Bulldog spirit for snowy seminar
**Sorry! No Update Today Jan 30Th Back Next Week

My next seminar is on Friday March 1st near Heathrow. If you want details on that seminar email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "March seminar interested" in the subject line and I'll send you details, there is an early bookers' discount available, more details below too.
And there is a follow up on March 22nd for those who have been to a seminar already - we do level 2, live trading, research, finding new companies and timing tricks all day! Mail me with "follow up interested" in the subject line.
My 2013 Naked Trader diary is sold out both here and on amazon. The publisher might have a few more available next week, let me know if you want to go on the waiting list.
*****
Drat! Just when we thought we had escaped winter ailments Christopher is down with a bug, so is Mrs NT and I am feeling a bit ropey too though at the mo I am not as bad as they are.
Although actually as I write this feeling worse and I expect it'll get worse before it gets better darn it.
Lots of sitting on sofas watching movies with hot honey drinks. He is missing his football terribly..
My goodness I can't believe all of you bar just two made it to the seminar on Friday!
I was getting anxious emails from many people saying you weren't sure if you could make it because of the snow/travel problems...
When we went down to open up the room at 9.30am I would not have been surprised if anyone had turned up giving the travel difficulty.
So we could hardly believe our eyes when we saw so many of you were there. Some of you ended up being late of course but by 11am all there except two, amazing!!!
Some real stories of grit and determination to get to the seminar and then home again. If some of you show the same determination with your trading you will make a fortune!!
In particular the two chaps that came all the way from one of the worst hit areas in Wales.
"It wasn't too bad," they said. "All you need is a decent land rover!"
Even those coming by plane made it! One chap mailed me at 7am saying he was stucj on the runway at Cork and not sure if it was ever going to take off!
Later I looked at the arrivals board and saw his plane was due in at 9.45 and he made it for 10,30 at the seminar, impressive.
Getting home for some was tough. One rashly decided to walk to a nearby Tube station only to get lost and spent an hour walking getting lost! He said he felt like an old tramp but eventually found a different tube station to the one he had set out to!
One or two had to go to Gatwick instead of Heathrow, some found a room at the hotel!
Some of you found a room at other hotels. No-one ended up on the streets!
It was fun in the end, all sharing our "how we got there" stories.
It took me a while to scrape all the snow off my car! Even then a lot of it ended up all over me and a lot on my car seat, cue wet bum!
Anyway congrats to you all for coming, true British bulldog spirit. I would be surprised if some of you don't make good traders!
Two of those attending had their seminar paid for by their partners as presents, one a Xmas present and one a birthday present - no pressure on me then....!
I hope all of you had the notes I made of the seminar by now - I mailed them over the weekend if not give me a yell they contain everything that happened from when the first person had to leave early!
I'm very chuffed at the feedback coming in from you saying it was worth the journey, this is so rewarding for me. Glad you all enjoyed it, a few of you kept me going till 9.30pm despite the weather!
If you missed this one the next one isn't too far away on March 1st and there is a decent early bird discount on offer, come and spend a day with me and some lovely readers mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com for details with "March seminar interested" in the subject line.
Beginners and improvers welcome! Come and spend the day with me, the markets and some lovely people - and of course, lunch!
If you mail me I will then send you details and a full agenda of what is covered. Also more details below somewhere.
My seminars are designed for beginners, dabblers and improvers and deals with everything from how to look for winners, how to research, spreadbetting, level 2 use how to time trades and short, how to use advfn properly and run your portfolio without having to spend money on systems and tipsters.. and tons more.
A lot of the day comes directly from the live markets and I show you many of the tricks I use to get good prices live. And there might even be the odd live trade or 2!
Like vultures we all went out to HMV and Blockbuster at the weekend hoping to snap up a few bargains!
HMV first. They have just tons of stock - and most disappointingly hardly any bargains. Sure there was a few quid off here and there but nothing I would say was cheap.
I suspect best to wait till they decide which stores to close then visit one of those just before it closes.
Blockbuster was the place with real bargains. Films already reduced had another 50% off at the till, each movie cost £2 or £3 - so ended up with a good haul.
