***Spend A Day With Me On July 19Th ***
My next seminar is Friday July 19th near Heathrow. Especially for you if you can't make one during term time!
If you want details email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "July seminar interested" in the subject line and I'll send you details, there is an early bookers' discount available ... more details below too.
Follow Up Seminars Coming Up
Dates also for follow ups: July 1st follow up and July 13 for technical analysis, for more details see below somewhere! Those are for people who have already been to a seminar but want to refresh and follow up what they learned. I do live trading, timing and research all day!
*****
Well I was kinda thinking of making this the last update till early September. But..
As you're probably aware I want a nice relaxed summer and want to crack writing some fiction. So... though I won't do an update next week there will be one the week after - June 19th. Then just possibly one more before retiring till September.
And I will be meeting some of you next week anyway, next Friday June 14th for the seminar and look forwards to meeting you there - and those of you coming can find out if I bought anything in the meantime exclusively!
The next update should be interesting because next week as well as running the seminar, I'm off for a date with the Queen...yes, really! The real Queen. Her Maj.
Well, kind of. My sister got the OBE and she is to be presented with it by royalty. No, not Lord Sir Alan, the real thing.
And she can take someone with her and I have the honour.
Just as well as I can't imagine I'd ever get an honour for sitting at home on a computer buying and selling numbers.
Well, you never know, services to naked trading? Sitting at home filling my face with toast while buying and selling numbers? You're right, not a hope!
Anyway I have been checked out by the security services, and I've been passed as not being a nutter.
I have to get a morning suit though. Moss Bros I guess. What happens in the afternoon though? Do I have to change into an afternoon suit?
Apparently there is a lot of pomp and ceremony and I think I am going to get a royal buffet and a royal cup of tea.
I'll take some good old Yorkshire T bags with me as it's bound to be the terribly weak Twinings.
OMG. What if the Queen asks me what I do? "I'm the naked trader, maam..."
"Orf with his head...."
Do I bow or curtsey? Maybe she wants a share idea. "Buy, erm Royal Doulton Maam...."
Anyway I will fill you all in with the events of the day in the next update!
I was just about to book a week in Spain for half term when disaster stuck.. poor old Christopher got injured at football.
It was a 50-50 with the goalie and Christopher lost. His wrist got stamped on and so it was off to A and E. The poor lad was in a lot of pain
Lucky it was a weekend lunchtime so we got seen very quickly - he had a mild fracture and a cast was put on, and painkillers prescribed.
It put paid to any idea of going on holiday - he had to report back three days later for a proper cast to be put on - bright yellow rather nice.
It's not been fun for him: an active boy who just wants to play sport and can't is no fun.
He's not into TV or games (thank goodness) so all we could really do was pass the ball gently, He looked enviously at games going on in the park that he couldn't take part in.
His team lost the last tournament of the season after winning all the others. Okay I admit it we are secretly pleased they couldn't win without him. Is that bad?
Anyway we did our best over half-term. We had to put up with the crap weather and find things to do that weren't sport.
Still he is enjoying showing off his impressive bright looking yellow cast at school .
We saw Star Trek movie in 3D. Not bad, good first half, thought the last quarter dragged a bit though.
SEE SOME OF YOU AT THE SEMINAR!
I look forwards to meeting some of you on Friday.
Good news is the chef has promised to make us waffles with chocolate sauce fresh and live during the first break.... can't wait to eat th... I mean meet you all!
I really enjoy these days and meeting readers. Every one ends up being a bit different as it all depends on who is there and sometimes there are some very different roads we end up in.
Often seminars are also great for my trading as inevitably in all that time some shares come up that I might not otherwise have spotted and researched.
In the years I've been doing them I remember some fantastic ones popping on screens, the best one was the seminar where Mulberry kept appearing at 250... I remember buying the following Monday and although I sold out too early at 950 it was a tremendous profit. And the other really good one was Dialight that was 150 at the seminar and pushes 1200 now.
So selfishly hoping to discover something new myself! Those of you coming doors open 9.30am... follow the signs to Naked Trader..
Please remember I am paying for your parking but you MUST give your reg number in to reception or else you will get a parking ticket!
Please come and register from 9.30am and then find a seat - coffees will be there waiting for you and there is coffee and tea on tap all day. The chef promises me there will be great snacks and lunch! It better be good or there will be trouble.... I fancy fish and chips myself as one of the courses... we shall see!
Please do not worry if you are late, it's easy to get delayed Mrs NT will direct you to a seat.
Grab a coffee and some choc and just relax, I promise to be gentle with you all. I hope you all enjoy the day, as it's live from the markets who knows what will come up. And as you know I talk plain English with none of that idiotic jargon. See you there!
If you missed this one, the next is July 19th at Heathrow - this one is especially aimed at those of you who struggle to get to a seminar during termtime!
Mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com for details with "July seminar interested".

I use IG Index for betting on the very small companies, the only spreadbet firm I can find that does the smaller ones making it possible to trade AIM cos tax free.

