For those of you who've some to a seminar before there is an advanced /follow up on March 22nd with plenty of trade hunting and some trading ideas, last one of those for some time. Always some great investors on these.
New beginners/improvers date April 26th see above.
Nice to meet a group of you online last week for the spreadbetting seminar, I thought Andy and Matt from Spreadex were ever so helpful in explaining the mechanics of it.
And a big thanks to the other guests who contributed.
Also was interesting chatting to some of you online that had booked trading psychology sessions with Elizabeth - I came in for a chat after they'd done some sessions with her.
Some fascination breakthroughs which showed me how important it is to figure out work/life/trading balances. Of course there's so much to talk through, fear of missing out, fear, greed, overdoing it.
I came onto the end of one of the sessions and fascinating to talk to one of you who did the NT Retreat in Palma last year.
He just couldn't make any progress with spreadbetting but then had a breakthrough, very interesting.

Elizabeth had a fantastic time in India and I suggested she tell you all about it.
So here goes!
"Everyone told me India is an enigma and the only way to understand it is to go and experience it and I'd agree. If you've ever considered going, take the plunge.
As it was my first visit and I was due to be travelling with my sister, I booked with an agent. We wanted the assurance everything would be taken care of. We also wanted good, qualified guides at each place and a comfortable car for the longish journeys between cities. This cost a bit more than if we had booked everything independently but it was worth every penny to experience India with peace of mind.
My sister couldn't make it and my friend Anisha came instead. Even though she speaks Hindi and grew up in India, I was still glad I had booked through an agent and Anisha also felt the whole experience was hugely elevated by booking with them.
We flew with Virgin to Delhi and were met from the plane by its airport representative who whisked us through the airport on a golf cart, organised our luggage collection and got us in the right queues at immigration. She then handed us over to the Delhi representative and our driver, Pramod, who was with us for the whole trip.
The first day was spent seeing some of the highlights of Delhi including the Red Fort with our guide Vikash who told us fascinating stories, pointing out details we would have missed if wandering around aimlessly on our own. At one point we had a thrilling rick shaw ride through the old town, better than any theme park! Wherever we ended up, Pramod was there to collect us. Robbie, where is my London driver I'd like to know? (Just get the bus - Robbie).
After Delhi we took the train to Agra. We've all seen images of the Taj Mahal but seeing how the light illuminates the marble on this famous mausoleum can only be described as breath taking. On this and many of the forts we saw, the colour of the internal decorative elements comes from inlaid precious and semiprecious gemstones; such beauty in design and execution.
The city I fell in love with most is the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Our guide here brought the Amber Fort and the City Palace to life but what impressed me most was how he explained the huge stone astronomical instruments at Jantar Mantar, fascinating.
Regular readers will know I'm not a big shopper (!) so had to be persuaded to visit Jaipur's wonderful jewellers. The textiles here are the best in the world and we found some gorgeous independent boutiques.
From the crazy bustle of Jaipur, we went to my vision of heaven: a small hotel in a remote location where we enjoyed bird watching from a lake with an expert and watching the stars from our luxury tented rooms, no light pollution and only the sound of wildlife.
In Jodphur we enjoyed more culture, history, shopping and delicious food before flying back to Delhi for one last day exploring that beautiful city.
We had a beautiful encounter with rescued elephants on an eco farm outside Jaipur. Two middle aged ladies had a walk alongside two other middle aged ladies (Laxmi and Rangmala) led by their mahouts. As we hugged their trunks they closed their eyes slowly. Maybe it's wishful thinking but we felt they were as moved as we were by the encounter.
Highlight of the trip was the people. We felt so well looked after everywhere and had good fun with our guides and other people we met.
I can't wait to go back to India, there's so much more to explore I have one huge obstacle to overcome first: persuading Robbie to come with me! I think he will love it as much as I did. Maybe Goa this time? Or Kerala? Time to get back on to Catriona at Ampersand for some exciting ideas."
Thanks to Elizabeth for a taste of India. I would have gone except whenever I go anywhere "exotic" I pick up food poisoning.
Two bad experiences. Gambia was one, out for the count for days though Thailand was the worst.
