The book is a total update since the last one which I wrote in 2011 - a lot has happened in the market since then and I cover all the changes such as the new ISAs and duty free AIM shares.
There are tons of ideas, trader stories, psychology, biggest trading mistakes and 20 trading strategies to make money. Also loads of stuff I have learned over the last three years.
New insights into trading tax free, tons of examples, a whole load of new traders' tales and some of the trades that have helped to make me well over £2 million tax free.
If you bought NT 3, I think you'll find it is worth getting the update. My new views on AIM shares now they are tax free, loads of analysis of trades I made more recently. And loads of new stuff on psychology and why you might be losing, including a new look at confirmation bias and the effect this has on your choices.
I would say this but I think it's my best effort yet, especially pleased with the stuff I've written on why so many people end up losing. I've met a lot of people at seminars and talking to them really helped me to understand the problems encountered and so pass that on.

**Quick note for those who came to the seminar on Monday, let me know if you didn't get the notes and trading sheet... one or two people found it in their spam folders...**

Did you catch that show on home traders on BBC2 on Monday?

If not watch it on I Player. Oh my goodness. Talk about lessons in how not to do it - the programme was enough to put anyone off.

One guy had been "trading" for seven years and not made any real money. And yet he decided to persist.

He didn't feel good being an antiques dealer - he wanted to be a "trader".

It was almost a cry for help. It was kind of like "I wish I was a more exciting person and people thought I was exciting and interesting. So I will call myself a trader."

All he actually did was sit in front of a bank of screens (this is what all "traders" do - the screens are in effect penis substitutes, you know what I mean) and put on tiny bets on currency movements.

With guess what, no real plan, no confidence, no discipline. "But you're not making any money," says his sister. "But I want to be a trader," he insists.

Being a "trader" simply isn't glamourous. I had to laugh when the new at home trader got his "trading systems" delivered.

And of course, the ubiquitous massive six huge screens arrived. It's the penis thing again. Hey, look at me, master trader with my big screens and my massive charts!

No-one needs this - I use one HP all in one and a battered old laptop, get this, on windows 7 !! The truth is you don't need any of this crap to make money.

I felt most sorry for the nurse in the country. She had "made 1.5 million" trading not real money on a demo account. (Guess what they give you massive pretend money on these demo accounts to get you to trade real money)

At least she just had an I Pad and no screens (I guess she had no need for a replacement willie).

But you just knew when she started trading real money she'd lose. £6,000 rapidly halved. She was trading Forex. 99% lose doing this. She was always going to lose. I felt terrible on her behalf. I really wish I could get her to a seminar.

Why oh why do new traders do the same thing and try and trade the hardest markets and indeed feel they have to "trade" all the time?

The only way to make money is slowly and steadily over time NOT trading forex, indicies, commodities etc. They are a giant casino and they will take all your chips eventually.

Then we had the pensioners club. That was ok, it was a bit of fun, a hobby. But you just knew the minute they bought Asos for a "short-term trade" it would turn into a long term loser.

They were all excited for a few seconds till weeks later they still held Asos which had gone "tits up".

Two young guys spent their time trying to persuade rich football players to give them some money to play with on the markets. Persuading them on an I Pad that they knew what they were doing.

Somehow you got the feeling that these lads were going to screw it all up and it wouldn't be long before the footballers wondered what had happened to their money.

The footballer they went to see wisely only gave them 100k to play with. Of course to him it was just a week's work....

The only one that seemed to have a plan was a macho guy who spent the whole show losing weight and getting fit for a magazine. He ate broccoli a lot and pumped a lot of iron for no discernable reason. His wife was just relieved at the end of it they could go out for a meal at last.

The programme really failed to reveal the big risks of trying to trade full time. Or the psychology behind why this lot lost and indeed most do. A shame...there is a great programme in that.

We did a lot of psychology at the seminar on Monday which was kicked off by one delegate, a really lovely chap, I won't reveal his identity but he very bravely and honestly said:
"
I have managed to lose roughly £20,000 in the course of a few days. How did I achieve this impressive feat? Well quite simply I went over one of the "tipping points" you talk about in your book. When you said to beware of trading the indices, I decided I knew better, and the string of winning trades on the FTSE I enjoyed over the next three months only convinced me further that I possessed a rare talent.