Bit sad though to see the store closing, kind of the end of an era. Everything is going online and download, that is so sad, no longer can we browse properly or talk to someone.. this can't be good for our souls?
Seen the first dvd already - Margin Call - go find this film that was new last year, an excellent financial thriller starring Kevin Spacey.
It's much better than Wall Street. Based as the crash was about to hit the banks it's the story of a big trading house which suddenly realises it is in trouble.
Should they sell everything and start a run on the market? Great tension is built up - go buy or rent it - you should be able to get it for £3 from your local closing down Blockbuster!
**Follow Up Seminar - March 22Nd**
A follow up with me will be on March 22nd... You must have been on a previous basic one of mine to qualify.
The last one was great fun so I can't wait - I know some of you who came to the last one want to come again! It is all day level 2, research, finding new stuff, timing and live trading. Who knows what will happen!
If you are interested mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "follow up interested" in the subject line.

Naked Trader Seminar Latest News
Fancy spending a day with me, learning all the ways I have learned over the years to find good shares and play the markets? Well, you can at one of my seminars!
Booking is open for the Naked Trader seminar on March 1st
Price is £590 plus vat. There is currently a decent early bookers discount off that price - mail for details!
That includes three course lunch, coffees, snacks etc.
The seminar is mainly aimed at beginners and dabblers though improvers are welcome too.
Topics covered using live market feeds all day include: Market psychology, level 2 - a simple guide to how to use it for better timing; how to value companies; finding companies that are about to rise. I will also cover techniques for handling events such as the recent meltdown and volatility.
Spreadbetting: How to use it to gain an edge and go short. Market makers - how they work and how to beat them; how to stop losing money and make it instead and plenty more.
How to plan trade entries and exits - how to research companies and understand reports, plus all those niggly questions you always wanted to ask. How to set stop losses and targets. Charts and how to use them.
Also covered: Market maker tricks: How to spot tree shakes and use them in your favour, How to tell when NOT to buy a share. I use live ADVFN all day with lots of level 2 and looks at all kind of live market data.
The idea behind the seminar is SIMPLICITY. I don't use jargon or fancy words - everything is in PLAIN ENGLISH! No question is too stupid and the event is held in a friendly relaxed and supportive environment.
The idea is you will come away from the event I hope a wise and better investor with lots of new ideas. I try and translate complex topics into easy bite size pieces. I also aim for it to be entertaining as well as instructive.
If you are interested please e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "March seminar interested" in the subject line and I will send you full details of the event including comments from those who have come to previous seminars and you can then decide whether you would like to come. See you there!
One seminar attendee Clare wanted to write a testimonial about her experiences at the seminar which follows now!
"I've just come back buzzing from one of Robbie's seminars. What a day! He's just brilliant, and manages to pack an awful lot into one day, and with his enthusiastic and humorous delivery the day just flies by. There are no gimmicks, no sell, no "˜get-rich-quick' promises, just his own solid, sound approach which he has learnt over the years and which works.
He shows you how to minimise the risks and maximise the profits and points out the banana skins on the way. Where the seminar really comes into its own is when he teaches using live level 2. Hearing him talk through his thought processes and reasoning is invaluable, and really brings home everything from the book. He has endless patience answering peoples' questions, and really seems to care that everybody understands.
On top of that, you meet some really nice like minded people and swap e mail addresses, you're plied with
chocolates and coffee all day, have a great lunch and spend the evening getting tiddled with Robbie in the
bar afterwards! You might even get to see the amazing crocodile boots . . . .
Don't worry about the cost, it's easily worth it, and you'll soon make it back with your new-found investment skills, and in what you're no longer losing. If you're thinking of going along to his next seminar, whether you're a novice or an experienced trader, don't hesitate ""just go!
Thanks Clare, did you want the tenner in cash, or will a cheque do?

Naked Rambling
It seemed nearly every day last year there was a major crisis.
It was either Greece, Spain, Egypt, the Arab Spring, Israel, Iran, the Fiscal Cliff, we were all about to hit the skids, etc.
This year? Nothing. I haven't heard a thing to make us fearful. Maybe that's why the market is going up.
