The absolutely must buy book of the year is out: The 2014 UK Stock Market Almanac.

I didn't do my own diary for 2014 because honestly, this one is better.

It is a beautifully produced hardback stock market diary, two pages for each stock market week.

So much useful info including results expected in the week, market behaviour and history weekly and monthly, best and worst performers, company profiles, plus strategies, social, sporting and financial events.

I already have mine on my desk and it'll stay there for 2014. I also actually will use mine a diary for my own ends and put in my own social events!

I persuaded the publishers to offer a discount to you lot so they are offering this beautiful book at a discounted £15 (it is £20 on amazon) at this link only (cut and paste into your browser)

http://books.global-investor.com/books/873331/?ginPtrCode=21654

Delivery is speedy and usually next day. Enjoy the feel of this really lovely diary - it makes a great present too for a trading friend.

The next update for the site will be Thursday December 12th - as the seminar is on a Monday rather than a Friday to avoid clashes with Xmas parties - I am knocked out for 2 days afterwards usually! And after that have stuff to do.

But December 12 update will be comprehensive with a review of the year and a look forwards to 2014.

In the meantime look forwards to seeing some of you readers this Monday for the seminar and some old faces for the follow up seminar on the 9th.. let's hope loads of decent new trade ideas come up. I can't wait myself!

I'm tired! It's been a busy few days here...

Friday we paid a visit to the Ascot races, a nice box courtesy of spreadex who invited a few of their regulars for an afternoon out.

Ascot is a lovely course and it's better to go when it's a low profile day, you don't have to wear a top hat and stuff, it's not that busy and so more enjoyable.

Amazingly I wasn't the most scuffily dressed in the box, I was well beaten on that score though I was the second worst dressed.

I was accosted by a bloke in a pinstripe who told me I must be rich as I was badly dressed.

"I happen to notice," he said.. "All the really wealthy people are really scruffy..."

"Well," I said. "I must introduce you to shops like Primark and Mr Pound..."

Quite frankly his pin stripe looked like it had been worn a few hundred times, doesn't he know it is way harder to be casually scruffy? And anyway my jacket cost £40 from Debenhams online so there!!

I lost £100 trying to back 8-1 shots while all the odds on favourites went in. Never mind, it was all good fun.

Though I have a great idea for any spreadbet company.

Rent a box at the races. Invite 30 of your worst losers/addicted gamblers, take all their bets on the day. Assume they lose an average of £300 each. That's £9,000 turnover say 2 grand in costs leaving a profit of £7,000.

Now do that six days a week that's £42,000 profit a week, or over £2m profit a year. Neat idea huh?

What a Saturday!

Christopher's ninth birthday party. The party was a day out at Fulham FC Vs Swansea, before that some games and after that some more games.

I started the whole thing badly. Whose stupid idea was it to give 7 crazy young lads a big box of popcorn? Mine.

Of course within seconds the whole floor was littered with popcorn. And goodness knows what else.

Anyway it was off to the game - we knew Fulham were going to lose, they always do unless it's one of the only two other teams currently as bad.

Our players seem to spend their time "running" very slowly. One of them, Berbatov hardly moves at all except occasionally to keep warm.

Anyway loads of packets of crisps were scoffed along with some chocolate. Yes, sugar and salt, always a winner.

Inevitably we lost 2-1 and went next door, the boys were all out of their heads on sugar by then, the pizza delivery arrived and we got them playing table football and pinball for a while. A whole hour and a half to fill before the parents arrived to pick them up. It passed very slowly..

Just as the whole thing was about to descend into chaos as the boys thought it would probably be fun to wreck the place as much as possible and then rugby tackle each other Mrs NT took charge and started a game of musical chairs.

Which went down very well !

Everyone won a trophy and we sent them all home with nice goodie bags. We even gave every boy an organic cotton football T-shirt. Of course we only did that to show off to the other school mums just how well we're doing and it's high time we got invited to a dinner party or something..

On Sunday just as we thought we could have a bit of a rest reports reached us someone on twitter was posing as me, putting up trades and even replying to questions from people.