At least a week spent comatose in a hut on Koh Samui watching giant cockroaches scuttle about the floor.
My then girlfriend's fault for buying chopped pineapple from a beach seller.
Still, I must stop this worry or else I will never go anywhere exciting..
Like Tescos to pick up some tea, bread and jam.
Great to see you all online last week for the seminar, enjoyed chatting with you all, some interesting ideas and trades came up.
Glad one of you won the Telegraph business sub! That was a tough question too...
Fantastic questions, discussions and interesting live markets all day.
5 of you have already booked the follow up on March 22, so see you again then.
If you missed this online seminar, the next beginner/improver is on March 10th, see above or below for details.
Good to meet a few of you at the last event.
Thanks for the lovely feedback like this from Chris:
"What a great day! Thanks so much for the effort and time you both put in.
I've been a teacher for the last 30 years and I'm not sure I could have kept a group of pupils so captivated for so long.
Humour and in-depth subject knowledge go a long way!
Too many best bits to mention, but I was impressed that you had read all the questionnaires and had something to say about each one.
Also, I loved seeing your thought process in deciding which shares to trade and level 2 was also an eye opener.
Thanks Chris, we so enjoyed it.
Thanks a lot for recent online seminar feedback!
.. Such as this from Phil:
"The seminar was delivered with huge integrity (there was Zero hidden agenda/ulterior motives, it was simple and open with some great laughs thrown in)
As much as I found myself trying to complicate the process and make it more sophisticated in my own tiny brain.
You brought it back to, Keep Things Simple. Do Your Own Research. Trade without emotion and above all, trade the market you find"¦ not what you or some pundit thinks it should be.
You also took the time to answer "every" question anyone posed. And it was every question.
Loads of shares ideas to boot, but more importantly the process to find your own.
Brilliant!
Thanks Andrew - we have got rather experienced at running them on zoom now!
Claire mailed me with some feedback on the seminar which she attended.
"Thanks for a fantastic seminar, I learned a lot and got every question I could think of answered. I think the most beneficial thing to me was just seeing with my own eyes how you go through the process of picking shares to buy and witnessing your thought process as you go through and also being able to ask questions as they arise. The system you and Elizabeth have for answering all the questions is fabulous & means you depart the maximum amount of information that is humanly possible in one day! The next day I just wished I was doing the course again instead of going back to work as it seemed dull in comparison."
Thanks Claire! It was a lovely group with a great sense of humour.
Jas, thanks for your mail as you've been to two zoom seminars.
"Just wanted to say thank you for a couple of wonderful seminars.
Your seminars were brilliant. Delivered methodically and with just a simple honest approach to dealing with the markets. You've helped me immensely in sorting my trading plan out and finding a good and profitable way to trade. After many months trying to figure out level 2, you sorted that out in one afternoon.
Since the seminar, I have placed 5 trades, 2 have closed out with profits and 3 are still running with profits. All trades placed using fundamental research and not Youtube videos
from David:
"Well it doesn't happen often, but I am absolutely speechless! I don't think I have ever spent a more worthwhile day nor spent money more wisely and gladly.
I for one was practically at the point of orgasm all day in my enjoyment and appreciation of what you were presenting! Even though I have read NT time and again, to see you going through the process of stock assessment over and over was incalculably useful and I managed to take six A4 pages of notes during the day. I was fascinated to learn about (and see) Level 2 in action and learn more about Spread "˜Betting'.
I thought the presentation balance was perfection, and Elizabeth was a complete star with her very well-judged handling of the questions....
.....This is a rather long-winded way of saying thank you so much to both of you - today was one of the top five most enjoyable days of my life, and I greatly look forward to joining you again!"
Naked Rambling
However much you might hate politicians I do think we should give them credit for doing something decent.
So I am going to give credit to Grant Shapps. While others talked about taking in a Ukrainian family he actually did it.
I felt after reading a feature on this in The Times, it was because he has some decency and a good heart rather than for political gain. So there, a credit for him.
Clarkson's Farm re-iterates the whole country is drowning in a heap of red tape, regulations and complex legislation.
Who'd want to be a farmer with all those forms and crazy regulation?
As for tax who'd want to run a small company? There are hundreds of tax rules, many of which are head scratching.