I wish I hadn't said that now. Probably something nasty around the corner that the media will make up some kind of corny phrase about.
Cameron on Europe. Dunno about you but I just can't get excited about it or even bothered about it.
The only thing I think is we are a crowded island and something must be put in place by next year to not let us be swamped by benefit and health tourist seekers from new members. Perhaps only those who have something to give and can be got a job should be allowed in.
Wow what an amazing game last night as Bradford City go to Wembley beating Aston Villa over two legs.
Congrats to all the Bradford players. It is marvellous when you see players earning a pittance beat the ones earning millions.
They showed such passion and desire to win and it shows just sometimes you can beat the odds that are stacked against you - wonderful!
The return of the series Girls has been enjoyed here!
But one very funny series you may not have spotted because it is on a channel no-one watches called Sky Arts.
That's because it is a French Sit com called "Hard". A great concept - a woman's husband dies and she discovers he was head of a porn empire. Now she has to run it.
Wish I had thought of it. It really is cracking, Friday nights -probably you can catch up with it on repeats or one of those play it again services.
The producers of BB were really lucky to have Spencer and Heidi, without them this show would have dwindled into nothing and they played a few clever tricks to keep them in but my bet on outsider Gillian came to nothing thanks to them all being up. I only needed fourth!
The engineered stand off between the Americans and the Brits is mildly entertaining but perhaps just shows that we all have a horrid part to our personality which of course TV brings out and magnifies.
What on earth is Frankie doing in there? He doesn't need the money or fame and no-one cares he took some coke.
Anyway Tricia is being backed heavily at the mo against odds on fave, the irritating Ryland so I might get something back from the short, second will do! And I think the short on Ryan will pay off.
Newspapers say households in London complained to the authorities about the stench of rotten eggs, cabbage and garlic drifting over them.
It is my fault, I admit I did let one go. But it was a great curry.
If you fancy a bet on Big Bro Via this link Open a Sporting Index account and there's a £100cash offer - please check terms and conditions which apply.

Do remember if you do bet you ought to treat sports spreadbetting as entertainment - and expect to lose! Also with spreadbetting work out what your max loss could be and make sure you can afford it! In other words if you say backed the favourite at 15 for a fiver and they come nowhere your max loss is £75.

Agree about facebook - the youngsters who leapt onboard when it started,
posting dire photos of them doing things they shouldn't are now grown up and
getting on in their careers and errrrrr wondering if that photo of them
mooning in the disco in Majorca was a good idea!
Nice to think I am not the only unsociable grump to not want to follow the
minutiae of my friends and colleagues mostly boring lives!
I am in the states just now and feel the Starbucks asking name thing is just
more marketing bollocks to get them noticed. If they just speeded up the
service I might go there but americans seem to need all this 'service
bollocks' to make them think they are getting their moneys worth.
Thanks Anne,
well of course I agree, it's nearly all bollocks!
Duane writes:
Wanted to say a big thank you to you and Mrs NT for an amazing day of learning and fun at your seminar.
The way you explained the share trading from start to finish was understandable and really interesting, well worth the seminar fee!
It was great to hear such down to earth and honest assessment from a successful trader like yourself. The way you explained everything was good revision from your book and gave further insight into successful share trading.
I particularly liked your live trades and going through your accounts when you gave snippets of why you invested in certain shares and why you kept/dumped them. Also helpful was the way you searched for prospective shares and within minutes discounted them or put them on a short list for further examination and correct entry points. Amazing!
You could really tell that you loved doing what you do and your energy levels to keep going till 10pm was well....... I had to leave at 9pm I was shattered!
Thanks again Robbie I am keen to put into practice what you have taught me. Even though you make squillions from your trades and I am sure don't need to do the seminars for financial gain, but please keep doing those seminars for newbies like me!
Thanks Duane! Don't expect to be doing them foreever but very rewarding for me to help people so expect to carry on for a while longer.
Gabriel writes:
If you are reading this, you are perhaps considering going on one of Robbie's Seminars. You maybe asking yourself (like I did) the testimonials are all well and good but once the euphoria and excitement of attending a Seminar has died down ..... and I am back home in my normal routine and faced with the "graft" of putting it all into practice... will I become a better trader and be financially better off?