Using my picture and my identity! Other twitter users thought it was me, well it was my picture with my name on it. Flipping cheek was the mildest of the language used.

I don't have a twitter account but the Mrs does and she was soon on his case.

Unbelievably he tried to defend himself. He couldn't really see what he was doing is wrong. Yes, of course there is nothing wrong with pretending to be someone else...

He grudgingly took my picture off then started posting under his own name (at nakedtrader) like he was my employee or something. Sad. If I wanted to tweet my trades I would but I don't so sod off. He got some of them wrong of course anyway.

By the way as I don't have a twitter account if I wanted to complain about someone stealing my ID I would have to fill out a long form and send it in, backed with "faxes". No-one real to talk to. The machines are taking over.

So let me point out: I am not on twitter or Facebook and can think of better things to do with my life than look at or participate in either. I don't want fake friends and would frankly prefer to look at the ducks on the river.

Unfortunately for me things will probably get worse and soon enough I will get pissed off enough to stop having a website completely.

My sister Nica who owns 5 West End theatres is currently on Ch4 every Tuesday night in a show called The Sound of Musicals

She comes over very well I think. It is pretty likely I am going to turn up at one of these shows and I'm dreading seeing myself. They followed us round when she was getting the OBE and at the party afterwards.

Unfortunately they "interviewed" me about her when I was two sheets to the wind after the party. I can't remember what I said I think on purpose. Hopefully I slurred too much and they won't be able to use the footage..

Seen a couple of movies - Philomena with Steve Coogan, really excellent true story, well worth a visit.

Hunger Games 2... okay except a bit of a rerun of the first, but not bad, a bit overlong.

Tonight we are off to see Blue is the Warmest Colour. Apparently there is loads of lesbian sex in it. Of course I will be keeping my eyes firmly closed during those scenes... you believe me.. don't you?
I look forwards to meeting those of you coming to the seminar on Monday!

Good news is the chef has promised to make us waffles with chocolate sauce fresh and live during the first break.... can't wait to eat th... I mean meet you all!

I really enjoy these days and meeting readers. Every one ends up being a bit different as it all depends on who is there and sometimes there are some very different roads we end up in.

Often seminars are also great for my trading as inevitably in all that time some shares come up that I might not otherwise have spotted and researched.

In the years I've been doing them I remember some fantastic ones popping on screens, the best one was the seminar where Mulberry kept appearing at 250... I remember buying the following Monday and although I sold out too early at 950 it was a tremendous profit. And another really good one was GB Group at 25p at the seminar and pushes 130 now.

So selfishly hoping to discover something new myself! Those of you coming doors open 9.30am... follow the signs to Naked Trader..

Please remember I am paying for your parking but you MUST give your reg number in to reception or else you will get a parking ticket!

Please come and register from 9.30am and then find a seat - coffees will be there waiting for you and there is coffee and tea on tap all day. The chef promises me there will be great snacks and lunch! It better be good or there will be trouble..

Grab a coffee and some choc and just relax, I promise to be gentle with you all. I hope you all enjoy the day, as it's live from the markets who knows what will come up. And as you know I talk plain English with none of that idiotic jargon. See you there!

If you missed this one you can book the next on Monday Feb 3rd near Heathrow. Start the new year with a new resolution: trade the naked trader way!

Mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com for details with "February seminar interested" in the subject line. Great news is there is a massive very early bookers discount available!

Beginners and improvers welcome! Come and spend the day with me, the markets and some lovely people - and of course, lunch!

My seminars are designed for beginners, dabblers and improvers and deals with everything from how to look for winners, how to research, spreadbetting, level 2 use how to time trades and short, how to use advfn properly and run your portfolio without having to spend money on systems and tipsters.. and tons more.

A lot of the day comes directly from the live markets and I show you many of the tricks I use to get good prices live. And there might even be the odd live trade or 2!

**Follow Ups**

Follow Up Dates

with me and all day research, timing, direct access and attempts to find new trades etc. Next date TBA, probably in March or April.