Naked Trader Seminar Latest News
Fancy spending a day with me, learning all the ways I have learned over the years to find good shares and play the markets? Well, you can at one of my seminars!
Booking is open for the Naked Trader seminar on July19th
Price is £590 plus vat. (Early bird discount is on offer however)
That includes three course lunch, coffees, snacks etc.
The seminar is mainly aimed at beginners and dabblers though improvers are welcome too.
Topics covered using live market feeds all day include: Market psychology, level 2 - a simple guide to how to use it for better timing; how to value companies; finding companies that are about to rise. I will also cover techniques for handling events such as the recent meltdown and volatility.
Spreadbetting: How to use it to gain an edge and go short. Market makers - how they work and how to beat them; how to stop losing money and make it instead and plenty more.
How to plan trade entries and exits - how to research companies and understand reports, plus all those niggly questions you always wanted to ask. How to set stop losses and targets. Charts and how to use them.
Also covered: Market maker tricks: How to spot tree shakes and use them in your favour, How to tell when NOT to buy a share. I use live ADVFN all day with lots of level 2 and looks at all kind of live market data.
The idea behind the seminar is SIMPLICITY. I don't use jargon or fancy words - everything is in PLAIN ENGLISH! No question is too stupid and the event is held in a friendly relaxed and supportive environment.
The idea is you will come away from the event I hope a wise and better investor with lots of new ideas. I try and translate complex topics into easy bite size pieces. I also aim for it to be entertaining as well as instructive.
If you are interested please e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "April seminar interested" in the subject line and I will send you full details of the event including comments from those who have come to previous seminars and you can then decide whether you would like to come. See you there!
One seminar attendee Clare wanted to write a testimonial about her experiences at the seminar which follows now!
"I've just come back buzzing from one of Robbie's seminars. What a day! He's just brilliant, and manages to pack an awful lot into one day, and with his enthusiastic and humorous delivery the day just flies by. There are no gimmicks, no sell, no "˜get-rich-quick' promises, just his own solid, sound approach which he has learnt over the years and which works.
He shows you how to minimise the risks and maximise the profits and points out the banana skins on the way. Where the seminar really comes into its own is when he teaches using live level 2. Hearing him talk through his thought processes and reasoning is invaluable, and really brings home everything from the book. He has endless patience answering peoples' questions, and really seems to care that everybody understands.
On top of that, you meet some really nice like minded people and swap e mail addresses, you're plied with
chocolates and coffee all day, have a great lunch and spend the evening getting tiddled with Robbie in the
bar afterwards! You might even get to see the amazing crocodile boots . . . .
Don't worry about the cost, it's easily worth it, and you'll soon make it back with your new-found investment skills, and in what you're no longer losing. If you're thinking of going along to his next seminar, whether you're a novice or an experienced trader, don't hesitate ""just go!
Thanks Clare, did you want the tenner in cash, or will a cheque do?

Naked Rambling
Ooh, how exciting, Labour signalled they came up with a real policy at last! Ed Balls was due to deliver it.
Wow - maybe it was some amazing new idea to tackle the deficit! Maybe they were going to admit they screwed everything up but here was the big idea to fix it.
Of course - it ended up as nothing. Just something he thought up so he could say the word "millionaire".
Yes, the big idea: pensioners earning a certain amount won't get their energy allowance.
That was it. Saves peanuts. They came up with the idea of universal benefits. No longer. Despite the fact all pensioners have paid their taxes and contributions.
So those willing to work hard all their lives to make something of themselves don't get it.
Surely better to just add the money to pensions. The wealthier ones will get taxed on it the poorer won't. No?
I dunno - but this opposition to the coalition is just so awful. Balls feels like an arrogant deputy head.
And not a single interesting new idea of any kind. There is only a certain time left before they have to come up with something rather than just let the coaltion implode.
OMG a good idea from the Government and that happens rarely. Tackle the middle lane hoggers! Definitely!
These hoggers create accidents by sitting there encouraging frustrated drivers to undertake. And they create congestion by clogging up the lane.
The Government should have signs all the way along M-ways "Stay in the left hand lane unless overtaking".
My mum was the worst offender. I used to sit there red with embarrassment while she drove all the way from London to Scotland in the middle lane at 55mph with cars and lorries flying past her on both lanes.
There was nothing I could do to get her into the left lane. "I feel safe and comfortable here," she said. Well, that was the nicest thing she said. Like anyone, if you criticise their driving, you are going to get an earful.
Just as bad/worse are those texting while driving. This was really scary in Florida last year when everyone seems to do it and cars weave alarmingly all over the road. There were serious accidents everywhere there mostly caused by texters. It's crazy!
I do think though instead of fining the hoggers they should be offered a motorway driving lesson. Make them understand why middle-lane hogging is dangerous.
At last, something decent to watch on TV with the arrival of "The Americans", late Saturdays on ITV.
For those of you missing Homeland this is an ideal replacement with a great set up.
Based in 1981, two Russian spies deep undercover in the States rue the day an FBI agent accidentally moves in over the road.
Great fun, reminds me of a mix of The Sopranos, Mad Men and Homeland, a real treat!
The Apprentice keeps on going its usual way. Not really sure why they had to spend licence payers money taking them all to Dubai?
Must have cost a fortune, surely they could have done the same thing here?
What did it matter it was Dubai? They could have bought items for a hotel here and not wasted money. Maybe Lord Sir Sugar paid for it. Fat chance right?
Of course they all screwed it up and of course it ended up entertaining.
Can you believe Big Brother is back shortly? The show which should have been killed off years ago continues.
I can't really imagine many watching this time. Surely it has all been done to death now?
Too many kids on BGT to be sure and also so many acts were put through that could not possibly win.
Hot favourites Attraction will probably pull it off. Nice and moving though it is, it is a one idea thing. Still, good luck to them for their hard work and ingenuity and they deserve to win it.
Too many tedious singers in the final for me. Personally BGT should be about anything other than singing as surely there are loads of singing comps elsewhere.
You can bet on the outcome with Sporting Index, I did manage to get a bet on Attraction last week when they were a backable price and I still win if they come second.
Via this link Open a Sporting Index account and there's a £100cash offer - please check terms and conditions which apply.

