Learning new words
The all new edition of my book Naked Trader 3 is out now !!!
Lots of new strategies including my top 20, lots more mistakes to avoid, loads of new trader tales, cartoons and a bit of fun too.
I hope you all enjoy it - and can tell I put a lot of effort into it and I really hope if it just stops one person from making the mistakes I did it will be worthwhile.
Indeed I hope the book is worth it even if you read about other people's stories, it is amazing how so many make exactly the same mistakes.
Anyhow if you buy it I hope you enjoy it! Click here:

Site Takes A Break For Easter And Half Term Back April 18Th
** I just booked a new date for the next seminar it will be on May 18th, more details below, early booking discount currently available! **
Christopher told me on the way to football that mummy had taught him two new words while she drove him to school that morning.
I was pretty impressed. Learning words in the car on the way to school... better than me, I just play I spy...
"Which words did she teach you?" I asked.
"T*** and a
," said Christopher seriously.
"What do they mean, she shouted them quite loudly at other people on the road..."
Well, she is right, there are a lot of t**** and a
on the road, no doubt about it!
On the same kind of subject, just back from dinner with the Camerons. Cost me £50 grand...
And you know what these Michelin starred places are like. 50k for one lamb chop, a roast potato, half a carrot and a teaspoon of gravy.
The type of posh meal that makes you go straight to the kebab shop afterwards to fill up.
Still, I told Cameron what I wanted so it might be worth it...
I suggested a top rate of tax of 20p for all at home traders, removal of stamp duty and capital gains tax on share dealing..
And.. a subsidy for all level 2 users, and a special bonus for all us traders for working over the Olympics...
I suggested on Capital Gains Tax if we have to pay up tax if we win, then the Government has to pay up if we lose..
What do you think? Worth it for 50k? Just thank me when all these new laws come into force soon...
Memo to tax office: "I lost 20k this week, I expect your cheque for 8k for your share of the loss by the end of the week please..."
Well, a long half-term is here as is Easter so the website is having a half-term/Easter break but I will be back with regular updates from April 18th... in the meantime I do wish you all a cracking holiday season, I hope you all enjoy yourselves.
Life is short, get out there and try and have some sort of adventure, do something new, do something bold! There, some advice from an old fart.
This time last year we went to Florida, this time we're going in October. So Easter in the UK for a change. This is going to involve a lot of football in the park. (No I am not going in goal).
The weather so far has been amazing so Florida hasn't been needed and I'm not missing those scary Disney rides...
And there will be a lot of pinball playing because at last the pinball machine is here! Yes, I have a fully working Judge Dredd pinball machine and we've been having great fun with it. Top score so far 120 million.
A nice chap up in Leeds has reburbished the giant machine for me (It was £1,200 but worth every penny)
Nothing like coming home after watching Fulham lose to see three young lads (Christopher and his two mates) enjoying pinball. Better than them playing violent war games on their I things.
I really wanted a Judge Dredd one (based on an old comic hero) because it reminded me of some good times in the early 90s.
Then I was a professional horse race gambler during the day (ie lazy layabout) and sometimes worked overnight shifts for CNN
The shifts were 8pm-6am. Two of us in the newsroom. Given hardly anything ever happened overnight one of us used to play games on the computer while the other one had a kip under the desk. Before that we were so bored we'd often have a bet on the 9.30 greyhound race from Hackney!
Then it was a scamble at 5am to actually do some work before the scary boss arrived at 6am and we could scarper.
But often I'd go out into the London night, sit in Bar Italia and watch the nightlife and then wander into a pinball arcade off Oxford Street.
And my favourite machine was Judge Dredd. Multiball heaven.
There was one night we had to work though. The night OJ Simpson went bonkers and lead a police chase up a motorway. That was surreal.
I used to finish the shift off with a McDonalds Egg McMuffin on the way home to bed.
Great to meet many of you at last week's seminar. As usual a range of very interesting people.
Including a stress counsellor. I wonder whether he was really there for the seminar or to pick up some new customers!
There were so many different types of people, for example a doctor, a plumber, a pilot, retired, student, builder, dentist... the list is endless. It's great to see people from all walks of life making friends.
A very attentive audience if I might say so. And judged by some of the questions I asked near the end, an audience that really paid attention and a lot had sunk in, especially about level 2, the hardest bit.
You should all have the seminar notes by now, do mail me if they didn't arrive, but check your spam folders first!
The notes include stuff that happened live if you left a bit earlier than the very late finish!
I was flattered to see so many of you left so late in the evening when even I couldn't take any more...
Thanks for whoever bought me a drink at the bar and enjoyed the whole day very much myself. Even though I nearly keeled over in the bar with tiredness and spent the whole weekend comatose..
Thanks for the lovely feedback.. I won't publish most of it but it was along the lines of a para I pulled from one person..
"I knew absolutely zip about level 2. You explained it brilliantly and I now have the utmost confidence that with level 2 in my arsenal I will be able to go on and achieve greater profits over the coming years. You are a very genuine, nice, down to earth guy, and had me in stitches all day."
I think that summed up the day, much learned, some interesting finds and live trades, but also some fun and laughs too!
Another feedback: "I really enjoyed the day and would definitely recommend it to anyone serious about building a portfolio and or/going into trading. It was refreshing to hear a no B/S view on how to trade and made your books come to life I suppose. I will be using your trading sheets from now on and will be making the purchase of level 2 very shortly. As you rightly point out, I don't think you can trade successfully without it."
Anyway enough of that kind of thing! if you missed this seminar the next one is on May 18th
And the good news is at this early stage there is a decent discount for early bookers!
For details, email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "May seminar interested" in the subject line. I'll send you everything that I cover and all about the day itself. In a short time you could be (I hope) enjoying a day with me and live markets.
Beginners and improvers welcome! Come and spend the day with me, the markets and some lovely people - and of course, lunch!
If you mail me I will then send you details and a full agenda of what is covered. Also more details below somewhere.
My seminars are designed for beginners, dabblers and improvers and deals with everything from how to look for winners, how to research, spreadbetting, level 2 use how to time trades and short, how to use advfn properly and run your portfolio without having to spend money on systems and tipsters.. and tons more.
A lot of the day comes directly from the live markets and I show you many of the tricks I use to get good prices live. And there might even be the odd live trade or 2!
There is a new electronic spreadbetting magazine been launched which is pretty good, the new issue is out, here is a link to it..