Let me tell you that in my case it certainly has!
Book your place pretty sharpish....... is what I say !
Thanks Gabriel!
Terry writes:
Fantastic seminar.
I have always been sceptical of the public testaments you see on web sites
saying how great an event was. Now I'm one of those people!. I
genuinely believe that the tips and techniques as well as the overall
approach you demonstrated will radically improve my trading performance
Thanks Terry, well all the testaments are real but know what you mean and glad you feel it was worth it!
Stephen writes:
I read your book and did the course - and I wasn't sure if I'd recoup the cost, it's been 2 years and I've made £38k + saved a loss transferring a Jupiter ISA heavily invested in BP. I can't tell you how important this is or how grateful I am. That's just me, who knows how much people have made with your help and saved by not making mistakes. I wanted to get into shares as they recovered after the crunch, but I assumed I had to put a large amount in one company I thought would make a big jump.
But what happens when you make £1m on the website, will you still do courses? I don't know how you do your ISA and SIPP investments, write the website, books, courses and answer e-mails. But please don't give it up. Couldn't you do the courses and have a standing website which gets updated with your trades say once a month so people can see what you do..
Stephen thanks so much for such a nice mail and much appreciated! Dunno about the future, I feel like I'm getting jaded. It's possible I might just reduce it all at some point to twice a month after going weekly - that would probably help. The other problem is other people's angst is getting to me and the email workload becoming overwhelming. I think after ten years it might be time for me to quit. Anyway good luck with your trades and hope you make a lot more.
I have 3 great offers from ADVFN.
ADVFN level 2 offer
First great deal: If you want level 2, through me it is only £350 for your first year including VAT!
This compares to £473 direct from advfn inc vat so this deal saves you over a whopping £120! ADVFN level 2 also includes all the live trades made through Plus Markets which I find invaluable.
To accept this great deal just e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "Level 2 offer" in the subject line and I will tell you how to get it. Level 2 gives you access to all the market maker positions and the order book and I would not trade without it!
More on level 2 in my book and I spend hours on it at my seminars. So if you get level 2 and want to learn how to use it properly live, book my seminar!
ADVFN Bronze Offer
To take up the offer, e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with Bronze in the subject line and I will tell you how to claim the deal.
Bronze is included inside the level 2 deal.
Advfn Silver Exclusive Offer
The deal is via me you can save nearly £30 for your first year by paying just £145 inc vat via me instead of £173.71

Markets
**Sorry! No Update Today Jan 30Th Back Next Week
Another really nice easy week with lovely calm markets gradually drifting up.
Now cue the Great Crash of January 2013 ("We never saw it coming!")
Well the market does love biting you in the bum when you least expect it. But for now with no real scary news about like last year (Fiscal cliff anyone? What was all that about?) it seems genuinely friendly.
It's been very easy to make money - if you haven't made any this month, forget about being a trader.
I haven't really needed to look for any trades as nearly everything I have shoots up - the spreadbet accounts are brimming with cash as those of you who came to the seminar saw.
I added everything up in my head just now and realised with a shock I have nearly £2million in the market including my pension. Although £400,000 of that is Telecom Plus shares.
I'm starting to find it hard to put it anywhere so there is a lot of cash floating about, just as well as I have to find a few hundred grand to complete the purchase of a new property on March 1st! I am going to have to do some selling in February.
I have made the odd trade or two but nothing that much to report.
I have been in Pendragon (PDG) since it was 5p ! I didn't mention it on the site then as I thought it was too small. Those who came to the seminar saw it sitting in my ISA and that reminded me of them so I took a look. Well I bought some more and this time adding it to the site at 19.9p
Buying a second hand car dealer - are you nuts Robbie? Well, strangely car dealers are all reporting strong sales both here and in the USA. Maybe people are at last changing their cars.
I think there might be 20% here - it needs some good acceleration 19-26 in four weeks will do me.
I thought the Kentz(KENZ) statement was super and got a spreadbet on early doors at 399 again those at the seminar would have seen that in my capital spreads account
(great tight spreads on FTSE 250 stocks - http://www.capitalspreads.com/ntrader - a book on spread betting available free on that link) they also allow shorts on things like carpetright that others won't.
