The new spreadbet book is out - at least from my publisher
and from two weeks on amazon. See if you'd ordered
it from the website instead of Amazon you'd have it now!

My publisher has done a great job on it. I am really hoping
there aren't any massive mistakes in it.

Because if there are it means I'll get an email a day regarding
it for years !!! There are two in Naked Trader and guess what,
yes an email a day still!

The e-version will only be available after June 25th if you bought the
print one, so be patient.

If you are coming to either the follow up
seminar on Monday or the beginner/improver on the 29th I will
have some copies of the book available.

I'll even sign it and do selfies! Indeed, look forwards to seeing
some of you again on Monday I have seen before.

Don't forget if you
want to do the "homework" I set deadline is tonight! The
homework I have seen so far is sensational and can't wait
to discuss your work on Monday.

If you've been to a seminar before and want to come on Monday I
had two cancels so two seats are now available.

Still room also for the beginner/improver one on June 29th, email
me regarding either at robbiethetrader

For those of you coming on the 29th just sign in and grab
a seat. I have a great lunch and lots of fab snacks all day
for you.

Just relax, it is all in plain english and hope wen have some
fun along the way too.

Thanks to those of you who filled out the questionaire, if you'd
like to, please fill out asap unless you are a total beginner.
We had an amazing day out at Wembley for the play-off final between
us (Fulham) and Aston Villa.

I discovered a note my son had written to himself.

If we don't win. Cheer up".

Anyway. We did! Despite someone being sent off. We were all
dressed in white, waving flags. 38,000 of us for a small team.

The weather was stunning - we scored quickly and held on for the
rest of the game despite a sending off.

A great party on the pitch after the game. A real sense of camaraderie
among the fans and the team.

So premier league next season. Lucky I got my season ticket early
at £299 for me and £60 for him. Now they would be £500 and £220!

First game up against Crystal Palace in August.

A bittersweet
time for us coming up.

Christopher has his final days at his
school before going weekly boarding in September.

There
are various end of term events. Parents of leavers will be expected
to cry. Mrs NT definitely will! It's because it is the most fantastic
place with the best teachers ever and we will miss it.

Even more crying in September when for the first time there will be
no-one sleeping in his bed during the week. Except for a crying cat.
You can read all about how us part-time empty nesters cope
in updates from September!

Going to a few evening race
meetings, and a day out at Wimbledon on the way.

Plus all end of
year school events, and two seminars. So the next update
will be July 6th and will have all the news of trades that came
up at those seminars.

It's all Simon Cowell's fault. And Eileen's.

He says "Do you known what?" before nearly every
sentence.

So does Eileen, an 88-year-old Brummie
who I talk to every week on behalf
of the silver line charity (which sets up chats
for the old and lonely).

She says it a lot.

Do you know what Robbie," she says. "Marks and Sparks
have got this brilliant £10 meal deal.

Do you know what? You
get a curry, chocolate pudding and bottle of wine for a tenner."

Do you know what? I got £5 back on my Sparks
card."

Because of this I find I've started doing it too.

Do you know what?" I say. "We're having Marks
lamb, veg and dauphinoise potatoes for dinner tonight."

Look, we talk about Marks' food a lot. And about her
nosey neighbour Alan. Lynne next door has a dodgy knee
and doesn't deserve her boyfriend who she treats very badly.

But also I know I said it a few times at the last seminar. Trouble
is it leaves your lips without you realising it.

Do you know what? We'll tackle level 2 after lunch." Etc.

I can't tell Eileen to stop can I?

Come on, Eileen.

Now when I was a DJ and the dancefloor was empty, do
you know what? Come on Eileen would always fill it. The
12 inch was nearly ten minutes so nice time for a drink
around the back.

BTW if you want to join me chatting to lonely old folk
and have even just 30 mins
to spare once a week, sign up for the silver line (google it).

You could really help a lonely old person with a weekly
phone chat. It is VERY rewarding and you are doing some
good in this world.

I know I have egged on a few of you to do it already. All
you need is a bit of training and the commitment to
do it every week.

If you need any tips you know where I am
as I have 4 year's experience now.

Do you know what? Could be the best thing you ever did.
I can't give it all a mention but here is a clip from Chris:

Thank you for your generosity and a memorable day which I think has just given me the missing pieces to the jigsaw puzzle! Not only were you brilliant, but the grub and stuff was a real treat too! My only criticism is that the clock ran too fast!

The level 2 bit was a revelation as I have only seen it used before with the FTSE100 stocks and couldn't see how anything moving at that speed could make sense. Now having seen how you apply it to smaller stocks was a 'EUREKA' moment so thank you I've taken the ADVFN level 2 subscription out as I now know without it I'm buying and selling in the dark."

Amazed so many of you stayed so late, well done to those
who sampled the "reward" at the end!

If you want to come to the next one, Sep 24th email me at
robbiethetrader with "sep seminar interested".

Naked Rambling

The two psychos trump and Kim had a meet.

They are so similar it's hilarious.

It's not really funny but perhaps ironic that countries decide
their leaders have to be the worst sociopaths/psychos/
nutcases that they can find.

Both just love the limelight.