I read an excellent stock market thriller on holiday,
"The Fear Index" by Robert Harris.
A maths genius joins a hedge fund and together they create a monster trading robot giving it billions to play with.
The robot starts to short everything and starts to cause massive market crashes. Then takes on a mind of its own.
Plenty of excellent page turning stuff here, if you are a trader or investor a lot of it will ring true with the robots almost already in charge of some shares!
There's tons of drama and action and I couldn't put it down though it helps as it is a thriller about the markets!
If you're into the markets you'll love it.. here's an order link to the book:

Enjoy the read!!

An interesting email from a reader. The thrust of it was he was going to buy a share after doing a lot of research but then it went up 12% and he hadn't bought it yet. So he felt angry.
How does he stop/halt the feelings of anger?
Well, you have to take the emotion out of trading. Which isn't easy.
I suggested he should read this book.. by Jason Zweig
http://books.global-investor.com/books/256158.htm?ginPtrCode=10453
This is the one to read on psychology. Great read.

Spreadbetting firm Tradefair Spreads has upped its offer exclusively to Naked Trader readers to a £100 credit. This offer is exclusive to me and not available anywhere else...
I've been using them for a few weeks to check that I'm happy with the service. As you know I don't take ads or allow referrals on the site unless it's a company I've used and I feel confident about.
What I like about it is it's easy to use, spreads are surprisingly tight on the smaller companies and interestingly an automated stop loss is applied to each trade - so beginners know what their max loss is from the outset.
Anyway they now offer a £100 credit as long as you deposit £100. You get the credit after you placed 5 trades (Terms and conditions apply)
If you'd like to apply for an account with Tradefair Spreads and get the freebie click this link:

I use IG Index for betting on the very small companies, the only spreadbet firm I can find that does the smaller ones making it possible to trade AIM cos tax free.