I'm now forced to use an electronic thing, supposed to make life easier.
In fact it used to take me 5 mins to work out what I owed in vat, now it takes hours.
I reckon I'm so crap at it, I overpay. No idea what I'd do without an accountant to work out the rest of the tax.
Stop re-writing books, it is outrageous to re-write Roald Dahl. You can't erase history like that.
I'm now wondering what terrible dad jokes I might have put in the last book that will see me cancelled.
Mind you, bit difficult to cancel someone like me who has no social media accounts or indeed, a smart phone! Good luck!
Apparently younger viewers prefer to watch TV shows with the subtitles on.
Why not forget about acting at all and just text TV shows to them, preferably in 30 second bites.
It's now safe to put your potatoes in the fridge. Previously there were fears chilled potatoes caused cancer.(?)
One thing I know you should never do: put chocolate in the fridge.
I went to the chocolate museum in York and the chocolate expert boomed: "Hands up if you put your chocolate in the fridge."
I did. He then picked on me, my ego quicky melted. They always pick on us baldies.
"Never ever put chocolate in the fridge!" he shouted.
The reason is chocolate enjoys taking all the smells of the fridge and bringing them home.
So if you don't want your chocolate to taste of mouldy cheese, going off veg and that courgette that's been in there two months keep it out.
And never put your hand up in a group whatever the question. Ever.
New self-driving cars will be programmed to head back to where you bought it from if you don't keep up repayments.
This might spread: The TV you forgot the monthly DD for will detach itself from the wall and march itself back to Currys while you're having breakfast.
Everything Everywhere *** Netflix
This is the movie that's won lots of awards.
A woman ends up in lots of different and slightly different universes.
It's totally knackering and best to watch it in half hour chunks.. The special effects are
decent.
Picard **** Amazon
Talking different universes a tired looking Picard is boldly going where seemingly everyone has been before.
The last Picard series was poor with Picard obsessed with ageing and mortality and how crap humans are.
The shackles are off here - it's like an old episode of the next generation back to fun shooting at aliens and other ships and running around killing extras. Much better. We want action not philosophy. Make it so.
Looks like a pretty good final goodbye then. Oh the days of the Next Gen on Sky One at 5pm every day in the 90s!
YOU **** Netflix
Possibly the most bizarre series ever.
One of those "it's so crap and unbelievable it's good!"
A librarian likes killing women he goes out with or marries and also kills anyone who threatens them.
You have to ignore how he gets away with it or where all the money comes from. if you can manage that which can be tricky at times, it's fun.
This series is set in London and is more bizarre than ever. The murders as usual pile up. Crazy but somehow enjoyable.
Faking Hitler **** Ch4 /All 4
Brilliant fun from this German made take of the fake Hitler diaries.
The fun of it is seeing how many wanted to be conned by the poor fakes.
The biggest paper in Germany and The Sunday Times here both were duped.
How? The journalists were desperate for a scoop, the Hitler "experts" desperate for it to be true.
Everyone wanted to be duped. The faker could hardly believe his luck.
The Gold **** BBC1
Sparking series based on the Brinks Mat robbery in the 80s.
Concentrates on the villains and the cops and their stories.
Some cops were villains too which makes for a highly entertaining time.
Cheat ** Netflix
Game show with Danny Dyer. All right mate, apple and treacle.
Yeah it's ok mate but does me head in. Lotta shouting in me lughole and dunno wtf is going on half the time. Geezers, reckon Netflix should stick to drama, know what I mean?
Akhter who was with us at the retreat last year tells Elizabeth Bobby Axelrod is back in Billions next series.
That's good news - it was getting dire without him. Thanks Akhter for the scoop and we'll see you at the retreat again later this year!

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too.
****
COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

I refuse to be replaced by a bot even though I'm past it and probably need replacing.
I have to laugh though: I really did get some emails from people who really thought it was Bard, Google's AI bot that had written the website last week.
Some of the people who believed it was an AI bot and not me attempting satire (badly I know) wanted me back and asked me not to use AI anymore!
So either I'm brilliant at satire or really crap at it. Either way best to leave satire alone, eh.