But if Trump really think he'll give up all the nuclear
weapons it isn't going to happen/

As Jang Jin-sung, a defector who had worked in government
in North Korea says:

The biggest mistake people make is thinking nuclear weapons
are for the protection of the country. They are for the
protection of the Kim dynasty."

Kim knows full well once the last weapon has gone his people will
rise up and he'll be cut to shreds.

I am sure he noticed what happened to Gadaffi in Libya. One minute
Tony Blair was hugging him, next he was toast.

Those goings-on at PMQ's. The speaker is such a vile man. All
bluster and pomp and simply awful.

I'm afraid the level of the politicians now is at a new low. Shouting at
each other, finger pointing, abuse. Good heavens!

The Mrs has decided to get into "Love Island". Of course
I don't feel the slightest bit jealous of her looking at fit 20
somethings while I bite into a twix.

I'm trying with it as everyone seems to rave about it but
I just find I don't really care whether Kevin and Sharon hit it
off or whether Sharon dumps Kevin to snog Wayne.

Now, I might get more interested, say, if Sharon took an
interest in Tracy. Now you're talking!

I thought for a minute Billions had lost it and was jumping the shark.

A poor and stereotyped Jewish character followed by Kim's awful
lift dance.

Luckily it picked up again after those two disasters. Maybe the
trainee scriptwriter had had a go while the main dudes were
off for the day.

So now (spoiler ahead) Taylor is setting up as a rival. Go girl, or,
erm, boy, or... look I'm just too old for this kind of thing, ok?

The Americans! What a finale! I shall miss the characters. Brilliant
twist near the end. Fine scenes, lovely acting, great writing. Watch
from the start! It's on Amazon.

It's High Maintenance finale this week. Such a funny one last week as
addicted phone user discovers an old flipphone.

Such a great funny show.

Onto the robot shows. Humans. Not bad, a bit twee and a touch
too Doctor Whoish at times. But interesting themes if you can
pretend the plot holes aren't really there.

Westworld - I've nearly stopped watching it a few times but just stayed
there and this week's was better. Again, interesting themes but they
could have made it an easier watch. The Bernard character is so
annoying!

Remember I got 33-1 a while back on Sajid Javid being the next
Tory leader?

That's already paying off! He's down to 6-1/ I think he'd still worth
a bet at that price so I won't be "cashing out" at a profit yet. Indeed
even tempted to add to the bet.

SEMINAR NEWS
NEW: September 24th near Heathrow.
Email me for details at robbiethetrader with "sep seminar interested". The last three have been sold out well before time so don't leave it too late. There is a large early bird discount.
Beginners and improvers welcome. Come and spend the day with me, the markets and some lovely people - and of course, lunch, lots of sugary snacks.

My seminars are designed for beginners, dabblers and improvers and deals with everything from how to look for winners, how to research, spreadbetting, level 2 use how to time trades and short, how to use advfn properly and run your portfolio without having to spend money on systems and tipsters.. and tons more.

A lot of the day comes directly from the live markets and I show you many of the tricks I use to get good prices live. And there might even be the odd live trade or 2!
Some recent feedback:

He actually takes you candidly right into the mental process involved in his successful trading, making it a pretty amazing display, even showing his own investment accounts right there on the screen. This is a genuine coaching session in how to trade like him if you put in the graft. My advice therefore would be to sign up for this while he is still prepared to do it.'

When I signed up to your course my goal was to make 20% p.a., I've achieved that in less than six months. Your course was pretty much going to be my last attempt at trading, So once again thank you, it's by far the best money I've ever spent on trading education and probably on education full stop."
I felt we were in for a long day of numbers, PowerPoints and dry talk.
Instead, what we got was fascinating and enjoyable mix of punchy insights, merriment and wise-cracks, sharp wit, and to the point no nonsense advice. I sat down at 9:45am and didn't look at the time again until way after 8pm at which point I had to drag myself away."
I read your books and understood the words "" however I was missing that final nugget of knowledge "" actually seeing you valuate a company and make that buy/no buy decision live means I now get it."

LOTS OF LOVELY DISCOUNTS HERE!!!
My new spreadbet book is out.

COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

A surprisingly strong market continues!

First half of June normally isn't that great but the market
sails on ignoring any bad news and lapping up the good!

The US economy looks good for now with rates rising while
the European continues to stagnate.

Note how well proper tax cut work. That can't happen here as
we have the class war politics.

Anyway I carry on my merry way trying to find good stuff whatever
the main market is up to.

The last three weeks have been excellent for me personally with
lots of very strong gainers. A big surprise for June.

Onto some buys and sells from me.

I bought some Tritax Big Box (BBOX) - it has property assets and
lets those out to some very big names.

You wouldn't expect massive gains quickly here but over the long-term this
looks like a fantastic investment which a brilliant management team. You get
a very nice income for the shares which are low-risk (well as low risk as
you can get in a marketplace)

I've already held some of these for quite some time and seen some nice capital
growth as well as the payouts and this one is the cornerstone of my sipp.