Many of you enjoy the cheap advfn toplists bronze deal through me as do many of you with the cheap level 2. However many of you say you want a half-way house to include real-time share prices always on.
So I'm pleased to announce I've managed to seal a new deal with Advfn for its "Silver" service - that's always on real-time share prices for a good saving (Bronze toplists etc are included in this).
The deal is via me you can save £30 for your first year by paying just £145 inc vat via me instead of £173.71
Just mail me for full details if you'd like it with "silver" in the subject line.
They've just re-published "The Zulu Principle" by Jim Slater who's written a 2008 update at the beginning.
This is a brilliant classic book. Reading this is a real pleasure and it was a great idea to republish.
Jim believes like I do the best gains can come from smaller stocks and in an easy to read style takes you through how to evaluate smaller companies that are about to become bigger ones - he uses some excellent examples.
Really this is a must read for all more longer-term investors or anyone looking to grow their money... a number of you have also written to me about this book and praising it.
Here is the link to buy it:

Here's a very topical one: The Little Book of Bull Moves in Bear Markets by Peter Schiff.
The book is all about how to keep portfolios up in a down market. He focusses a lot on how to play commodities and win with some sensible advice especially on natural resources and precious metals. He is very much a realist and there is no rubbish here: some straight talking and some interesting strategies.
Everyone who invests should think seriously about keeping portfolios up in bad times so this book should be read.
Well worth picking up at this link:

Several people have asked me for a recommendation on a book which shows how to study accounts in a reasonably easy way. The one I like the most is http://books.global-investor.com/books/15717.htm?ginPtrCode=10453 by Robert Leach. Ten crunch questions to ask before buying any company.
It' s a decent easy-to-read book with several key chapters and it's highly recommended. It's one I keep and dip into from time to time. To order, click this link... http://books.global-investor.com/books/15717.htm?ginPtrCode=10453
The best book on charting and easiest read on the subject is http://books.global-investor.com/books/15618.htm?ginPtrCode=10453 by Alistair Blair. Click here -> http://books.global-investor.com/books/15618.htm?ginPtrCode=10453
Another good one is the second edition of http://books.global-investor.com/books/23792.htm?ginPtrCode=10453 by Peter Temple. Included in this one is how to use spreadbetting, CFD's warrants and trackers to reduce risk. And there are some decent trading strategies too.
This is an excellent book for new investors and also experienced ones. It explains all the things you may not be sure about in the markets and will explain the tools that are there. Naked Trader Seminar Latest News
Fancy spending a day with me, learning all the ways I have learned over the years to find good shares and play the markets? Well, you can at one of my seminars!
Booking is open for the Naked Trader seminar on Friday May 18th
Price is £590 plus vat. There is an early bookers discount available.
That includes three course lunch, coffees, snacks etc.
The seminar is mainly aimed at beginners and dabblers though improvers are welcome too.
Topics covered using live market feeds all day include: Market psychology, level 2 - a simple guide to how to use it for better timing; how to value companies; finding companies that are about to rise. I will also cover techniques for handling events such as the recent meltdown and volatility.
Spreadbetting: How to use it to gain an edge and go short. Market makers - how they work and how to beat them; how to stop losing money and make it instead and plenty more.
How to plan trade entries and exits - how to research companies and understand reports, plus all those niggly questions you always wanted to ask. How to set stop losses and targets. Charts and how to use them.
Also covered: Market maker tricks: How to spot tree shakes and use them in your favour, How to tell when NOT to buy a share. I use live ADVFN all day with lots of level 2 and looks at all kind of live market data.
The idea behind the seminar is SIMPLICITY. I don't use jargon or fancy words - everything is in PLAIN ENGLISH! No question is too stupid and the event is held in a friendly relaxed and supportive environment.
The idea is you will come away from the event I hope a wise and better investor with lots of new ideas. I try and translate complex topics into easy bite size pieces. I also aim for it to be entertaining as well as instructive.
If you are interested please e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "seminar interested" in the subject line and I will send you full details of the event including comments from those who have come to previous seminars and you can then decide whether you would like to come. See you there!
One seminar attendee Clare wanted to write a testimonial about her experiences at the seminar which follows now!
"I've just come back buzzing from one of Robbie's seminars. What a day! He's just brilliant, and manages to pack an awful lot into one day, and with his enthusiastic and humorous delivery the day just flies by. There are no gimmicks, no sell, no "˜get-rich-quick' promises, just his own solid, sound approach which he has learnt over the years and which works.
He shows you how to minimise the risks and maximise the profits and points out the banana skins on the way. Where the seminar really comes into its own is when he teaches using live level 2. Hearing him talk through his thought processes and reasoning is invaluable, and really brings home everything from the book. He has endless patience answering peoples' questions, and really seems to care that everybody understands.
On top of that, you meet some really nice like minded people and swap e mail addresses, you're plied with
chocolates and coffee all day, have a great lunch and spend the evening getting tiddled with Robbie in the
bar afterwards! You might even get to see the amazing crocodile boots . . . .
Don't worry about the cost, it's easily worth it, and you'll soon make it back with your new-found investment skills, and in what you're no longer losing. If you're thinking of going along to his next seminar, whether you're a novice or an experienced trader, don't hesitate ""just go!
Thanks Clare, did you want the tenner in cash, or will a cheque do?
£100 Tradefair offer