And Sunday Dec 15th for a Technical Analysis seminar with top trader Susan and myself, find out how to use basic TA techniques to improve your entry and exits and how to use it for shorter-term trades.

You MUST have been to one of my starter seminars to qualify for these. If you are interested email me with "follow up interested", "TA interested" or "Both interested".

Naked Trader Seminar Latest News

**** BOOKING OPEN FOR FEBRUARY 3RD
*****
Fancy spending a day with me, learning all the ways I have learned over the years to find good shares and play the markets? Well, you can at one of my seminars!
Booking is open for the Naked Trader seminar on Feb 3rd

Price is £590 plus vat. (Massive early bird discount is on offer however)
That includes three course lunch, coffees, snacks etc.
The seminar is mainly aimed at beginners and dabblers though improvers are welcome too.
Topics covered using live market feeds all day include: Market psychology, level 2 - a simple guide to how to use it for better timing; how to value companies; finding companies that are about to rise. I will also cover techniques for handling events such as the recent meltdown and volatility.
Spreadbetting: How to use it to gain an edge and go short. Market makers - how they work and how to beat them; how to stop losing money and make it instead and plenty more.
How to plan trade entries and exits - how to research companies and understand reports, plus all those niggly questions you always wanted to ask. How to set stop losses and targets. Charts and how to use them.
Also covered: Market maker tricks: How to spot tree shakes and use them in your favour, How to tell when NOT to buy a share. I use live ADVFN all day with lots of level 2 and looks at all kind of live market data.
The idea behind the seminar is SIMPLICITY. I don't use jargon or fancy words - everything is in PLAIN ENGLISH! No question is too stupid and the event is held in a friendly relaxed and supportive environment.
The idea is you will come away from the event I hope a wise and better investor with lots of new ideas. I try and translate complex topics into easy bite size pieces. I also aim for it to be entertaining as well as instructive.
If you are interested please e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "Feb seminar interested" in the subject line and I will send you full details of the event including comments from those who have come to previous seminars and you can then decide whether you would like to come. See you there!
One seminar attendee Clare wanted to write a testimonial about her experiences at the seminar which follows now!
"I've just come back buzzing from one of Robbie's seminars. What a day! He's just brilliant, and manages to pack an awful lot into one day, and with his enthusiastic and humorous delivery the day just flies by. There are no gimmicks, no sell, no "˜get-rich-quick' promises, just his own solid, sound approach which he has learnt over the years and which works.
He shows you how to minimise the risks and maximise the profits and points out the banana skins on the way. Where the seminar really comes into its own is when he teaches using live level 2. Hearing him talk through his thought processes and reasoning is invaluable, and really brings home everything from the book. He has endless patience answering peoples' questions, and really seems to care that everybody understands.
On top of that, you meet some really nice like minded people and swap e mail addresses, you're plied with
chocolates and coffee all day, have a great lunch and spend the evening getting tiddled with Robbie in the
bar afterwards! You might even get to see the amazing crocodile boots . . . .
Don't worry about the cost, it's easily worth it, and you'll soon make it back with your new-found investment skills, and in what you're no longer losing. If you're thinking of going along to his next seminar, whether you're a novice or an experienced trader, don't hesitate ""just go!
Thanks Clare, did you want the tenner in cash, or will a cheque do?

Naked Rambling

Ed Milliband's music choices for Desert Island Discs pretty much sums him up.

Though one has the suspicion there was a massive Labour party meeting to decide what the best choices would be for the party.

So... Neil Diamond (!) Aha, Take On Me, and Robbie Williams Angels.

If I was on a desert island and had to put up with those three horrible bits of music non stop my luxury item would be a gun so I could shoot myself.

I listenened to the top ten while at the gym this week. Got to be the most boring, dull and tedious line up of songs I've ever had the misfortune to hear.

And now.. number one.. Lily Allen... After a minute I thought it has got to get better than this, but no. Apparently it's the theme of the John Lewis TV ad.