But I am glad you wanted me back. Makes me feel wanted. Go on, I'll carry on writing this stuff for a bit longer before putting myself out to pasture.
Probably not for much longer though as soon you'll trust bots to buy and sell shares for you.
Don't say I didn't warn you when they take over your computer and steal all your cash.
Thanks to Bev, John and Tim for your lovely mails, so glad you're doing well from the books and seminars. Down to you though for following the rules and not going rogue.
Right onto markets then.
So far the year's been pretty decent but after general rises what's next?
For now, markets seem to be pricing in a few more interest rate rises as long as that will be that and they come down.
Personally and very selfishly interest rate rises suit me.
I don't add any money in except the 20k isa allowance and put gains from things like spreadbets into the nice safe N S and I account which is 100pc guaranteed.
I can't be bothered to put 85k into lots of different accounts for a bit of extra interest.
I got another £150 from a premium bond win today - I have the full 50k allowed and we are currently getting 3.3pc interest.
Roughly then with the full holding you ought to get with average luck £1,500 ish a year tax free. Surely a no brainer? I got £250 the previous month.
With raised prize money you are likely to pick up £100s and £50s rather than £25s.
I noted a "think tank" suggested the most you should be allowed in your isa is £100k.
Obviously this won't happen but I wondered why this has been publicised so much.
Then I realised: it might be a clever/sneaky precursor to a probable upcoming cut to the 20k yearly allowance.
Pretend things are going to be a lot worse so people sigh with relief that it's just an allowance cut rather than a cap.
My bet is Hunt cuts the allowance to 15k from 20k and then possibly to 10k year after.
Bung in your 20k before the tax year end just in case. One of my brokers II (have a sipp and isa there) is offering £125 off costs on a refer a friend thing, let me know if interested.
It's appalling governments continue to discourage savers and promote spending.
Savers always get penalised for trying to build a nest egg so as not to have to rely on the state.
The online seminar last week brought up a few interesting trading ideas.
There are a surprising amount of trading ranges around that we uncovered.
That is shares that regularly go from one point to another and back again.
One such (thanks to John for bringing this up at the seminar) is PZ Cussons.
It makes lots of shopping staples and well knows brand names like "Carex".
Because it's a reasonably steady sensible business the market rates it too cheap at around 180p and too dear once it hits 220p.
Seemed a decent idea to get in then in the 180s looking for a rise back up.
Looks an idea to nothing as it it say falls much under 180p then something might not be right and get out for a small loss.
It it then gets up to the 210-220p level time to take profits then go short. Rinse and repeat?
One of the 50 trading strategies in my new book out soon is trading ranges If you get them right and ensure you get out if the range breaks down or up they can be profitable.
The book is due to be published in Mid July.
Harriman House is about to close its bookstore but before it closes in June it offers a discount on the new book (NT book of trading strategies).
Use code "NTSPECIAL" at checkout at Harriman-house.com. Price is £14.85 inc postage saving you £7.14. (Search for my name to find the book).
Begbies Traynor we noticed has established a rough 128p-147p trading range.
Pretty good prospects for this insolvency practitioner which reported on Tuesday.
Begbies made a lot recently from the insolvency of Paperchase and seems bullish on more cases coming its way.
Adjusted profits are expected to come in at around £20m so at the current rating it should at least head back up to the late 140s. Whether it can break through there though is the question. It made a small acquisition today.
Me Group upset investors on Tuesday by saying it would publish results later in the day which caused upset in the share price.
Anyway investors and traders are natural worriers, give them any slight thing to moan about and boy do they moan and whinge about the slightest thing.
I was perfectly happy to pick up some more, I think MEGP is worth north of 160p, any bid would surely have to be around the 200p mark?
Victorian Plumbing has been a super share, I more than doubled my money on it since buying last year.
As I reported I took profits on some of it recently but bought some back today on the basis of a very strong statement this morning.
Things look to be very decent there - VIC is expanding and has agreed a 20 year lease for a new massive distribution centre.
Housebuilders/property kept coming up on short screens last week.
Persimmon looks the pick of ideas to go short.
Property companies are facing a lot of problems and they seem a decent shorting target.
It was a toss up between Redrow and Persimmon but Persimmon got my vote.