Institutions love this share and stumped up £155m in a placing recently. This
money will help BBox to buy up more assets. A nice safe one (ish!)
in an uncertain world! Some people like shares which might go down 50pc
overnight. They won't like this one (thank goodness).

Today spin
off Tritax Eurobox says it will float on the London Market shortly - I'm in!

I've added more Alliance Pharma (APH). Now one of my biggest holdings
I have now nearly doubled on it but I think there is more to come with
hopefully the end game a takeover at 150 plus.

It got a major boost a few days ago saying one of its major drugs
Diclectin got a positive opinion and regulatory application is
now approvable.

This has now helped push the share price to the 100p area. It's
always hard to get through a whole number but once through,
110p hoves into view.

I moaned about Entertainment One shares last time but now they are on
a real roll, breaking out fast and I bought some more.

A long-time bid target for me I remain hopeful of a bid here. Peppa Pig
amusement places are going to be popping up everywhere, its
library valuation keeps going up and broadcasters are
very keen on content.

The share price keeps pushing up so the market appears to be in
the middle of a share price re-rate. More to come?

I've bought some of GVC - the gambling group.

Relaxation of gambling rules across the USA should bring
big rewards for this group as well as other betting companies.

Amazing
to think the US has been so reluctant to allow gambling. Of course
it will all take time but the market looks forwards and should continue
to re-rate GVC shares upwards.

Car tester AB dynamics (ABDP) I've been
in for a while and I added there too. Today it announced its
first order for an advanced vehicle driving simulator.

Another step to what could be a fantastic future here.

I was surprised to see Dty fall on what was already well-known to the market
so rather than doing my usual thing of selling I lobbed in for some more. The
bad news seems to be priced in. However I will be out of both quick
if there are any signs of further weakness.

I sold Vanl for a decent profit. Shares often have trouble
getting through whole nos, in this case a quid and there seemed
no momentum to get through for some time.

I needed the money for other things and given that, it was the one
to be sacrificed. Phtm had to be sold. The weak and falling share price and lots
of sellers told its own story which was followed by a profits warning and
so it went for a loss. Its laundry business might be its saviour together with
a cash pile so one to watch. Wary for now.
Time to cash in on the short of Pets. It has been a fab short, shares falling way beyond
what I thought, and they look fair value now so it is time
to bank the profit! (£1,750)

Superdry trade started well but it started to fall.
I was only after a quick bounce so I sold the spreadbet for a small
profit.

NWF announced trading is well ahead of expectations today. As
I mentioned when I bought it it was obvious the cold weather was going
to be a big help and so it proved. A nice tempted to
take profits yet as the company could easily go even higher.

k3C issued a strong trading statement - good news is FCA authorisation for
its KBS capital markets. Looks like one which should continue to grow
over time and look a super isa tuckaway.

The market was a tad "meh"
to Iomart's results - but the slight decrease in price could be a buying
chance as profits still rise well and this would be the time for a bidder
to get cracking!

Recent buy H&T cracks on nicely - not so displeased now I had to
pay full price for the shares. Avon Rubber just keeps bouncing higher.

ITV is on the march - amazing viewing figures for "Love Island" helping
and the world cup starts today. Sopheon made a brilliant statement
which sees the share head back up towards a tenner. The incredible
Safecharge is getting re-rated and 400p looks a reasonable
short-term target.

Legal firm Rosenblatt has had a great start. I reckon patience
will really pay off on this one as one of the first legal
disrupters".
WORLD CUP BETTING!

Onto the world cup. I've done a couple of bets on the spreads.

I've backed Brazil (a bit obvious) (around 5-1) and Uruguay ( not so obvious).
(Around 33-1). And a smidge on France.

It amazed me how many decent players Uruguay have and they
look underpriced.

I've used Sporting Index for my bets. I think spreadbetting is
far superior to fixed as you still get paid out even if teams aren't
in the first two.

Backing them on the spreads means I don't need them to win. If Brazil
do reasonably well I'll make a few quid. If Uruguay do well I'll
make a fortune for example.

Here's how it works. Uruguay at the mo is 24 to buy.

Comp winner gets 100 points, second, 75, semi final losers 50. Quarter
final losers 25. Last 16 10, rest 0.

So let's say Uruguay wins. and I bet £10 a point,. I would win
100 points minus 24 = 76 times ten so win = £760.

!If it got to the quarter final I would make a tenner! (At least no loss)

If Uruguay get nowhere I would lose £240. (24 times my stake)

Or you could bet on a team to do badly. For that you would "sell".

It is the same principle really as financial spreadbetting. You can
also spreadbet on individual games and lots of different markets
from the number of yellow cards to the number of goals!

It is great fun. Obviously for entertainment only and expect to lose,
after all it is sports betting! I find a bit of a spreadbet make a game
or two a bit more fun.

Obviously watch your stakes with spreadbetting, figure out what
your total loss could be if the bet goes wrong and whether the
fun is affordable for you.

EXTRA INCOME FROM HOME

When I left my full-time job to trade it really helped having another income: this I got from part-time selling energy and phone services to people and getting a cut of their use of their home services forever! I still get enough from it now to pay all my bills. I am a great believer in multiple incomes and this is a great one in my opinion as anyone could do it.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