I couldn't tell one boring load of dirge from another. To say Little Mix was the best of the bunch shows you the lack of anything.

Where's the energy gone from pop music? There isn't any. Nothing you could dance to, nothing unusual or interesting. Whatever happened to punk, heavy metal or disco.

And it's going to get worse with Xmas tracks on the way. X-Factor and all that. Forget the radio, time to get the I POd out.

I watched the awful Horrid Henry movie with Christopher last week and at the end they played a track by classic ska group Bad Manners. Totally forgotton about them. Brilliant. I spent half an hour on youtube listening to Lip up Fatty, Lorraine and ending up with the can can... ah those were the days!

At the risk of invoking the wrath of Dr Who fans, I just don't get it - and it's not because I hate sci fi, I liked Star Trek.

I never see a bad review of Dr Who, everyone seems to love it but it is lost on me, and it doesn't help trying it again after the brilliant Breaking Bad.

But... seriously I have tried. There is no drama, no comedy, it's all too smug wink wink nudge nudge, people in silly costumes. None of the adversaries are scary not even the Daleks (just stick a shopping bag over their plunger ha ha try and kill me now tin can)

And I know it is horrid when someone slags off your favourite show. I don't hate it. I just think, why am I wasting time sitting watching this, life is too short. (Sorry).

Homeland limps on a bit, you've really got to go with it or the plot holes will get you.

As if the head of the CIA would have a computer at home with all his stuff on it that someone could just walk in and steal.

Never mind Brody's back so who knows.

I'm a C*** continues, I just fast forward through to the bits when they get the bugs on them..

All the participants are playing the parts they've been assigned to. I couldn't watch a whole show live but cut it down to 5 mins of people being scared of bugs and it's great...

Breaking Bad the final 8 episodes have arrived. The Mrs asked me to wait till she catches up but she is just starting series two I don't think I can wait...

Maybe I should pretend I haven't watched them but watch them secretly or am I breaking bad...

Gary writes :
"For throwing your heart, soul and energy into one fact-packed, full-on and exhaustingly educational day: FIVE stars with no hesitation!!
Met some really nice people too - like me, nervous that it was the most we'd ever spent on a whole day of anything (had we made arses of ourselves?) But no one felt short-changed, especially when you were still going strong when we all wanted to go to bed! One of your delegates, Susan, back for a second time, said to me unequivocally, "you will go away absolutely inspired." I can't disagree.
Thanks Gary, hope you make some money!

Duane writes:
Wanted to say a big thank you to you and Mrs NT for an amazing day of learning and fun at your seminar.

The way you explained the share trading from start to finish was understandable and really interesting, well worth the seminar fee!
It was great to hear such down to earth and honest assessment from a successful trader like yourself. The way you explained everything was good revision from your book and gave further insight into successful share trading.

I particularly liked your live trades and going through your accounts when you gave snippets of why you invested in certain shares and why you kept/dumped them. Also helpful was the way you searched for prospective shares and within minutes discounted them or put them on a short list for further examination and correct entry points. Amazing!
You could really tell that you loved doing what you do and your energy levels to keep going till 10pm was well....... I had to leave at 9pm I was shattered!

Thanks again Robbie I am keen to put into practice what you have taught me. Even though you make squillions from your trades and I am sure don't need to do the seminars for financial gain, but please keep doing those seminars for newbies like me!

Thanks Duane! Don't expect to be doing them foreever but very rewarding for me to help people so expect to carry on for a while longer.
Gabriel writes:
If you are reading this, you are perhaps considering going on one of Robbie's Seminars. You maybe asking yourself (like I did) the testimonials are all well and good but once the euphoria and excitement of attending a Seminar has died down ..... and I am back home in my normal routine and faced with the "graft" of putting it all into practice... will I become a better trader and be financially better off?
Let me tell you that in my case it certainly has!
Book your place pretty sharpish....... is what I say !

Thanks Gabriel!

Terry writes:
Fantastic seminar.

