! High Five!
Redde also came up - this one looks ultra cheap and is gradually on the way up. It is Jeremy Corbyn's favourite share "Redde under the bed".
I think Redde (REDD)should be more highly rated. A fantastic 7pc dividend, low debt, trading on a modest multiple.
I'm going to join Corbyn and tucked some Redde under my bed inside a google chrome laptop.
I averaged up my buy in Kainos (KNOS) as it was rising to good strength. Nice, as a very decent trading statement nothing like seeing "ahead of expectations".
It needs to break up through 450 for 500 next stop. Nice company with decent management.
It has a trading range of 500-610ish so I am looking for a ride up to the 600 area.
And I picked some more XP Power (XPP) as I only
got quite a small amount last time.
I covered this one in the last update. It seems to be finding
a firm bottom at 2000 and appears to be picking up a little
head of steam.
It could easily go up 100-200 points quite quickly though it
does remain on the riskier side of things.
I shorted some more AO World (betting on it to go down).
We had a good runthrough it at the seminar and it is trading on a massive multiple for what it has achieved.
And even using forecasts which show a decent profit in a couple of years doesn't make it any more expensive so looking for a fall to about a quid.
I've top sliced some Hat. I dithered on it as it looks strong still and there might be more to come. But, it's been a decent rise fairly fast so sold half for a profit of £570. And a little slice on Abd to bank a profit of £1,850.
I've noticed Next Fifteen one of my nice long-termers is on the move. This one can get re-rated all of a sudden quite fast and I might put in a sell price order as the spread is big - it could
be heading for 600 again.
Right I am off to carry on feeling sorry for myself and my knee.. and given political uncertainty happy for now to keep the
big cash pile.
If you missed the seminar

EXTRA INCOME FROM HOME
When I left my full-time job to trade it really helped having another income: this I got from part-time selling energy and phone services to people and getting a cut of their use of their home services forever! I still get enough from it now to pay all my bills. I am a great believer in multiple incomes and this is a great one in my opinion as anyone could do it.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
