The book is a total update since the last one which I wrote in 2011.There are tons of ideas, trader stories, psychology, biggest trading mistakes and 20 trading strategies to make money. Also loads of stuff I have learned over the last three years. New insights into trading tax free, tons of examples, a whole load of new traders' tales and some of the trades that have helped to make me well over £2 million tax free.
The Stock Market Almanac for 2015 is out! It's a great traders diary which I always have on my desk! A lovely hardback diary which also makes for a great present for the trader in your life. Packed with useful information, taking you through the best weeks, days to trade etc. To order your copy click this link where you can get it for only £17 (It's £20 on amazon) AND with an order of the print copy you get the e-book FREE!
Fantastic to meet so many of you at the seminar last week, a really lovely crowd, we had a great time and some nice trades appeared too I think.
You should all have had your notes from me, if you didn't, let me know and will see some of you again on March 23rd who have already booked the follow up.. more further down. Thanks for all the lovely feedback!
I've never won a trophy for anything in my life, not even a sack race win at school. Until.... now!
I could hardly believe it when an email popped in:
"Congratulations you are a winner in the ADVFN International Financial Awards 2015 in the category of Best Trading Education Provider."
I didn't even know I was even up for any award. Did someone vote for me or something?
On quizzing the awards organiser I was told "the awards were judged by a panel. However, the identity of the panel and the actual selection process for the awards is classified to prevent any undue influences occurring in the future.
So well, thank you panel whoever you are...
So next week they are coming to visit me and present me with some kind of award/trophy.
I am going to have my picture taken so I will wear my favourite T-shirt with a zebra on it on purpose as I guess all the other winners will have boring suits and ties on!
If I get a copy of the pic I will try and put it up here although I've been too lazy to update any photos on this site since... well... since the I Phone was invented...
Although to be frank I suppose it's not exactly the most exciting category.. looks like Stephen Fry won't be asking me to make an acceptance speech on TV anytime soon...
I admit I have often been quite jealous of all the trophies won by my ten-year-old, he has seven and I had none. Now I have one!
I am going to put my trophy next to his in his room.
If you happen to be organising any awards for anything please don't hesitate to award me a trophy..
How's about.. the best website called naked trader run by a bald bloke?
The valentine's day con is nearly upon us... yes pay three times for a meal you could have had three times cheaper yesterday except today the restaurant uses some stupid love pun for the dish.
Of course being sensible me and the mrs would never go out on such a night - (it's pretty embarrassing and cliched anyhow)
But this valentines night we ARE going out because one of Mrs NT's favourite singers Macy Gray is live in concert and a long while back I got tickets.
Frankly I would rather see Pitbull, Nikki Minage or Kesha ... but I have heard some of her tracks and she is a great singer.
I'll let you know if she was any good next time! Meanwhile I have to spend most of the weekend in the freezing cold on various touchlines.
Tomorrow night it's freezing cold Friday night Fives football.
Saturday morning is rugby at school (on top of an hour of standing in the freeze there is a half an hour "warm up" too). Curses.
Then Saturday afternoon an hour and a half of tedium watching some horrible "championship" football. That's sitting for hours freezing cold watching two crap teams play. (Fulham Vs Birmingham).
Frankly it's amazing these players get paid so much or that they even play football full time at all. I'm taking a friend of my son. I think I'll take an IPod with me and listen to some music..
And finally Sunday morning we have to travel to an "away game" somewhere in Surrey at the horrific hour of 9am. My son's team is playing the "Metropolitan Police"
Just hoping we don't get arrested on some trumped up charge if my son's team wins....
I do have my secret weapon: a hot water bottle. Don't tell anyone or else they'll think I'm a right old fart! Everyone will hopefully just think I've just put on a bit if weight...