Naked Rambling
They have just said sod the European courts and thrown out their terrorist.
We should do the same. You're a terrorist or anti UK and want to live here? Tough. Out you go.
Why are we scared of a european court? What are they going to do. Sue us? Chuck them all out and see how they enjoy life in their own countries.
Some great news! Chocolate is now okay..
Apparently researchers say those that eat some choc every day are slimmer than those that don't.
Honestly.... right, where's that twix?
Want to make some quick money? Buy loads of first class stamps! They are going up by a whopping 14p shortly!
Get as many as you can while you can.. especially if you send loads of cards at Xmas.
Though don't hold them for too many years. I give it ten years or less before the post is history.
There is hardly any need for it already. And soon we will have machines at home where the letter will be delivered to us without the need for anyone to stick it in the post.
Packages and other stuff will just be sent by private companies.
A few years after that a machine at home will make any product you want.
After months of dire TV suddenly there is a load of good stuff to watch!
Let's start with the best, Mad Men is back, Tuesdays Sky Atlantic...
As good as ever! You just knew the happy start would mean an unhappy ending as Don remains at the heart of it all.
His new marriage isn't going to last. It's not just about that of course, the amazing sets, great dialogue and slow burning plots/office politics make is a must see.
And who was the genius that came up with the idea of showing vintage ads during the ad breaks,.. that was great.
Though sad to say I remember some of them! And would they get away with the flake one today!
The Apprentice was as entertaining as ever even though we know it's all a load of cobblers really.
Lord Sir A must already know who's going to win it as he knows what sort of business each hapless contestant wants to start - he will just go with the best one of those.
In the meantime though we can continue having a laugh at the inflated egos. I think they need to dump Karen, she doesn't bring anything to the party.
Homeland continues to intrigue but I bet the baddie is the head of the FBI .. he is the only one where the finger has not been pointed yet. I hope the denoument won't be a disappointment.
Britain's Got Talent's formula is a little tiring so best taped and fast forwarded.. still entertaining if a touch exploitative.
Four Rooms is a great show for traders! It is really all about psychology. What price would you pay for something?
Can you get a really good price using a bit of charm? A very interesting show indeed.
The spreadbetting firm I use for sports betting is here:
Via this link Open a Sporting Index account and there's £100 cash offer - please check terms and conditions which apply.
http://www.sportingindex.com/?tpid=6755
Do remember if you do bet you ought to treat sports spreadbetting as entertainment - and expect to lose! Also with spreadbetting work out what your max loss could be and make sure you can afford it! In other words if you say backed the favourite at 15 for a fiver and they come nowhere your max loss is £75.