A week or two ago, I saw that the DOW was nearing record highs, so took out a short on it, a few days later it had risen higher and I took out another . Then on Wednesday night it started to shoot up explosively. At this point I lost all contact with sanity and started to take out short after short, convinced that a correction MUST be on the way, and dreaming of how I was going spend the vast windfall that would soon pour into my pockets.

I woke up this morning, to find out that all my positions had been "margin called" overnight as the DOW futures continued to rise, and all my short bets had been closed out, with huge losses. Taking with them not only my profits but also most of my starting capital.

Yes, it is money I can (just about) afford to lose, but my goodness it hurts! And it's left me with only the dregs of my original spread-betting capital to try to re-build with. It appears my dream of never working again may have been somewhat premature. The saddest thing about this is that I have read/listened to your book a dozen times now, and thought I had absorbed it's lessons. I guess you only learn the hard-way in this life."

I think we sorted him out over the day. And he starts with a clean slate. What he did and what the traders programme showed is trading turns people into gamblers and nearly all gamblers lose. I think he can turn it around - the main thing is not to chase the money he already lost too hard.

Indeed thanks to all of you who came to the seminar, you were so lovely. I really enjoyed it and some nice future trades came up. All sorts of people from all walks of life, all with fascinating tales to tell.

I was really pleased to see a lot of you beginning to understand how to make the money and let the money come to you. Hopefully going through all my accounts helped, as did the research and the level 2 timing tricks.

I believe a lot of you understood how important that was by the end of the day. And thanks for all your lovely feedback!

One of you wrote to me: "Without doubt one of the best training course of any kind I've ever been on. 12 hours of solid actionable content and advice."

I hope you all take on board what we did and use the notes and the trading sheet I sent you all and I wish you all the best of skill and see one or two of you for the follow up in October.

Next seminar date is fixed for November 3rd, you can book now with a decent discount, see a bit lower for more.

Mrs NT and her sister had a ball at the Kate Bush concert.

Amazing, they say. Like a theatre show and best of all no-one was allowed to get out their mobile phones what a great idea.

The only problem was the next day I was having breakfast in the kitchen, next thing I knew they were playing Kate Bush.

Me and Christopher exited the kitchen fast. Frankly I'd heard the cat next door being forced to have sex with the local alpha Tom... seminar

Where was I on the US road trip? I won't go on for too long about it.

We continued on the road staying 2-3 nights at each place. Visited an amazing Ritz Carlton in Lugana Bay. What views of the beach. Plenty of surfing there and Christopher went to surf school. We complained about the room so got moved to a suite!

A lot of playing around in the sea. Back on the road to the small bayfield. Then a massive drive to San Luis Obispo.

Absolutely terrible traffic on the highway, took more than 7 hours. Visited the famous Santa Cruz Boardwalk, real old fashioned Us boardwalk with great rides and games.

We ended up the final bit of the trip to Lake Tahoe up north on the border between California and Nevada. Superb views up the mountain and that's where I nearly got done for speeding as described last time.

Indeed Tahoe is split between the two states which is fun. On one side it's all health juice and modern buildings and on the other it's like going back in time with old fashioned and neglected looking casino facades.

We went for a cycle tour around the Nevada bit. We went into one casino for a look, full of pensioners eeking out dimes and quarters for a day of losing small money. and we did a fab hike up a mountain.

All in all a brilliant trip, definitely do something like that again. The car bit could be a bit tedious.. but it was all worth it. Not knowing quite where we would end up felt great. So, if you ever think of having a drive round California, do it !!!

My next seminar on Monday November 3. mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com for details with "November seminar interested" in the subject line.

Beginners and improvers welcome! Come and spend the day with me, the markets and some lovely people - and of course, lunch, lots of sugary snacks, and even live chocolate waffle making in the teabreak!

My seminars are designed for beginners, dabblers and improvers and deals with everything from how to look for winners, how to research, spreadbetting, level 2 use how to time trades and short, how to use advfn properly and run your portfolio without having to spend money on systems and tipsters.. and tons more.

A lot of the day comes directly from the live markets and I show you many of the tricks I use to get good prices live. And there might even be the odd live trade or 2!

Here's some feedback from from "D"

'It's obvious from his site Robbie Burns is a good market analyst and shrewd stock-picker. He is also a highly opinionated commentator on everything from TV shows to food. Therefore I expected his seminar to be 75% entertainment, 15% general exposition for beginners and-- if we were lucky-- 10% of something I could use to help me invest. But I could not have been more wrong.