Sadly for me Christopher has developed an interest in supercars.
He spent most of his time in Dubai taking pix of them and last week took him to the Classic Car Show at the Excel.
Sadly as I'm not interested at all in cars. He knows everything about them. His favourites are Maseratis.
I have explained he's going to have to do more homework less painfully to have any chance of buying one in the future in case the masterplan of becoming a premier league player doesn't work out.
I successfully managed to totally lose him at some point during the show. He cheerfully went straight to the management office and waited there for me to finish panicking and find someone in charge.
Once I had she said "Yes you must be the bald guy robbie, he's waiting for you in the office...."
We had a brilliant day at last week's seminar - I can't believe how many of you stayed so late with me, but hope it was worth it.
Many of you I think got why level 2 is so important and it was nice to see some lightbulbs going off and some of you now have a clearer idea of how to plan a trade, and more importantly when to buy or sell a share.
Some of you have already booked the follow up on March 23rd which is very flattering and thanks for so many of your kind words that you emailed to me.
I'll just publish one from an attendee:
"Best things from the seminar: meeting you and Elizabeth, stock selection methods,
Shorting, CFDs and spread betting, using the other websites - such as ADVFN
DMA - FASCINATING to see the real-time price change when you'd put a "buy" in!
Number-crunching so many stocks, to get good practice at quickly assessing them.
To have kept my attention right up until the end means that: 1. You made it interesting right up until the end 2. I was still keen to get the most out of the day, and therefore still keen to keep trading, and improve my skills. so you did a good job, there.
You also put a massive amount into it, and I applaud your staying power - even spending time with the delegates during the breaks, which must make it a very long, and knackering day for you, so very well done!"
Many thanks!!
Don't forget you can spend a day with me at my next seminar on Monday
March 9th, and get into good trading practices by trading live with me.
Mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "March seminar interested".
Beginners and improvers welcome! Come and spend the day with me, the markets and some lovely people - and of course, lunch, lots of sugary snacks, and even live chocolate waffle making in the teabreak!
My seminars are designed for beginners, dabblers and improvers and deals with everything from how to look for winners, how to research, spreadbetting, level 2 use how to time trades and short, how to use advfn properly and run your portfolio without having to spend money on systems and tipsters.. and tons more.
A lot of the day comes directly from the live markets and I show you many of the tricks I use to get good prices live. And there might even be the odd live trade or 2!
Here's some feedback from from "D"
'It's obvious from his site Robbie Burns is a good market analyst and shrewd stock-picker. He is also a highly opinionated commentator on everything from TV shows to food. Therefore I expected his seminar to be 75% entertainment, 15% general exposition for beginners and-- if we were lucky-- 10% of something I could use to help me invest. But I could not have been more wrong.
The opinions on food and politics etc. though genuine, are I believe a bit of disguise or misdirection for there is a real touch of rebel genius here. And in the seminar, which is 95% hardball, he actually takes you candidly right into the mental process involved in his successful trading, making it a pretty amazing display, even showing his own investment accounts right there on the screen. You can see at once why so many of us are merely stabbing in the dark with our investments.
This is a genuine coaching session in how to trade like him if you put in the graft. I have only bought one stock since, as I am waiting for the tools he recommends, but I got the price down by using his tactics and I cannot recommend the seminar too highly if you are going there to learn. It must be taxing on him to let us at such length and in such detail into the process, which has made him so much money (for--unlike so many other so-called experts the seminars are not a day job). My advice therefore would be to sign up for this while he is still prepared to do it.'