I have always been sceptical of the public testaments you see on web sites
saying how great an event was. Now I'm one of those people!. I
genuinely believe that the tips and techniques as well as the overall
approach you demonstrated will radically improve my trading performance

Thanks Terry, well all the testaments are real but know what you mean and glad you feel it was worth it!
Stephen writes:
I read your book and did the course - and I wasn't sure if I'd recoup the cost, it's been 2 years and I've made £38k + saved a loss transferring a Jupiter ISA heavily invested in BP. I can't tell you how important this is or how grateful I am. That's just me, who knows how much people have made with your help and saved by not making mistakes. I wanted to get into shares as they recovered after the crunch, but I assumed I had to put a large amount in one company I thought would make a big jump.
But what happens when you make £1m on the website, will you still do courses? I don't know how you do your ISA and SIPP investments, write the website, books, courses and answer e-mails. But please don't give it up. Couldn't you do the courses and have a standing website which gets updated with your trades say once a month so people can see what you do..

Stephen thanks so much for such a nice mail and much appreciated! Dunno about the future, I feel like I'm getting jaded. It's possible I might just reduce it all at some point to twice a month after going weekly - that would probably help. The other problem is other people's angst is getting to me and the email workload becoming overwhelming. I think after ten years it might be time for me to quit. Anyway good luck with your trades and hope you make a lot more.

Markets

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too. This includes asking me what to do with a share, what I might "think" about a share or deconstructing any of the buys I mention here. I would be grateful, see FAQ for more on this. Of course more than happy to answer general questions not related to specific shares.
Quite honestly the money keeps coming in at such a fast rate I am seriously amazed, wonder if I'm in a dream and I'd be an idiot not to start banking them soon. But then again I have banked a lot already.

I would never have imagined for a second I would make so much this year.

The ISA and spreadbet account have literally boomed up, are fit to burst and amazingly are getting back to the levels they were before I spent all the money on the new house and renovations.

And then outside the ISA there are the crazy £600,000 plus profits on TEP.

Really it is getting quite tempting to sell everything. I'd have tons of money and no debts. I could then put my feet up, stop looking at computers and spend a year reading books and watching box sets.

Maybe take a whole year off and come back to trading then. Or would I get bored? Probably. I've been doing this site since 2001. How's about a year off and come back in 2015? I'm tempted. I really am.

Of course when things are going to well you've got to be careful. The market likes nothing more than to boot you in the nasty place the minute you get smug. So I have an eye open for a market downturn.

If there is one, I'll cut a lot into cash and do my usual FTSE shorting.

Well it was an amazing November for me - I made more than £80,000 well on paper at any rate.

The latter bit of Nov and the first bit of Dec is usually bad and I'm eyeing up making a few buys early December for the usual Xmas rally.

I like Seeing Machines (SEE) - packed a lot away in my SIPP a month ago as those of you who get the mail know at around 5p and today I bought some for the ISA after weakness getting 50,000 this morning at 6.7 .

lt looks like it is going places and winning some decent contracts. This is the kind of share that could easily double and could well do even better than that if its technology pays off.

It creates face and eye technology. For example in mining it can tell whether a driver is too tired and so stops terrible accidents and it also has cash and an alliance with Caterpillar - possibly the company of the future?

Also can you imagine how helpful this would be to the haulage industry and road safety. Definitely worth a gamble for me and it is a gamble as of course this is all at an early stage. However if this become mainstream this is a potential multi-gainer and I hope I am in early on one with such good potential.

I've bought Hangar 8 (HGR8) a company in a similar sector Avation has already done well for me and this one could join it I hope.

I got at 2,500 at 206 today. Nice statement from this one which is one of the largest operators of privately owned passenger jets.

And with an improving economy and people flashing the cash temporarily it looks good.

It's had a strong run recently and its statement was very bullish. One that could really take off and head up towards three quid in time. Certainly looks worth a bit more than the current £19m and I'd have thought a nice run up to 250 then 300 is a good bet.

I've bagged some new shares in BTG - well actually a spreadbet this time as my ISA had no cash left. I've been holding this one for 5 years and generally forget about it but bought at 121 in 2008 and with the shares over 500 it has been a nice one to hold and forget about.