The opinions on food and politics etc. though genuine, are I believe a bit of disguise or misdirection for there is a real touch of rebel genius here. And in the seminar, which is 95% hardball, he actually takes you candidly right into the mental process involved in his successful trading, making it a pretty amazing display, even showing his own investment accounts right there on the screen. You can see at once why so many of us are merely stabbing in the dark with our investments.

This is a genuine coaching session in how to trade like him if you put in the graft. I have only bought one stock since, as I am waiting for the tools he recommends, but I got the price down by using his tactics and I cannot recommend the seminar too highly if you are going there to learn. It must be taxing on him to let us at such length and in such detail into the process, which has made him so much money (for--unlike so many other so-called experts the seminars are not a day job). My advice therefore would be to sign up for this while he is still prepared to do it.'

Naked Trader Seminar Latest News

NEW DATE: NOVEMBER 3 NEAR HEATHROW
Fancy spending a day with me, learning all the ways I have learned over the years to find good shares and play the markets? Well, you can at one of my seminars!
Booking is open for the Naked Trader seminar on November 3

Price is £650 plus vat. However there is a decent early bookers discount available for those booking nice and early.
That includes three course lunch, coffees, snacks etc.
The seminar is mainly aimed at beginners and dabblers though improvers are welcome too.
Topics covered using live market feeds all day include: Market psychology, level 2 - a simple guide to how to use it for better timing; how to value companies; finding companies that are about to rise. I will also cover techniques for handling events such as the recent meltdown and volatility.
Spreadbetting: How to use it to gain an edge and go short. Market makers - how they work and how to beat them; how to stop losing money and make it instead and plenty more.
How to plan trade entries and exits - how to research companies and understand reports, plus all those niggly questions you always wanted to ask. How to set stop losses and targets. Charts and how to use them.
Also covered: Market maker tricks: How to spot tree shakes and use them in your favour, How to tell when NOT to buy a share. I use live ADVFN all day with lots of level 2 and looks at all kind of live market data.
The idea behind the seminar is SIMPLICITY. I don't use jargon or fancy words - everything is in PLAIN ENGLISH! No question is too stupid and the event is held in a friendly relaxed and supportive environment.
The idea is you will come away from the event I hope a wise and better investor with lots of new ideas. I try and translate complex topics into easy bite size pieces. I also aim for it to be entertaining as well as instructive.
If you are interested please e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "Nov seminar interested" in the subject line and I will send you full details of the event including comments from those who have come to previous seminars and you can then decide whether you would like to come. See you there!
One seminar attendee Clare wanted to write a testimonial about her experiences at the seminar which follows now!
"I've just come back buzzing from one of Robbie's seminars. What a day! He's just brilliant, and manages to pack an awful lot into one day, and with his enthusiastic and humorous delivery the day just flies by. There are no gimmicks, no sell, no "˜get-rich-quick' promises, just his own solid, sound approach which he has learnt over the years and which works.
He shows you how to minimise the risks and maximise the profits and points out the banana skins on the way. Where the seminar really comes into its own is when he teaches using live level 2. Hearing him talk through his thought processes and reasoning is invaluable, and really brings home everything from the book. He has endless patience answering peoples' questions, and really seems to care that everybody understands.
On top of that, you meet some really nice like minded people and swap e mail addresses, you're plied with
chocolates and coffee all day, have a great lunch and spend the evening getting tiddled with Robbie in the
bar afterwards!
Don't worry about the cost, it's easily worth it, and you'll soon make it back with your new-found investment skills, and in what you're no longer losing. If you're thinking of going along to his next seminar, whether you're a novice or an experienced trader, don't hesitate ""just go!
Thanks Clare, did you want the tenner in cash, or will a cheque do?

If you like to trade the FTSE, Dow, or currencies then Spreado has an outstanding tight 0.8 spread - that is incredibly tight. The platform is very good and robust and have used it to great satisfaction and profits.

Naked Rambling

Oh no. It's party conference season I can't bear it. Ed Balls and Ed Moribund.

Same old stuff. I have to switch off. If they win next year we really are all doomed.

The note they left when the left office "There is no money left" will seem trivial compared to what they might leave next time when they've totally maxxed out the country's credit card. It's the same old stuff from the two Ed's.

Moribund's horrible aren't I clever talking with no notes thing meant he didn't talk about the economy at all.

And it is the same old tax and spend stuff we've grown used to. Putting the tax up again is such a bad step, it adds no money and stifles the economy and job creation.