Agree about facebook - the youngsters who leapt onboard when it started,
posting dire photos of them doing things they shouldn't are now grown up and
getting on in their careers and errrrrr wondering if that photo of them
mooning in the disco in Majorca was a good idea!
Nice to think I am not the only unsociable grump to not want to follow the
minutiae of my friends and colleagues mostly boring lives!
I am in the states just now and feel the Starbucks asking name thing is just
more marketing bollocks to get them noticed. If they just speeded up the
service I might go there but americans seem to need all this 'service
bollocks' to make them think they are getting their moneys worth.
Thanks Anne,
well of course I agree, it's nearly all bollocks!
Duane writes:
Wanted to say a big thank you to you and Mrs NT for an amazing day of learning and fun at your seminar.
The way you explained the share trading from start to finish was understandable and really interesting, well worth the seminar fee!
It was great to hear such down to earth and honest assessment from a successful trader like yourself. The way you explained everything was good revision from your book and gave further insight into successful share trading.
I particularly liked your live trades and going through your accounts when you gave snippets of why you invested in certain shares and why you kept/dumped them. Also helpful was the way you searched for prospective shares and within minutes discounted them or put them on a short list for further examination and correct entry points. Amazing!
You could really tell that you loved doing what you do and your energy levels to keep going till 10pm was well....... I had to leave at 9pm I was shattered!
Thanks again Robbie I am keen to put into practice what you have taught me. Even though you make squillions from your trades and I am sure don't need to do the seminars for financial gain, but please keep doing those seminars for newbies like me!
Thanks Duane! Don't expect to be doing them foreever but very rewarding for me to help people so expect to carry on for a while longer.
Gabriel writes:
If you are reading this, you are perhaps considering going on one of Robbie's Seminars. You maybe asking yourself (like I did) the testimonials are all well and good but once the euphoria and excitement of attending a Seminar has died down ..... and I am back home in my normal routine and faced with the "graft" of putting it all into practice... will I become a better trader and be financially better off?
Let me tell you that in my case it certainly has!
Book your place pretty sharpish....... is what I say !
Thanks Gabriel!
Terry writes:
Fantastic seminar.
I have always been sceptical of the public testaments you see on web sites
saying how great an event was. Now I'm one of those people!. I
genuinely believe that the tips and techniques as well as the overall
approach you demonstrated will radically improve my trading performance
Thanks Terry, well all the testaments are real but know what you mean and glad you feel it was worth it!
Stephen writes:
I read your book and did the course - and I wasn't sure if I'd recoup the cost, it's been 2 years and I've made £38k + saved a loss transferring a Jupiter ISA heavily invested in BP. I can't tell you how important this is or how grateful I am. That's just me, who knows how much people have made with your help and saved by not making mistakes. I wanted to get into shares as they recovered after the crunch, but I assumed I had to put a large amount in one company I thought would make a big jump.
But what happens when you make £1m on the website, will you still do courses? I don't know how you do your ISA and SIPP investments, write the website, books, courses and answer e-mails. But please don't give it up. Couldn't you do the courses and have a standing website which gets updated with your trades say once a month so people can see what you do..
Stephen thanks so much for such a nice mail and much appreciated! Dunno about the future, I feel like I'm getting jaded. It's possible I might just reduce it all at some point to twice a month after going weekly - that would probably help. The other problem is other people's angst is getting to me and the email workload becoming overwhelming. I think after ten years it might be time for me to quit. Anyway good luck with your trades and hope you make a lot more.
I have 3 great offers from ADVFN.