Indeed we discussed a stop loss and I raised it at the end of the day on my capital spreads account to 410 to lock in at least ten points. I have had Kentz for some time, indeed since the early 200s and have built a stake in it, with a massive profit on the early trades and small losses on ones made near the top.
I don't know why it is so massively undervalued except there have been some big sellers around and overhangs. Hoping for a push up to 450 and a fiver however it can also go gradually down so it is a hard one to trade!
Optos produced a decent statement, and the shares have gone up but yet they just don't want to go over 200 and sellers come in at below that number.
I ended up selling half at 190 rather than all because I have a hunch the Mail on Sunday might tip it again like they did in October.
Anyway I am out of some for a profit of £1,105 by selling one of the site open trades.
I closed the Ocado short on the morning of the seminar at 83.9, call it 84 for close to breakeven. I knew I couldn't look at it for the rest of the day - I could see it wasn't breaking below 82 and buyers were piling in. Also I was fighting a rising market and there is no point in having shorts open in a rising market. Since then Sir Stuart has been appointed. I still can't see how the business model is going to work and its only hope is a buyout by Morrisons which needs an online presence badly. I also closed the Facebook short - too risky in a rising market.
Cash Converters - Arrrghh! Why arrgggg? They decided to end their London listing towards the end of next month. That's not a worry at all, you can transfer to the other listing.
But cue panic from UK investors and my email inbox suddenly stuffed with loads of emails. Then more - and then more. I started to answer them then realised if I did I would be there all day and into the night and not have time to do anything else with my day.
Then to be honest I got grumpy thinking that is IT. I am not writing this site ANY MORE! I am fed up with getting a mail box full of anxiety the moment something happens to any of my shares. Then there were MORE mails then MORE. There is only me - I am just a person, I don't have a secretary or a PA.
In the end I wrote pretty much what I am writing here in a vaguely grumpy mail as a round robin cut and paste and even then it took ages. Then I felt guilty about feeling grumpy about it. But then I even missed Deal or No Deal because of it!
I calmed down today. I know people get worried. I know they want me to reassure them and they don't realise how many exact similar mails I am getting. Also I cannot give direct advice.
Anyway I took advantage of the panic getting some more shares. They are delisting from the UK but their main listing still trades in Aus. My broker told me my shares can simply transfer to the AUS listing when it delists but it may charge me more to sell them or buy more.
Bottom line is if you own the shares you still own Cash Converters but you will own shares in an Aussie only company from near the end of Feb. The price went down cos the market makers were hit by panicked sellers who hadn't bothered to research it or just phone their broker to ask. So they took full advantage lapping up shares at a 15% discount to the real price, the Australian one and making themselves a rather nice turn.
Every broker will treat the delisting differently and some will even let you keep them in an Isa.Worst comes to worst and you don't want the Aussie listing you can sell em up to the deadline - they should just track the Aus price till then. Maybe at a small discount. If you have them and want your options - call your broker! Please no more emails on this, I beg you.
Well, things continue to look really good - however with such good gains one has to have an eye on taking some more profits soon!
An amazing profit of more than £25,000 now in my spreadbet on the US company 3D Systems though I think I would be crazy not to start gradually banking profits. We enjoyed watching that in my spreadbet account at the seminar.
Recent trades are all going well - recent top up Carclo is sitting under a fiver - might take a push to get it through but if it does, a bullish sign for the year ahead. I think this one could rise very strongly this year. Its CIT technology looks a winner and the shares could easily have a massive run up from here given time and patience. Already doubled on it and sitting on massive profits but I feel the best is yet to come.
St Ives looks like it is waiting for an update before it can go any higher
. Vislink (VLK) is shooting up nicely and looking for it to go 37p ish. Management already forecasts some nice profit rises over the next 3 years and it looks cheap and at some point should get a rerating. Very low risk too and it is in a hot sector.
Nichols where I now sit on a fabulous profit is up again after telling the market it is ahead of expectations - it has tons of cash so I'd expect them to announce some kind of big dividend with results in March.