There are simply no new ideas of any kind or any interesting thinking at all.

I think if the Ed's get in we are in for a terrible 5 years and I think I will be selling up my shares and doing something else for a while!

I see Downtown Abbey's back. I really don't think the Mrs has noticed, it looks like I might get away without watching this series.....

Maybe it's because Bake Off is the one thing on her mind. I can vaguely see the attraction but I kind of have my limit on reality shows and I found it hard to care much about whether a cake will make it or not!

As to the X Factor can hardly believe it still going. It is such a yawn.

Strictly is more fun, it doesn't take itself seriously. The only thing is it seems unfair to allow people who are obviously already good dancers on the show.

I reckon it would be more fun it they all had never been trained in any way or form in dancing or stagecraft. Because even at an early stage the winner is obviously between just three people.

I watched Fargo TV series on my own, it was excellent and just got the DVD as the Mrs wants to watch it too now.

Happy to watch it again and if you didn't catch it on Ch 4 earlier this year worth a watch!
I use this company to spreadbet sports with

http://www.spreadex.com/nakedtrader/sports
Good quick execution of bets and a great range of markets. Recommended!

Dave writes :
I agree with comments about Dr Who and Breaking Bad. I used to enjoy Dr. Who years ago but I think it's worn out, it's all about celebrity now, like everything else on telly.

I recently was enjoying the Sopranos a friend let me borrow (fascinating story lines) and my son Rob in Australia (an irrelevance to you of course), he said if you like Sopranos you'll love Breaking Bad. Wow was he ever right. I got the full set from Amazon (apart from the last season). I'm having to eke it out it's so brilliant I don't want it to end, that's the sad bit. What about the uncle in the desert in the wheelchair with the bell strapped to the arm of the chair, the missus and me just fell about and many more just brilliant set ups dragging out every emotion.

Agree Dave, love Breaking Bad. Only five to go for me and I won't spoil what happens for you except it gets more and more addictive!
Gary writes :
"For throwing your heart, soul and energy into one fact-packed, full-on and exhaustingly educational day: FIVE stars with no hesitation!!
Met some really nice people too - like me, nervous that it was the most we'd ever spent on a whole day of anything (had we made arses of ourselves?) But no one felt short-changed, especially when you were still going strong when we all wanted to go to bed! One of your delegates, Susan, back for a second time, said to me unequivocally, "you will go away absolutely inspired." I can't disagree.
Thanks Gary, hope you make some money!

Duane writes:
Wanted to say a big thank you to you and Mrs NT for an amazing day of learning and fun at your seminar.

The way you explained the share trading from start to finish was understandable and really interesting, well worth the seminar fee!
It was great to hear such down to earth and honest assessment from a successful trader like yourself. The way you explained everything was good revision from your book and gave further insight into successful share trading.

I particularly liked your live trades and going through your accounts when you gave snippets of why you invested in certain shares and why you kept/dumped them. Also helpful was the way you searched for prospective shares and within minutes discounted them or put them on a short list for further examination and correct entry points. Amazing!
You could really tell that you loved doing what you do and your energy levels to keep going till 10pm was well....... I had to leave at 9pm I was shattered!

Thanks again Robbie I am keen to put into practice what you have taught me. Even though you make squillions from your trades and I am sure don't need to do the seminars for financial gain, but please keep doing those seminars for newbies like me!

Thanks Duane! Don't expect to be doing them foreever but very rewarding for me to help people so expect to carry on for a while longer.
Gabriel writes:
If you are reading this, you are perhaps considering going on one of Robbie's Seminars. You maybe asking yourself (like I did) the testimonials are all well and good but once the euphoria and excitement of attending a Seminar has died down ..... and I am back home in my normal routine and faced with the "graft" of putting it all into practice... will I become a better trader and be financially better off?
Let me tell you that in my case it certainly has!
Book your place pretty sharpish....... is what I say !

Thanks Gabriel!

Fantastic seminar.

I have always been sceptical of the public testaments you see on web sites

genuinely believe that the tips and techniques as well as the overall

Thanks Terry, well all the testaments are real but know what you mean and glad you feel it was worth it!

Markets

***
EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too. This includes asking me what to do with a share, what I might "think" about a share, or deconstructing any of the buys I mention here. I would be grateful, see FAQ for more on this. Of course more than happy to answer general questions not related to specific shares.
****
COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.
****

A reminder next seminar is Nov 3rd, Mail me for details at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "November seminar interested" in the subject line. Follow up seminar for those who've been before and would like another day with me and lots of live trading is on Oct 17th, mail me with "follow up interested".