Markets
Just to mention to those of you who don't read my burblings above, due to half term duties, I take a break from site updates but back on April 18th.
Well, markets for now seem to feel 6000 is just too high and perhaps 5750 too low so it seems the current 5750-6000 range could continue for a while. There continues to be buying on the bottom of bad days so some hope! A fall below 5750 though would be a worry.
Every time fear strikes in the heart of traders and they sell, it has been time to buy... this has been the case all year so far.
And while it would not be unreasonable to expect falls, as usual it is always better to follow the market not try and guess it. Excuses for falls right now seem to be China slowdown and Portugal/Spanish troubles.
Still, it's been another excellent week for the portfolio and I am very happy indeed with this year so far, some really big and quick gains. Plus quite a lot of profits have been banked.
As those of you who came to the seminar last week know I have plenty of trades "in waiting" - but I have the patience in the main to wait for a good price, or the price I want. So it's a question of waiting and watching and I am rather hopeful indeed that a couple of bad days on the market will bring me into the market for these trades.
Some brave buys on bad squeaky bum days could pay off this year!
I bought some more Kentz (KENZ) on what looked like a manipulative move down by persons unknown to knock out stops before results, getting another tenner on the spreads at 429 to add to what is now a very substantial holding.
I'd be quite surprised now if Kentz was not taken out sometime in the next two years and I suspect a takeout price of 650 not unreasonable. Indeed some brokers are already targetting 600p without a bid, so if a bid is further down the line, could be even bigger gains. Every oil services company I've been in that got bid for got a bid at a very substantial premium. The results were perfectly fine and it continues to look cheap with a massive cash pile. I've doubled my money on my original holding. It could go down a bit in a down market but I think the value will eventually come out. Patience required!
I've been waiting to buy Optos (OPTS) for a while, hoping to get in in the early 200s. However it has been hard work trying to get any in that area and I missed 210 a few times. But taken the chance and I got some at 219 live at the seminar instead. The problem here is there is huge resistance against the price going higher than 225. But looking at the figures it is nearly time for a re-rating. The company is doing well selling equipment that spots diseases via an eye scan.
Fundamentals look good here and the company is growing nicely - the good news about the trade is if 225 can be breached then a rise to 250 looks to be on the cards. If worst comes to worst it will dip back to 210 ish at which point I would top up.
I've shorted Wolfson (WLF) - a tech company that has doubled in price recently - looks chipped out at near 200 so I've shorted it at 188. Always a bit risky shorting a tech stock but with a tightish stop any damage should be minimal.
Onto some profit taking.
Anite hit its target way quicker than I could possibly have imagined so grabbed the profit at 129 for a profit of £525. I like this company a lot but the 130 target looks about right for now, and I would hope to buy back lower for another run.
In a bit of total luck, I closed the position one time too many and unknown to me I had gone short! So I am now short and in good profit on that by mistake. I think it happened because I pressed sell one time too many, a fat finger trade. You've got to laugh. I'm going to bank the lucky profit on that any moment.
The rise in Petra was too much for me not to bag, and out at 185 for a profit of £1,440. And I also bagged some final prrofit in Supergroup banked at 638 for a profit of £630.
And I've banked the last of the Afren at 135 on the basis 140 looks to be very heavy resistance for now, and that's a profit banked of £1,250
That's total profits banked for the site this week of £3,845.
Portfolio Highlights
The averaging down in APR worked (so far) and it's back over 900 after its fall to 830. Which puts me in an overall profit. I think it's worth giving them the benefit of the doubt on the account delay. May sell a few before new results on the 16th just to be on the safe side! However if results are okay it could easily head back over a tenner.
Nice-looking statement from Vislink yesterday where I am up 70% or so. It has also cracked 30p on that - looks an excellent turnaround story. All looks on track here and if the management achieves what it said it will, there is another 30%, maybe more in it!
I see some big buying coming into Vislink since the report yesterday and one broker reckons the company is worth at least 41p. Looks like it's going to be a doubler for me.
Costain has been a bit disappointing so far - still only a little under and with patience it should come good.
The Ocado short goes well as does the Dignity swing short.
Recent buy Trifast goes well and hope to see it conquer 50p. Zotefoams and CML have both broken out and look very strong, producing good profits though they are quiet for now. Indeed CML is going up yet again today - can it crack 300p?
Zotefoams saw some very big trades go through yesterday and another nice rise, I wonder if it can bust through 200?