At the seminar we noticed NMC Health in the isa - I had totally forgotten about that one
in a nice profit now, may let it hopefully ride up to 250.
LOQ made another annoncement this week, just keeps coming up with the goods. Now nearly four timed my money on this one but I feel more to come! Can it crack 400? Costain seems in the middle of a deserved rerating at last and patience is paying off here, I wonder if it can get up to 300?
** A reminder you can spend a day with me and live markets on March 1st.. Email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "March seminar interested" in the subject line. There is a decent early bird discount!**
Greencore continues to soar, more than doubled here now and the recent top up in a massive profit now too. It moved up quite well today. Low and Bonar has been a bit slow, still the trade has nearly worked out and ten per cent could soon be bagged.
Trifast has leapt nicely - I hope it will have another go at defeating the 50p mark. Trying hard still, maybe statement needed
I'm hoping for a bid soon on Alternative Networks (they already turned one bidder down) and in the meantime there has been great capital growth and a massive dividend as they have loads of cash. It's now trying to crack the tricky 300p area.
The lovely Porvair has been motoring up very nicely in the last week - can it hit the 200 mark?
Telecom Plus seems to have cracked the tricky 900 area - cracking a tenner is going to take quite some doing. I still think this one will just continue to grow and grow and one day could be in the ftse 100. Website profits of well over £100,000 and personal profits of more £300,000. I just continue a long-term holder.
Vectura is stuck in a rut, Chime keeps on going up - a good few points higher this year and still in this from 50p so a nice times four and a great profit on the ones bought more recently in the 140s and the spreadbet.
Dialight has been heading higher again after a spells around a tenner it has lifted up above 1100. I remember so well buying these at 150 ish at a seminar in 2009 ! I never thought I'd still have them three years later at over a tenner.
Coastal continues to shine and now nearly trebled on this brilliant oil play. I suspect a bid will come in here this year at hopefully around the 1800 mark.
Direct Line has proved a surprise nice winning trade and has sped over 200. I was thinking of taking profits at over 200 but it seems so strong staying with it for the mo. I laugh as I only bought because all the magazine tipsters said don't buy!
. Sepura continues to go for it and 100 surely must be cracked sooner or later. Not quite yet.
Iomart has really motored up - getting above 230 looks the next test.
I've been getting e-mails regarding my use of direct market access and who I use. I've tried a few and for me the easiest system for me is here:
http://www.igmarkets.com/nakedtrader
Direct market access means you can place orders directly onto the order book bypassing brokers and market-makers with a chance to buy at the "sell" price. I would suggest you ensure you know what you're doing first but IG does provide much education with its "tradesense" educational tool which comes with it.
I also use its spreadbetting service too along with other firms like Tradefair because it now provides trailing stops which to me is a pretty sensible way of trading. Also with this link there is an excellent education programme and it offers the biggest range of smaller shares.

As usual before opening accounts please read all the warnings on the sites. You can lose a lot of money if you're not careful so pay close attention to them and make sure you always understand what you are doing and what your potential losses are.

Telecom Plus Offer
You get to sell great broadband, phone packages and energy to friends, relatives, contacts and anyone else you find and you get cash for each sale but more importantly you get a cut of their spend EVERY MONTH for as long as they are a customer!
It's called residual income and is a far better way to enjoy a ripe old age than relying on a pension. Because even after you stop selling the money STILL comes in!
I still get paid EVERY MONTH for sales I made back in 1999! Every time a customer uses broadband or the phone or switches on a light you get paid.
It's a great business and backed by a stock market company (Telecom Plus), a dedicated team of advisors.. and me to help you on your way!
Not only do you get paid out every month for each customer you can take on distributors. encourage them like I do and get paid on their sales as well.
One day, say you could made redundant, needed a year off or wanted to retire early can you imagine what joy it is to have the regular income coming in. It's wonderful.
You have to work at it, but if you do genuine repeat wealth could be yours. I did it. You can too. For full details, why not email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com.
An overview is also available at http://www.utilitywarehouse.org.uk/fabdeal you can sign up directly there but do tell me! (Click become a distributor and follow links)

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time.
Trades first reported Wednesday afternoons under "Markets" section..