Spreadbetting firm Capital Spreads offers a great book on how to spreadbet for readers via this link http://www.capitalspreads.com/ntrader
Its spreads are surprisingly tight and interestingly an automated stop loss is applied to each trade - so beginners know what their max loss is from the outset. A super site for beginners.
I use IG Index for betting on the very small companies, the only spreadbet firm I can find that does the smaller ones making it possible to trade AIM cos tax free.

Naked Trader Seminar Latest News
Fancy spending a day with me, learning all the ways I have learned over the years to find good shares and play the markets? Well, you can at one of my seminars!
Booking is open for the Naked Trader seminar on March 9th
Price is £650 plus vat. However there is a decent early bookers discount available for those booking nice and early.
That includes three course lunch, coffees, snacks etc.
The seminar is mainly aimed at beginners and dabblers though improvers are welcome too.
Topics covered using live market feeds all day include: Market psychology, level 2 - a simple guide to how to use it for better timing; how to value companies; finding companies that are about to rise. I will also cover techniques for handling events such as the recent meltdown and volatility.
Spreadbetting: How to use it to gain an edge and go short. Market makers - how they work and how to beat them; how to stop losing money and make it instead and plenty more.
How to plan trade entries and exits - how to research companies and understand reports, plus all those niggly questions you always wanted to ask. How to set stop losses and targets. Charts and how to use them.
Also covered: Market maker tricks: How to spot tree shakes and use them in your favour, How to tell when NOT to buy a share. I use live ADVFN all day with lots of level 2 and looks at all kind of live market data.
The idea behind the seminar is SIMPLICITY. I don't use jargon or fancy words - everything is in PLAIN ENGLISH! No question is too stupid and the event is held in a friendly relaxed and supportive environment.
The idea is you will come away from the event I hope a wise and better investor with lots of new ideas. I try and translate complex topics into easy bite size pieces. I also aim for it to be entertaining as well as instructive.
If you are interested please e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "March seminar interested" in the subject line and I will send you full details of the event including comments from those who have come to previous seminars and you can then decide whether you would like to come. See you there!
One seminar attendee Clare wanted to write a testimonial about her experiences at the seminar which follows now!
"I've just come back buzzing from one of Robbie's seminars. What a day! He's just brilliant, and manages to pack an awful lot into one day, and with his enthusiastic and humorous delivery the day just flies by. There are no gimmicks, no sell, no "˜get-rich-quick' promises, just his own solid, sound approach which he has learnt over the years and which works.
He shows you how to minimise the risks and maximise the profits and points out the banana skins on the way. Where the seminar really comes into its own is when he teaches using live level 2. Hearing him talk through his thought processes and reasoning is invaluable, and really brings home everything from the book. He has endless patience answering peoples' questions, and really seems to care that everybody understands.
On top of that, you meet some really nice like minded people and swap e mail addresses, you're plied with
chocolates and coffee all day, have a great lunch and spend the evening getting tiddled with Robbie in the
bar afterwards!
Don't worry about the cost, it's easily worth it, and you'll soon make it back with your new-found investment skills, and in what you're no longer losing. If you're thinking of going along to his next seminar, whether you're a novice or an experienced trader, don't hesitate ""just go!
Thanks Clare, did you want the tenner in cash, or will a cheque do?

Naked Rambling
Who is slagging off who. Ghastly. Meanwhile of course no-one is bothering to run the country properly.
All I can hope is people imagining the horrific Ed Milliband outside number 10 who would drag us back years.
Cameron got in a pretty good gag though yesterday at PMQ's
Ed Balls had given an awful interview to Newsnight the previous evening - when asked which leaders of which companies supported Labour he said he could think of one headed by Bill... Someone....."
Cue Cameron. That's Labour policy in a nutshell: "Bill someone".
I can't ever think of a more terrible opposition than this one so bereft of any decent ideas and so just hoping to scrape in by saying as little as possible apart from "cost of living crisis" and "Millionaire's tax cuts".
Just think Ed Balls as Chancellor. Now decide which way to vote.
Goodness me, Big Brother!
They really struck gold with an awful band of horrible narsissic people, the worst bunch ever. Shame they chucked out Ken Morley though...
Of course it does make for amazing entertainment. Perez Hilton is a weird man-boy who acts like an spoilt 8-year-old.
I don't buy it he does it for entertainment. That really is him. And we are all grateful we never turned out to be the monster human being that he is.
However without him, the show would have been lame. Hopkins, well we all know and understand she's ok really and she's just made a living out of pretending to be vile.
I suspect both will be hired by a TV company to have their own show together.
Poor Keith Chegwin has seen nothing like this in his life and it must be hard for him as an sober alcoholic to be in there with a some drinking ones.
Anyway all in all it was good entertainment though I suspect like me you wonder whether we really should find people bickering entertaining.
See - I work from home and I don't have office politics. That's my excuse anyways.
I've had a bet on a surprise winner - Calum Best ..figuring most of the voters are young women who might fancy him. He was a good price so worth a bash, and it's kind of an each way bet on the spreads so second would be fine too!
I can't work out whether "Togetherness" which follows Girls is brilliant or terrible. I'll try and decide next episode.
The Mrs allowed me to stop watching Wolf Hall after episode one as she knew I was struggling.
However... I steeled myself and watched episode two and with the Mrs kindly filling in plot points for me I got through it. Hell, I'm going to have a stab at the next one as well. You've got to challenge yourself sometimes haven't you!
Oh dear Broadchurch. This once fine series should have stayed as a one series show.
They're tried to up the drama with way too many plot lines, many convoluted and contrived.
The characters are getting tiresome too - I think I'll probably have to give up on it or fastfowards through some of it.
No doubt the end will be a "not guilty verdict" (gasp!) followed by "I can't live with myself I am guilty" announcement. You read it here first!
Best news ever: The Breaking Bad spin off show Better Call Saul is out in the next few days on Netflix.
Reports are it is fantastic! It features dodgy lawyer Saul from Breaking Bad set six years before Breaking Bad started.
We get to see some of Breaking Bad characters including enforcer Mike. I bet they end up eating at Pollos!
I'll do a review of it in the next edition of the website.
Well known tiny actor Warwick Davies has formed a group to perform plays only with very short actors.
I'm thinking of setting up a company performing only with bald blokes. Any baldies want in?
Those of you who want to spreadbet on sports and entertainment shows like the X Big Bro, here's a great sportsbet site. If you want a bet on the spreads on someone to win BB here's the place:

Good quick execution of bets and a great range of markets. Recommended!

I agree with comments about Dr Who and Breaking Bad. I used to enjoy Dr. Who years ago but I think it's worn out, it's all about celebrity now, like everything else on telly.
I recently was enjoying the Sopranos a friend let me borrow (fascinating story lines) and my son Rob in Australia (an irrelevance to you of course), he said if you like Sopranos you'll love Breaking Bad. Wow was he ever right. I got the full set from Amazon (apart from the last season). I'm having to eke it out it's so brilliant I don't want it to end, that's the sad bit. What about the uncle in the desert in the wheelchair with the bell strapped to the arm of the chair, the missus and me just fell about and many more just brilliant set ups dragging out every emotion.
Agree Dave, love Breaking Bad. Only five to go for me and I won't spoil what happens for you except it gets more and more addictive!
Gary writes :
"For throwing your heart, soul and energy into one fact-packed, full-on and exhaustingly educational day: FIVE stars with no hesitation!!
Met some really nice people too - like me, nervous that it was the most we'd ever spent on a whole day of anything (had we made arses of ourselves?) But no one felt short-changed, especially when you were still going strong when we all wanted to go to bed! One of your delegates, Susan, back for a second time, said to me unequivocally, "you will go away absolutely inspired." I can't disagree.
Thanks Gary, hope you make some money!
Duane writes:
Wanted to say a big thank you to you and Mrs NT for an amazing day of learning and fun at your seminar.
The way you explained the share trading from start to finish was understandable and really interesting, well worth the seminar fee!
It was great to hear such down to earth and honest assessment from a successful trader like yourself. The way you explained everything was good revision from your book and gave further insight into successful share trading.
I particularly liked your live trades and going through your accounts when you gave snippets of why you invested in certain shares and why you kept/dumped them. Also helpful was the way you searched for prospective shares and within minutes discounted them or put them on a short list for further examination and correct entry points. Amazing!
You could really tell that you loved doing what you do and your energy levels to keep going till 10pm was well....... I had to leave at 9pm I was shattered!
Thanks again Robbie I am keen to put into practice what you have taught me. Even though you make squillions from your trades and I am sure don't need to do the seminars for financial gain, but please keep doing those seminars for newbies like me!
Thanks Duane! Don't expect to be doing them foreever but very rewarding for me to help people so expect to carry on for a while longer.
Gabriel writes:
If you are reading this, you are perhaps considering going on one of Robbie's Seminars. You maybe asking yourself (like I did) the testimonials are all well and good but once the euphoria and excitement of attending a Seminar has died down ..... and I am back home in my normal routine and faced with the "graft" of putting it all into practice... will I become a better trader and be financially better off?
Let me tell you that in my case it certainly has!
Book your place pretty sharpish....... is what I say !
Thanks Gabriel!

Fantastic seminar.
I have always been sceptical of the public testaments you see on web sites

genuinely believe that the tips and techniques as well as the overall
approach you demonstrated will radically improve my trading performance
Thanks Terry, well all the testaments are real but know what you mean and glad you feel it was worth it!