However it has now come to my attention again yesterday when it announced the authorities had approved its foam treatment for patients with varicose veins.

This is a massive market - I wish I had got in ahead of the market but the share is currently being rerated and I got my spreadbet on at 514. This one could easily head up to the 700 area.

I've also taken up most of my rights to buy new Telecom Plus shares at 1475 - seems crazy not to given they are 1800!

My buy last week in Applied Graphene Materials....

Well OMG actually let's upgrade that to WTF.

When I bought these last week at 206 I commented I thought they could double. I was kind of thinking doubling in say a year. Not 2 DAYS! And it wasn't even some kind of weird bubble, there is massive interest and it is still double as I write!

I mean I know this could end up a big one, and use in condoms could really make the share price harden some more.

But frankly if the market is giving you a near 150% rise in a couple of days, you gotta take it no?

So I sold three quarters of them at 472 and 473 and a bit. I kept a few though in case they go even higher.

However for the site because I'm lazy I'm closing the whole position for a profit of £5,340. It's crazily volatile now, but I would be interested in buying back at the right price, though goodness knows what that is!

Accumuli has done really well for me - it raced up past 22p this week giving me a massive profit - some giant buying around 20p this week really gave it a push and results are expected sometime next week. Looks like it could be a bid target.

But.. I really couldn't quite resist topslicing some which I did at 22.26 to close out one of the website's positions for a profit of £3.035

Seemed sensible to bank some and keep hold of the rest for hopefully further gains to come. And maybe if it dips next week on results, could be a nice moment to top up!

It would be surprising if results were terrible giving the big buying. Let's hope a bid is coming!

That is profits banked this time of £8,375

Elsewhere

Another amazing week for the portfolio this week especially with Telecom Plus busting up still further hitting nearly 1900 !! it went ex dividend today so on top of all those gains in a couple of weeks I'll get a giant cheque for nearly £8 grand! Those of you with spreadbet and cfd accounts would have had the money credited today.

And it now means I have a massive stake in there worth nearly £700,000.

The open positions on the website now total profits of £270,000. Now who said buy and hold doesn't work?

They did a stunning deal - buying its energy companies from N Power for £218m. A real forward thinking move that will not only raise profits substantially but mean they can really go for much lower energy prices really challenging the big six suppliers with lower prices

If you'd like to go with them for energy and telephony let me know as I have been a distributor for them since 1998. If you do go with them via me not only do you get cheaper energy and telephony but you get my weekly email with
all the website stuff sent to early in your inbox and also higher risk buys made in my sipp

Mail me if interested at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "mail offer" in the subject line.

I'm considering taking the mega profits in Coastal Energy but was just waiting a bit in case of a counter bid...

Wow, Telit has been a sensational mover this week and is now trying to hit the 200 mark, a lovely trade so far!

Renew came up with sparking results which has pushed the share price nicely higher, more to come!

Royal Mail was definitely priced too low by that silly duffer Vince Cable, ridiculous that someone like him who has no business knowledge at all is business secretary. Up today on good results. The real reason they priced it low was not to scare PI's away from the sales of Lloyds and RBS next year.

The buyback of Avation really worked well, a nice price rise there, 135 is the area it needs to clear to take off again.

Kromek has moved nicely and a decent statement today regarding airport security.

My long-term stake in IP Group has moved higher, well more than doubled now - it has a stake in Applied Graphic Materials which is really helping!

Regeneris has had a brilliant week shooting up and managed to conquer the 300 mark, what a great trade that has been! Looking very strong this week.

Arrow bought up some of the student debt though it didn't seem to shift the share price much.

Infinis has been disappointing and sticks around the IPO price. Sticking with it for now.

The Carpetshite short may possibily be about to payout, dips under 600 - the shares aren't worth more than 300 at best. Someone is going to crack.
32 Red has had a brilliant time - up another good ten per cent this week and it looks like my original buy is going to be a doubler.