New Stockbroker Account With Free Trades For A Month

I use three stockbrokers and never really wanted to recommend any of them as they all have their failings and are much of a muchness.

Not any more! I've been using Ig's new stockbroking account which has just been launched and put some of this year's ISA allowance into it.

Wow. Really very impressed. Not only can you get better quotes (I think) than some of the others but on some of the shares you can even put your order for shares directly on the order book.

Plus much easier to follow your holdings and how they are doing and I'm very much considering transferring a million from my ISA into it.

And even more sensational? Currently paying no commission at all on the trades!

FREE trades for a whole month after you place your first trade. That is sensational, I never have seen that before.

So I suggest go for it - here is the link:

https://www.ig.com/uk/stockbroking-with-ig?CHID=2&QPID=8124&QPPID=1

Pow! Take that. The markets appear to be more like a casino this week.

Small investors and traders are round a massive table and the casino has decided to grab all their chips. (Casino chips not those kind of chips, silly). Now I could murder a bag of really good chip shop chips.

Back end of September and October can be a tricky time: volatility increases and it definitely gets harder.

That's especially if you have volatile shares, it is just so easy to panic and sell just as it is about to bounce and buy at the top too.

Anyway this where there massive ftse shorts I have as a hedge have worked out - as those who came to the seminar saw, I have some quite large shorts all in near the top at 6900. And some shorts have done their job in the isa.

I've set stops on the ftse shorts so let the market close them out when it inevitably rises again. But I'm up more than 15 grand overall at the mo. I'll let stops take me out on those, so I don't expect to bank that much. Though if the index carries on going down they would pay out some more. This isn't really my thing and I use the FTSE shorts as more of a hedge against longs than thinking about making money out of it on its own.

By the way the spreadbet firm with the tightest spread on the ftse at 0.8 is spreadco.com/nakedtrader.

A few interesting potential trades showed themselves at Monday's seminar. Again thanks very much to those of you that came. I hope you all enjoyed that good look through my isa and spreadbet accounts... as you all saw I make a lot more than you might imagine from the website!

I bought Iomart (IOM) - You may remember the last trades in this made me a lot and hoping to repeat the trick.

As those at the seminar saw, I got some new shares at 216.5 (quite a few!) And I nipped a few more at the seminar too in the mid 220s around the price it is today.

Once a company is bid for it often happens again a little later in the future. Iomart's fundamentals look pretty good. It's not some pie in the sky tech company... it makes real profits.

Someone will snap it up at some point in the future so I expect to hold the shares for some time.

I also bought some Sprue Aegis (SPRP) which came up at the back end of the seminar getting some at 290.2 this afternoon.

We know parts of the world are going health and safety mad so this is a H and S play. It has good cash and a good rising business so my thought is unless question marks appear or there is a market meltdown then my thoughts are a potential long-term ISA hold.

I've always done well with heathcare stocks so Spire Heath (SPI) kept popping up in my mind. It doesn't fit at all with my normal metrics, ie it has massive net debt. But of course it also owns a lot of property so has assets more than the debt. Still, very hard to value.

But... I'm impressed with the potential growth here. It has just bought St Anthony's Hospital and a radiotherapy centre in Bristol has just opened.

So my thought is a long-term ISA tuckaway, however of course get out if the share price did tank for any reason. I'm in at just over 270.

AudioBoom (BOOM) surprised me totally. Boom, Boom, shake the room indeed.

Surprised me by doubling in such a short space of time which was quite enough for me to consider taking some profits so I bagged half profits on it at 17.25 to bank a very quick £2,200. Well, as those of you who were at the seminar know, I had a few more than that so in reality I have banked a lot more..

I'm now considering buying back the BOOM shares I sold and it is looking tempting right now as it sits at around 13.5-14p well off the high.

It announced yesterday a new app and has relaunched its content and has so many deals with the top names. One for the future which looks bright.

A surprise to the other side was Rgs - I have sold them and then bought some back.

I didn't think the statement was that bad but the market didn't like it. And you have to go with that - the order book looked terrible but I waited way too long, could have sold at 312 but instead ended up selling in bits and pieces between 280 and 294 which banked a profit but lost some very good paper profits.

It now seems madly oversold and so bought some back at 216.9 today and just about to buy some more in the 220s where it is now as I write.