There was quite a nasty warning yesterday and despite a massive markdown already there is potential for more falls here. A good one for a short as it's over a tenner so lots of points to go for.
The Stockopedia screens worked really well at the seminar last week especially picking up short ideas and quality ideas.
You can get a 14 day free trial of them here and a good discount:
https://www.stockopedia.com/nakedtrader
We'll be using them at the beginners/improvers online seminar on March 10th.
Sign up and spend a day with me, some lovely people and live markets, and a lot of screening!
Elsewhere ITV did today what it does every time, goes up before results then falls on the day.
Then a few days later start to rise again. It has been doing this for so long.
So I sold mine earlier this week for a profit of £1,070.
The idea now is to wait a little bit then buy again given the hidden value.
The shares actually have only fallen a little today so I may have to get back in quicker than usual.
Some bits and pieces of loss and profit taking.
Boy went for a profit of £656.
Wilmington results were ok but not enough to really push up much more so I sold taking a profit of £391.
Indivior soured its decent case with a legal problem and I got stopped out of a few though not all for a loss of £304. Looking to buy again as it seems to be consolidating at the mo.
I took profits of £378 in REC. They now seem a touch overrated compared to Argentex.
I got a great ride out of Lbg and have taken profits of £2,430
Aston Martin went up knocking out one of the shorts on a trailing stop for a profit of £10,080.
Still being bankrolled this would have gone bust a long time ago!
All together then profits and losses taken amount to a profit of £14,701.
Elsewhere Argentex shows great strength and looks to have more to run. Science saw
big buyers yesterday.
Good results from Ricardo and BAE - BAE looks set for a run up to 1000p. I
bought a few live as a spreadbet at the online seminar last week.
Just to note I reckon Telecom Plus has gone down way too much and there is a rally on. The shares should in time climb back up to the 2500p level.

It's that time of the year when you can add 20k into an isa.
It is an amazing tax perk and we are very lucky to have it, I am especially grateful and remember the feeling a while back when I made the first tax free million in one!
I use Barclays, IG and Interactive Investor for mine.
Interactive Investor have a referral thing for the moment so if you want £125 of fees taken off let me know - available for anyone who invests 10k plus.
On the referral I apparently would get £200 into my account so a win win for both of us?
If you want to go for the referral and the money off email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com and will send you details of how we can do it.
Stockopedia as ever is SO useful. It really is a must have! And some fantastic talented writers/commentators too like Paul Scott.
Brilliant stats on all shares, amazing stock screens and lots more.
https://stockopedia.com/nakedtrader
gets you a big discount and 14 days free trial.
Spreadco still seems to have the tightest spreads for FTSE 250 shares and the FTSE.
https://www.spreadco.com/nakedtrader to open an account under Dymitry.
***Research tree discount offer: 20pc off.***
I really can recommend it as it is a big help and complements the brilliant stockopedia, the only other site I recommend.
So this site has broker notes on companies, plenty of in depth research. You can find things such as pre-tax profit forecasts and the most shorted companies. There's an easy search facility and also a news feed.
So for example on the morning of a share result or statement you can get a broker report on that share, it is really useful! Broker reports are usually very in depth and I especially like being able to see a full year pre tax profit forecast which seems impossible to get elsewhere.
You can get a limited free account - for full access if you like it - click "upgrade" and there is a 20 per cent discount if you type nakedtrader into the discount code box.
The address is research-tree.com - for the discount remember the code nakedtrader after you ask to upgrade. If you upgrade let me know if the upgrade thing works well and is easy or if you encountered any probs getting the 20pc off.
For small caps try http://www.spreadex.com/nakedtrader. Spreadex say for the moment they will carry on with most of the shares so that could be another place to deal in shares IG won't.
Trades made for my sipp are exclusively available on my email service (this is the website stuff plus exclusive trades mailed to you earlier on update days). For subscription details mail me

If you are thinking of A ftse trade try https://www.spreadco.com/nakedtrader
as their spread is the tightest at 0.8. Also very pleased with execution - FTSE cos the cheapest spreads there too.
It is hard to find a firm that does prices on the very small companies but this company does: https://www.spreadex.com/nakedtrader

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
