First congrats to Sarah for winning the NT Football fantasy
league!

I've just sent her the £100 prize. 95% of the players were blokes
so for Sarah to win is double delight.

I'm not even going to mention how badly I did.

Half term is coming up in the bank hol weekend and we'll probably head for a hol in the sun with our son so the next update to the site will be June 6th including all the news and trades from the May seminar.

Can't wait to meet you all on at the event on Monday, been reading through your questionnaire answers and no doubt about it, some very interesting people are attending.

I wasn't planning another event till the autumn but I've had quite a few mails wanting an event in June, so on the back of that booked up Friday June 28th. (That will definitely be the last till autumn, def no events in July or Aug).

If interested in June 28th mail me with "June interested" at robbiethetrader Early bird discount of the large variety on offer.

Forecast for Monday is good at 20 degrees so tubs of ice cream are ordered. Also the famous "mini" English breakfasts, live waffle making and a three course lunch plus Starbucks coffee and tea on tap all day.

It's an interesting market right now so we will be examining shares on my shortlist, look at how to value companies, watch shares live, do level 2 live plus lots of screening for new money makers.. and loads more.

Remember no question is ever "too stupid" - come, relax and enjoy and anyone wearing a tie will be ejected.

I'm going to a Game Of Thrones finale party next week with the episode on a huge cinema screen in top surround sound.

I believe some will be dressed in GOT gear.

I wonder if I should get my sword out? I usually only get it out twice a year plus my birthday.

Let you know any gossip from that next time. If this is the last ever update then consider me a minor character who was axed.

We got to spend a short week in Spain just as the weather was crap here.

I realised all my life I'd been taking cabs abroad rather than using the local trains.

It's WAY better to use the trains! Cheaper for a start but you get to see more of the country and its people.

A packed Easyjet flight to Madrid first off.

Stayed at a wonderful hotel - The Westin Madrid and got an upgrade to a junior suite. All sorts of fruit and water in the room, spacious and lovely.

Just don't order anything from room service. Seven quid for a coke anyone? Or how's about a breakfast, at... wait for it... £35 !!! I wouldn't pay those prices even if I had billions.

We wandered around enjoying a new city. The Spanish are way more relaxed. No Pret a Mangers. Mainly independent places serving decent food at good prices.

Just don't expect anything in a hurry! Service is let's say, on the relaxed side.

Next day time for a three hour train ride from Madrid to Malaga. What a train! It puts our horrible cramped trains to shame.

Spacious seats (in standard class). Loads of legroom and luggage room. Staff are helpful and are pristine in their uniforms and take pride in their jobs. There's even a movie (headphones provided).

Trains leave and arrive on time without hold ups. Enjoyed watching the Spanish countryside and small villages.

From Malaga we took a local train up along the coast. Again, punctual, cheap and fast. Great fun people watching too. From Spainish people to the er, how can I put this, rather portly Brits around Torremonelos.

We also passed Mijas where poor old Freddie Starr had just died. Then a lovely couple of days by the beach self catering. Took the local bus into Malaga for a meal at our favourite bakery.

What a place. All day great food, drinks and cakes. Made fresh. Fantastic Salmon salad for me.

Then back on the train to Malaga and the flight home. Malaga is great: lots of atmosphere, lovely eating places.

Sitting on Easyjet the engineers were on. All the seatbelt lights on one side weren't working.

They tried a reboot but no luck. The captain says: "We can either get off and find another plane or head off. The plane is perfectly safe." We obviously voted to chance it.

Except.. a guy in the front row started a long conversation with the captain. I could earwig some of it. He was saying he was an engineer and felt it wasn't safe. The captain asked if he wanted to get off.

Engineer was uncertain. The captain had a trump card: "It is my life too, I wouldn't fly the plane if I thought it was unsafe."

Engineer" reluctantly took his seat though he wasn't happy. I don't think his wife was that impressed with his intervention.

Matters settled we took off.

But I got the feeling the engineer was even kind of hoping for trouble.

It was almost worth it as we plunged to our deaths for him to shout at the captain (and his wife).

See I told you so."

The journey was fine!

If you are scared of flying and want to conquer that try a course
at

You can either do it live or as an internet course. I'm told
they are really good.

Cheers for the feedback from the last event. I was amazed at how many stayed at the end and you got a bit of a reward for that! And thanks for the lovely feedback including this one: "It exceeded expectations. It was even more relaxed and crammed with pearls that I had anticipated and you are a most gifted communicator and inspiring without wishing to embarrass you..."

Of course not! Everyone loves praise.. keep it coming!!

Naked Rambling

Anyone bothered if the Jeremy Kyle show is ended?

After all, it just dealt in human misery for entertainment.

I did wonder why people went on it knowing something awful was going to be revealed.