I have 3 great offers from ADVFN.
ADVFN level 2 offer

This compares to £473 direct from advfn inc vat so this deal saves you over a whopping £120! ADVFN level 2 also includes all the live trades made through Plus Markets which I find invaluable.
To accept this great deal just e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "Level 2 offer" in the subject line and I will tell you how to get it. Level 2 gives you access to all the market maker positions and the order book and I would not trade without it!
More on level 2 in my book and I spend hours on it at my seminars. So if you get level 2 and want to learn how to use it properly live, book my seminar!
ADVFN Bronze Offer

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too. This includes asking me what to do with a share, what I might "think" about a share, or deconstructing any of the buys I mention here. I would be grateful, see FAQ for more on this. Of course more than happy to answer general questions not related to specific shares.
****
COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

Markets
Never predicable are they markets? No wonder so many lose...
Madly volatile recently. Is Greece bad news? Yes? No? Not sure?
How about all the other stuff? Maybe... then again maybe not.
Lower oil prices, good or bad? Hmmm, maybe good maybe bad. Anyway don't ask me where it is all going. I haven't the faintest clue except the suspicion the whole world's economy is made up.
If everyone owes trillions I still haven't a clue who anyone actually owes it to. Is it Warren Buffet?
However... with markets near all time highs it seems sensible to take a few precautions and I have been right through all my accounts over the last two weeks and sold a bit of nearly everything.
That raises a nice lot of cash giving me some firepower should they tank at some point this year.
And I have banked an awful lot of spreadbet profits which have all gone straight in the bank ready to buy my next property!
It's just impossible to mirror any of this action on the site I'm afraid, it would be a full-time job.
However those who've come to seminars will have an idea and you'll know I've been holding half a million quids worth of spreadbets across a lot of accounts. That's down to half that now so I have banked a nice amount!
I've also been taking out some pretty hefty shorts whenever the FTSE gets into the 6900 area. However this is not my thing, seems a sensible insurance should things suddenly tank.
Also if the indices start to rise and break through all time highs I can just sell the short and take a small loss on it. Won't matter much as my longs will go up!
I noted the utility sector has been badly hit but two shares in this area have been hit way too hard so bought them both - Utilitywise (UTW) and Telecom Plus (TEP)
Neither of them are really affected that badly by falling oil prices and both have become really good value so I picked up shares in both companies at totally knockdown prices. Actually really silly prices in my opinion.
Utilitywise provides businesses with utility services and I can't really see why its business deserved to fall from 3 quid to 2 quid. So I put my money where my mouth is and snapped some quite a few in my isa and in spreadbets.
UTW directors bought a decent slug around the 250 area.
Telecom Plus doesn't hedge as it has a supply agreement so falling oil prices doesn't help or hinder it that much so a fall under a tenner seemed crazily cheap for a company likely to produce a profit of £62 million. Just a reminder I have been a distributor for them since 1998 so assume any comments I make are going to be tainted by optimism!
Directors of both companies agree as they have all bought shares but in particular directors of Telecom Plus bought heavily picking up a massive near £750,000 worth between them last week.
I do expect to make a decent amount from both these trades.
Retailers are often tricky - they go in and out of fashion but I like the look of Shoe Zone (SHOE) and bought some live at the last seminar.
Very nice fundamentals and a great management here. It cuts costs and stores where it needs to. Seems to target the value shoe buyer and does this very well indeed.
Profits are on the up and it pays a dividend. I see this as a lovely tuckaway for a couple of years and it should end up seeing me even more well-heeled (gettit?) The shares go ex-dividend next Thursday (so if you hold them at close of play next Wednesday you get the 3.6p dividend).
Coming up late in the evening at the seminar was an interesting one: Empiric (ESP)
I like the idea of this business - buys up property and turns it into decent student accommodation - you can see from its website how cleverly it makes a small space look very desirable.
I'm in at around the current price at 105.87 - my expected timetable on it is probably at least a two year hold for decent capital gains and a nice dividend too.
I topped up my long-term holding in Al Noor (ANH) a hospital group operating in Dubai/Abu Dhabi. Already doubled in these they went to over 1200 but coming back to 900 area they have tempted me in again.
I expect to add these to my long-term holdings and stay with them for an eventual return to their high of over 1200p.
I've put in for five grand of new issue coming up next week, John Laing. It's a good steady company, most brokers are offering it and at least there is no stamp duty or tax to pay and it might be a nice tuckaway. You'll probably find the offer on most of the bigger brokers home pages.
I sold Cranswick at 1370.87 - it struggled to break 1400 so I quit for a tiny profit (£30). It released a statement this week which seemed fine and it's gone down a little, looking to buy it back soonish.
I sold Flow. But looking to buy back. Sold the first lot for a loss of £350 and the second for a profit of £125. Which is irritating as I could have sold the whole lot for a profit of over a grand but my timing was out.
Not sure why it's been tanking and am thinking of buying some back at depressed levels. Same story with Pres - though a luckier outcome.. I took a profit of £700 on it as it headed higher very fast and quickly reached target.
Today there was a warning though I was puzzled as it all seemed in the price that had halved as it was already known the oil price would hit. So I bought a few early doors today. Maybe the truth is to just not mess around with higher risk stocks in an isa.
Boom's been disappointing and I couldn't really hold the ones I had bought higher for any longer so sold some at a loss of £836 and some for a profit of £450 making a total loss of £386 for the site but held onto some and at current prices around 9p might try a new buy. At least I did make a giant profit on them previously when I had a double on them.
Took a little profit on gms just a topslice though at 114.6, keeping the rest - the company put out a bullish statement pushing the price nicely higher and happy to hang onto some. It's For site purposes half are sold for a profit of £403. And took half profit on Ttr at 48.2 for a profit of £496. Again, a buyback here possible.
Some very good gains for the portfolio in the last two weeks.
Fusionex (FXI) reported today, nothing like seeing the magic words "ahead of expectations". Nice profit rise, a dividend is going to be coming and there is tons of cash.
They look good longer-term and I'm getting ready to buy some extra on any weakness later today or tomorrow.
Now a star of the show...