IP Group continues to do the business. IP has a more than 20% holding in Oxford Nanopore which has made the world's first hand held DNA sequencer, probably worth a fortune for the company. Given this and other brilliant companies in IP's portfolio looks like a likely even bigger winner this year and I don't see why 150 should not be reached.
I sometimes forget about shares if they are going up gently so hallo to RWS which has been quietly doing the business for me up about 100 points on that one, I hope another 40 to go before I bank what will be a very nice profit, assuming nothing horrible happens along the way.
Recent buy Low and Bonar continues its good run bought it in the mid 40s and now pushing 60p . Recent topup Vitec goes really well and rises fast now. As does Nicols.
Greencore (GNC) continues to go well, and is now in the FTSE 250. It came up later on in the seminar on a scan. A tremendous rise, I must think this is on a shortlist to take profits soon though. However I do wonder whether there is a another ten % there.
Coastal Energy continues off its highs. However I still like the long-term story and I've still doubled and more so happy to continue to hold longer-term. Its main listing is in Canada where it is heavily traded and volatile so it could easily go back up as fast as it went down. It all depends on them Canadians! I'd be tempted to buy some more if it dips much under a tenner.
Dialight is really going for it again. There is simply great long-term growth here together with potential for a bid. Though results were only a little ahead of some forecasts the outlook is rosy but I have been patient all the way from 150p to 800 and as those of you who have to my seminars have seen from my accounts my profits in real life are something like £70,000. For the website profits are more than £40,000 - and of course there have been dividends on top.
Gamble Filtronic has proved a great gamble and has now doubled for me. However a statement will be needed for any further gains and it is still risky because it would crash if there was anything negative.
SVG Group has proved an excellent trade up more than 80 points now and it shows little sign of stopping its rise for now. However I think a little more say three quid it will be time to cash in..
LOQ - what a magic share it has been and keeps producing the goods and and even after its recent rise it still looks cheap. Now it is trying to crack 300 giving me a treble. Today maybe it cracked it! Carpetright continues to baffle me, how is it going higher on any possible valuation?
Nice report from Entertainment One this morning. Great company and looks undervalued. Not a lot of doubt a bid will come along for this one at some point and it is just a matter of being patient, still doubled on it.
Telecom Plus is rising again, nearly back to 700p. There was a big distributors' meeting at the weekend which apparently went well with new ideas to boost the business. including an interesting SIM card deal and £2.99 broadband. I didn't get any more on the dip as I have well over a quarter of a million quids worth which is enough! I expect to be in it for another 5 years or so and enjoy the income and the capital gain where I think the best is yet to come.
BTG reported more progress with its vein treatments, an inline report but lots of potentials in the pipeline and has bust out well over three quid and remains a nice doubler for me this year. A nice long-termer and another I'm keeping hold of.
What can I say about the wonderful Aggreko which has now doubled for me! And Petrofac, well that is a five timer now, bought in the 300s now pushing 1600 !
I've been getting e-mails regarding my use of direct market access and who I use. I've tried a few and for me the easiest system for me is here:
http://www.igmarkets.co.uk/?QPID=1079&QPPID=1
Direct market access means you can place orders directly onto the order book bypassing brokers and market-makers with a chance to buy at the "sell" price. I would suggest you ensure you know what you're doing first but IG does provide much education with its "tradesense" educational tool which comes with it.
I also use its spreadbetting service too along with other firms like Tradefair because it now provides trailing stops which to me is a pretty sensible way of trading. Also with this link there is an excellent education programme and it offers the biggest range of smaller shares.

Telecom Plus Offer
You get to sell great broadband, phone packages and energy to friends, relatives, contacts and anyone else you find and you get cash for each sale but more importantly you get a cut of their spend EVERY MONTH for as long as they are a customer!
It's called residual income and is a far better way to enjoy a ripe old age than relying on a pension. Because even after you stop selling the money STILL comes in!
I still get paid EVERY MONTH for sales I made back in 1999! Every time a customer uses broadband or the phone or switches on a light you get paid.
It's a great business and backed by a stock market company (Telecom Plus), a dedicated team of advisors.. and me to help you on your way!
Not only do you get paid out every month for each customer you can take on distributors. encourage them like I do and get paid on their sales as well.
One day, say you could made redundant, needed a year off or wanted to retire early can you imagine what joy it is to have the regular income coming in. It's wonderful.
You have to work at it, but if you do genuine repeat wealth could be yours. I did it. You can too. For full details, why not email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time.
Trades first reported Wednesday afternoons under "Markets" section..