I flogged Ieh at 270.1 for a profit of £800 . That's because supply and demand tests showed a downswing very likely (those who came to the seminar know what I mean). And indeed it has gone a little lower and about to buy back. Actually I kind of wish I hadn't bothered selling it now, I think it will head back up.

I sold some of the HTY I have left as it seems near the top of its range to bank a profit of £5,925.

Let me have a look at some that have reported.

GVC reported this week, and what a great report it was. Another stunning dividend payout on the way. It has had a good summer with superb rise in profits and it had a great world cup.

Scisys put out some decent results this morning - profits up and net debt coming down. Nice under the radar share which should pay out nicely in time.

Seeing Machines has this week signed an agreement with Electro-Motive Diesel regarding monitoring fatigue in train drivers. It just shows the many applications for See's products and though it does remain a jam tomorrow share, I continue to buy the story and it could pay out big time longer term.

32 Red reported excellent results this morning. A nice little company and the share price should be a lot higher. Would be no surprise to wake up to a bid for this one in the 90p area while it is cheap.

Gulf Marine Services reported its first massive sea vessel is ready to roll and under budget. This under the radar share is really going to pay off sometime with patience!

Talking patience the Crapetshite shorts (Carpetright for the uninitiated) have worked a treat. Mainly shorted this in the 700s and 600s it is now approaching the 300s !! Profits for me personally in my spreadbet accounts and isa on the shorts are nearly £25,000 my best short ever. I think now just a touch more patience for a massive payout.

And even better looks like there is further to fall now Lord Harris has cracked and is selling shares. Whoever is buying them off him must be nuts. On any fundamental analysis they are only worth 200p at best.

(It can be hard to get a short on carpetcrap. Best place probably

Longer term holds like Entertainment One, Telecom Plus, Renew, Porvair, Jelf, OPG, Porvair, GB all doing fine.
The market is definitely going to be tough in the coming weeks. The only thing I can suggest is don't overtrade and don't chase the same shares up and down.

** Two Newer Spreadfirms I Use

FOR SMALL COMPANIES:

It is hard to find a firm that does prices on the very small companies but this company does:

http://www.spreadex.com/nakedtrader

It does spreads on smaller ones other companies don't like Dillistone so worth having an account for that, been using it for a while and very happy so far. They also have an Ipad offer at the moment which is on that link

***
TIGHTEST SPREAD FOR TRADING THE FTSE/DOW ETC

If you're into trading indices this one is the cheapest with just a 0.8 spread which is fantastic - execution is top too

http://www.spreadco.com/nakedtrader/

If you start using them and find any problems please let me know.
I've been getting e-mails regarding my use of direct market access and who I use. I've tried a few and for me the easiest system for me is here:
http://www.ig.com/nakedtradercfds

Direct market access means you can place orders directly onto the order book bypassing brokers and market-makers with a chance to buy at the "sell" price. I would suggest you ensure you know what you're doing first but IG does provide much education with its "tradesense" educational tool which comes with it.
I also use its spreadbetting service too along with other firms like Tradefair because it now provides trailing stops which to me is a pretty sensible way of trading. Also with this link there is an excellent education programme and it offers the biggest range of smaller shares.

As usual before opening accounts please read all the warnings on the sites. You can lose a lot of money if you're not careful so pay close attention to them and make sure you always understand what you are doing and what your potential losses are.

Capital Spreads offer

Capital Spreads offers a really excellent book on spreadbetting for those who open accounts through the link below. Spreads are very tight and every trade has to have a stop loss which is excellent discipline to have especially for beginners. Execution is really good I find and they also allow shorts on shares it is hard to get shorts on like say Carpetright or facebook.

Telecom Plus Offer

Want to quit the rat race? Try and start a new source of income so one day you can tell the boss to stuff it? You could do what I did to escape my grotty office job and become an independent distributor for the Utilities Discount Warehouse.

It's called residual income and is a far better way to enjoy a ripe old age than relying on a pension. Because even after you stop selling the money STILL comes in!
I still get paid EVERY MONTH for sales I made back in 1999! Every time a customer uses broadband or the phone or switches on a light you get paid.
It's a great business and backed by a stock market company (Telecom Plus), a dedicated team of advisors.. and me to help you on your way!
Not only do you get paid out every month for each customer you can take on distributors. encourage them like I do and get paid on their sales as well.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets
on every other Wednesday afternoon.