For tightest FTSE 250 spreads suggest

Probably star of the show surprisingly is Pets At Home! Up nearly 15% recently. Those of you who came to the seminar saw the real giant spreadbets I have in it where I am up more than £10,000.
It's reached my target but actually it looks so strong I'm staying put for now, perhaps 250 is now achievable.
Carclo put out a respectable announcement today. Trading is strong and a confident statement for the rest of the year. So a nice 20% rise since buying and sticking in there for more.
Amino also came out with a decent statement though not much movement in the share price, it has gone up quite a bit since I bought but I'll await another re-rating, hopefully! It has plenty of cash.
Entertainment One is starting to rise again after its recent acquisition - well underpriced at the moment, and should soon go back over 300.
Dignity is really flying high for me trying to push up to the 1900 area, nice and now doubled on my first entry point.
Optimal Payments is rising very nicely indeed and looks about to head back to the 400 area.
Servelec went down a bit but a broker put out a strong buy this week so the price is storming back. post year-end statement was confident and bullish and all seems on track so see no reason why not to hold it for as long as possible for gains. It also has to be on a potential bid list.
Sprue Aegis looks like it is about to set off on another run up what a lovely one it has been.
GVC came back a bit but part of that was due to going ex-dividend so a nice cash credit is due.
I can't believe I did do well out of the British Airways spreadbet now up more than 150 points, or whatever it is called International Consolidated.. I got lucky there though.
For those of you thinking of playing the Ftse or Dow it might be worth opening an account here in readyness as the FTSE spread is only 0.8

** TWO NEWER SPREADFIRMS I USE:
FOR SMALL COMPANIES:
It is hard to find a firm that does prices on the very small companies but this company does:
http://www.spreadex.com/nakedtrader
It does spreads on smaller ones other companies don't like Xeros so worth having an account for that, been using it for a while and very happy so far. They also have an Ipad offer at the moment which is on that link.

TIGHTEST SPREAD FOR TRADING THE FTSE/DOW ETC
If you're into trading indices this one is the cheapest with just a 0.8 spread which is fantastic - execution is top too
http://www.spreadco.com/nakedtrader/
If you start using them and find any problems please let me know.
I also use IG's spreadbetting service too along with other firms. Great execution of trades and nice trailing stops which to me is a pretty sensible way of trading. Also with this link there is an excellent education programme and it offers the biggest range of smaller shares.

As usual before opening accounts please read all the warnings on the sites. You can lose a lot of money if you're not careful so pay close attention to them and make sure you always understand what you are doing and what your potential losses are.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