Kentz has been rising again. Perhaps the fact the big didn't go through is good news as in time a new bidder might have to pay an awful lot more.

Cohort has had a great couple of weeks an zoomed up over 2 quid.

Entertainment One has had a nice run higher and a statement this week shows it is on course for more.

GB continues to push up and this one has more or less become a doubler for me.

So what can I say? An amazing month! And an amazing year.

*** Two Newer Spreadfirms I Use

FOR SMALL COMPANIES:

It is hard to find a firm that does prices on the very small companies but this company does:

http://www.spreadex.com/nakedtrader

It does spreads on smaller ones other companies don't like Dillistone so worth having an account for that, been using it for a while and very happy so far.
***
TIGHEST SPREAD FOR TRADING THE FTSE/DOW ETC

If you're into trading indices this one is the cheapest with just a 0.8 spread which is fantastic - execution is top too

www.spreadco.com/nakedtrader

I've been testing out a new spreadbet firm over the last year. I just won't recommend anything unless I have really tested it over a long time and now happy to endorse it especially for any bets on indicies as the spread is only 0.8 on stuff like the FTSE.
Also they don't seem to do any messing about in stopping winning trades from being executed which has been known with a few of the firms which I totally refuse to endorse.
Execution of trades have been spot on as has account management and a robust system too. I really can't find fault with it.

If you start using them and find any problems please let me know.
I've been getting e-mails regarding my use of direct market access and who I use. I've tried a few and for me the easiest system for me is here:
http://www.ig.com/nakedtradercfds

Direct market access means you can place orders directly onto the order book bypassing brokers and market-makers with a chance to buy at the "sell" price. I would suggest you ensure you know what you're doing first but IG does provide much education with its "tradesense" educational tool which comes with it.
I also use its spreadbetting service too along with other firms like Tradefair because it now provides trailing stops which to me is a pretty sensible way of trading. Also with this link there is an excellent education programme and it offers the biggest range of smaller shares.

As usual before opening accounts please read all the warnings on the sites. You can lose a lot of money if you're not careful so pay close attention to them and make sure you always understand what you are doing and what your potential losses are.

Capital Spreads offer

Capital Spreads offers a really excellent book on spreadbetting for those who open accounts through the link below. Spreads are very tight and every trade has to have a stop loss which is excellent discipline to have especially for beginners. Execution is really good I find and they also allow shorts on shares it is hard to get shorts on like say Carpetright or facebook.

E-mail subscription service

If you want to get the contents of The Naked Trader website into your mailbox instead of waiting for the update to come through, plus exclusively news on the progress of my SIPP from the old Sunday Times column inc new higher risk Aim buys made for that, e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with SIPP in the subject line for details of how to get it.

Telecom Plus Offer

Want to quit the rat race? Try and start a new source of income so one day you can tell the boss to stuff it? You could do what I did to escape my grotty office job and become an independent distributor for the Utilities Discount Warehouse.
You get to sell great broadband, phone packages and energy to friends, relatives, contacts and anyone else you find and you get cash for each sale but more importantly you get a cut of their spend EVERY MONTH for as long as they are a customer!
It's called residual income and is a far better way to enjoy a ripe old age than relying on a pension. Because even after you stop selling the money STILL comes in!
I still get paid EVERY MONTH for sales I made back in 1999! Every time a customer uses broadband or the phone or switches on a light you get paid.
It's a great business and backed by a stock market company (Telecom Plus), a dedicated team of advisors.. and me to help you on your way!
Not only do you get paid out every month for each customer you can take on distributors. encourage them like I do and get paid on their sales as well.
One day, say you could made redundant, needed a year off or wanted to retire early can you imagine what joy it is to have the regular income coming in. It's wonderful.
You have to work at it, but if you do genuine repeat wealth could be yours. I did it. You can too. For full details, why not email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com.
An overview is also available at http://www.utilitywarehouse.org.uk/fabdeal you can sign up directly there but do tell me! (Click become a distributor and follow links)

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets
on Wednesday afternoons.