Apparently the reason is: fame!

Down the pub, people buy them drinks for months afterwards.

Instead of Darren, they are now known to their mates as "Darren off Jeremy kyle". (Or Freddie off Love Island)

Jezza has announced he will screw shareholders of utilities.

What could possibly go wrong with nationalisation and all the new red tape? He doesn't realise pension funds are all massive holders and so spending power of pensioners and pensioners to be will be vastly reduced.

Let's hope Brexit is resolved soon. I expect like me you are all brexited out.
I'm past caring and don't care who wins what as long as it isn't a hard left government which would destroy the economy.

Oh no, those of you on whatsap better be wary. Your phone could be under attack! Yes just by calling
your mobile they can download all sorts of nasties.

They might struggle to attack my smartphone. I've never owned one!

Onto the second last ep of Game of Thrones (****).

SPOILERS!

Fairly enjoyable except Dany's sudden descent into bonkerness
happened rather too fast to feel right.

She'd always been merciful and now in one fell dragon swoop she murders thousands of innocents.

It's getting a little hard to believe how the major characters are getting so lucky to avoid death. They have all had the most amazing luck!

Perhaps the episode should have been called "Murder of the second line characters".

A lot went up in flames. Though a nil nil draw for the Mountain and his bro.

Nutty Euon got his comeuppance. And a pile of extras were gonners.

The two major gonners look to be Cersei and her bro. Though we didn't actually see them get killed, did we? Could they be alive under the rubble? People have come back before now.

It's awful to think that Dany went on such a rampage just because Jon wasn't in the mood to shag her.

I feel if he had, she'd have been more relaxed and might have stopped at the bells ringing
over Kings Landing.
Line of Duty (***). Underwhelming (though still engrossing) finale where internet fave was outed as a wrong un.

But, guess what? Still no news on who the real H is.

And if you're dying so you really think "I'll tell you who the villains are using morse code"?

Our villain turned out to be internet and bookies' fave, and became obvious from quite early on. Never
mind, we'll be watching the next series right?

Billions (*****) is really in its stride. Interesting episode concentrating on family and the dysfunction in most of the families on the show, quite Sopranos like.

Years and Years (**) . I was looking forwards to this but yikes. A kind of look at the future with everything going horribly wrong. Plenty of ideas but just way too many.

There's everything here from sex robots to Trump loosing off a nuke, a refugee crisis, a trans who wants to.. trans into, erm data. Phone addiction, it goes on and on. All from a too woolly leftie viewpoint in that there seems nothing good in the world at all.

I will give it one more episode but I hope it calms down to concentrate on less than 50 topics. And frankly, I was rather hoping our smug family would get nuked. That can't be good.

elf and safety have banned the WI from providing cakes to those dying in a hospice.

The WI has been making cakes for 40 years and I can't remember anyone dying from one.

Cakes aren't exactly killers. You'd be hard pushed to make one that would make anyone sick.

If I was the WI I would ignore it and carry on baking. "Go on, sue us".

If I was dying would I like a nice cake made with love or a bought cake stuffed with additives?

When we buy home made cakes will we now have to sign waivers? "I'll take the risk this cake will kill me".

Apparently a famous woman I don't know had a baby. Be still,
my beating heart.

SEMINAR NEWS
New date June 28th 2019 near Heathrow
Email me for details at robbiethetrader with "June seminar interested". There
is a decent early bird discount on offer.
Beginners and improvers welcome. Come and spend the day with me, the markets and some lovely people - and of course, lunch, lots of sugary snacks.

My seminars are designed for beginners, dabblers and improvers and deals with everything from how to look for winners, how to research, spreadbetting, level 2 use how to time trades and short, how to use advfn properly and run your portfolio without having to spend money on systems and tipsters.. and tons more.

A lot of the day comes directly from the live markets and I show you many of the tricks I use to get good prices live. And there might even be the odd live trade or 2!
Some recent feedback:

He actually takes you candidly right into the mental process involved in his successful trading, making it a pretty amazing display, even showing his own investment accounts right there on the screen. This is a genuine coaching session in how to trade like him if you put in the graft. My advice therefore would be to sign up for this while he is still prepared to do it.'

When I signed up to your course my goal was to make 20% p.a., I've achieved that in less than six months. Your course was pretty much going to be my last attempt at trading, So once again thank you, it's by far the best money I've ever spent on trading education and probably on education full stop."
I felt we were in for a long day of numbers, PowerPoints and dry talk.
Instead, what we got was fascinating and enjoyable mix of punchy insights, merriment and wise-cracks, sharp wit, and to the point no nonsense advice. I sat down at 9:45am and didn't look at the time again until way after 8pm at which point I had to drag myself away."
I read your books and understood the words "" however I was missing that final nugget of knowledge "" actually seeing you valuate a company and make that buy/no buy decision live means I now get it."

LOTS OF LOVELY DISCOUNTS HERE!!!
My new spreadbet book is out.

MARKETS

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too.

****
COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

***
Quiet time for me. I try not to do anything on hols if I can avoid it and
there wasn't much calling out to me.

I was away for a few days travelling in Spain and if I can, I leave things alone but make sure stops are there on the shares higher up the market.

A bit like Brexit where nothing else matters or is happening the latest China Vs US Trade war seems all that matters to shares!

Keep an eye on what the mad king (sorry just watched Game of Thrones)
> tweets!

He'll move a share price for you just by writing something that he just thought!

Let's all hope it's not "Let's nuke China".

Hey man... I'm feeling all laid back... hey I can see the colours, dude.. can you see the colours?

Yes, I bought some cannabis. Not from the dodgy guy down the road (at that price, you've got to be kidding).

Well, the cannabis index provided by IG. It's like the FTSE 100 of cannabis shares.

It means I can have exposure to cannabis (!) without having to pick a specific share. (Search for cannabis index).

Though frankly I've not made enough to buy a single roll up yet. I'll let you know how it goes - when I can be arsed to.

After selling ITV (well the computer did it for me on a stop) I bought some back yesterday, it looks on the ropes which is the exact time you might expect a bidding war.

I was in Spain on the ITV report day - I'd put stops around break even and that paid off. Well, kind of, I could have taken a nice profit just the day before. So the final positions were taken out in my absence at around break even. (one slight loss one slight profit). I'm glad, as without stops the temptation might have been to hold on. But, I did pick up a massive 5p dividend on them so in real life, the trades yielded a reasonable profit inc the div.

I always feel with ITV once a bidding war starts the bid price could be huge. To add live TV and new production facilities should be very tempting for any number of big money cos.

However if it obviously continues sliding then I'll be out.

I added some more Synthomer (SYNT) on current weakness.

They seem to be building support in the 390s and as long as that holds I'd be hopeful for a move up to 450.

I left a few buy orders on direct access on Gamma (GAMA) (communications not the air one!) and only just noticed
I got some the other day at the then sell price.

As mentioned previously I like this high quality company but the shares aren't cheap. However right now the
market seems to want to pay for quality.

It's been knocking around 11 quid for a while but there seems to be sellers in the 1120 area. I'm
hoping those get cleared for a move up to 1200.

I've bought some Andrews Sykes (ASY). I like the rising figures, the nice 4% dividend, the cash, and it gets 100/100 at stocko for quality (never seen that before) but there is a problem.. it's hard to buy a significant amount. And the spread breaks my usual rule - though only just as actually when I bought this morning it was showing 610-670 but you could sell at 630 and buy at 665 (up to 500 shares)

I wanted to get 1,000 shares but that would cost 680p. So I got the 500 shares instead at 665p today but for my pot it's a small amount. If anything bad occurred it would be hard to sell the shares and if I want to buy a decent amount I'd have to pay way over the odds. It is really annoying as it's not a tiny small cap - the market cap is nearly £300m half way to being a FTSE 250.

Most shares at this level would have a much smaller spread and easy to buy and sell in bigger quantities. It seems a shame for the company as most will avoid because of the poor liquidity. Shame, as otherwise would have bought a much bigger lot.

Anyhow I'll stop moaning. It goes ex dividend for a very nice 11.9p on the 30th of this month, the payment will be received with thanks. (Warning: read what I wrote about copying trades if a beginner!)

Uber joined lyft as a short on the US market. Both companies look massively overvalued for now, anyhow.

888 had to be axed for a loss of £360. I really should have sold it much longer ago and raised the stop. Bad boy. Naughty boy. No twix for me.

Ig Design went for a profit of £760. It just couldn't get above 610. Sadly it came down a bit before I sold, but I rarely get a top as I'm usually waiting to see if there is more.

Elsewhere AB Dynamics is a top performer with a profit of many thousands for me having doubled and a lot more. Obviously its rating has moved up but looks like traders are willing to pay for the quality and likely future prospects.

Sopheon shares are heading up again - yesterday it announced a further foothold in Asia - its software
will be used at a Thai petrochemicals firm, could be a lot more upside.

Cineworld shares are on the up again after a decent update yesterday. Network Int spiked up and down but for the moment it looks like a nice uptrend.
XP Power shares still power on with 3000 looking a likely target.

EXTRA INCOME FROM HOME

When I left my full-time job to trade it really helped having another income: this I got from part-time selling energy and phone services to people and getting a cut of their use of their home services forever! I still get enough from it now to pay all my bills. I am a great believer in multiple incomes and this is a great one in my opinion as anyone could do it.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