Do remember if you do bet you ought to treat sports spreadbetting as entertainment - and expect to lose! Also with spreadbetting work out what your max loss could be and make sure you can afford it! In other words if you say backed the favourite at 15 for a fiver and they come nowhere your max loss is £75.

Agree about facebook - the youngsters who leapt onboard when it started,
posting dire photos of them doing things they shouldn't are now grown up and
getting on in their careers and errrrrr wondering if that photo of them
mooning in the disco in Majorca was a good idea!
Nice to think I am not the only unsociable grump to not want to follow the
minutiae of my friends and colleagues mostly boring lives!
I am in the states just now and feel the Starbucks asking name thing is just
more marketing bollocks to get them noticed. If they just speeded up the
service I might go there but americans seem to need all this 'service
bollocks' to make them think they are getting their moneys worth.
Thanks Anne,
well of course I agree, it's nearly all bollocks!
Duane writes:
Wanted to say a big thank you to you and Mrs NT for an amazing day of learning and fun at your seminar.
The way you explained the share trading from start to finish was understandable and really interesting, well worth the seminar fee!
It was great to hear such down to earth and honest assessment from a successful trader like yourself. The way you explained everything was good revision from your book and gave further insight into successful share trading.
I particularly liked your live trades and going through your accounts when you gave snippets of why you invested in certain shares and why you kept/dumped them. Also helpful was the way you searched for prospective shares and within minutes discounted them or put them on a short list for further examination and correct entry points. Amazing!
You could really tell that you loved doing what you do and your energy levels to keep going till 10pm was well....... I had to leave at 9pm I was shattered!
Thanks again Robbie I am keen to put into practice what you have taught me. Even though you make squillions from your trades and I am sure don't need to do the seminars for financial gain, but please keep doing those seminars for newbies like me!
Thanks Duane! Don't expect to be doing them foreever but very rewarding for me to help people so expect to carry on for a while longer.
Gabriel writes:
If you are reading this, you are perhaps considering going on one of Robbie's Seminars. You maybe asking yourself (like I did) the testimonials are all well and good but once the euphoria and excitement of attending a Seminar has died down ..... and I am back home in my normal routine and faced with the "graft" of putting it all into practice... will I become a better trader and be financially better off?
Let me tell you that in my case it certainly has!
Book your place pretty sharpish....... is what I say !
Thanks Gabriel!
Terry writes:
Fantastic seminar.
I have always been sceptical of the public testaments you see on web sites
saying how great an event was. Now I'm one of those people!. I
genuinely believe that the tips and techniques as well as the overall
approach you demonstrated will radically improve my trading performance
Thanks Terry, well all the testaments are real but know what you mean and glad you feel it was worth it!
Stephen writes:
I read your book and did the course - and I wasn't sure if I'd recoup the cost, it's been 2 years and I've made £38k + saved a loss transferring a Jupiter ISA heavily invested in BP. I can't tell you how important this is or how grateful I am. That's just me, who knows how much people have made with your help and saved by not making mistakes. I wanted to get into shares as they recovered after the crunch, but I assumed I had to put a large amount in one company I thought would make a big jump.
But what happens when you make £1m on the website, will you still do courses? I don't know how you do your ISA and SIPP investments, write the website, books, courses and answer e-mails. But please don't give it up. Couldn't you do the courses and have a standing website which gets updated with your trades say once a month so people can see what you do..
Stephen thanks so much for such a nice mail and much appreciated! Dunno about the future, I feel like I'm getting jaded. It's possible I might just reduce it all at some point to twice a month after going weekly - that would probably help. The other problem is other people's angst is getting to me and the email workload becoming overwhelming. I think after ten years it might be time for me to quit. Anyway good luck with your trades and hope you make a lot more.
I have 3 great offers from ADVFN.
ADVFN level 2 offer
First great deal: If you want level 2, through me it is only £350 for your first year including VAT!
This compares to £473 direct from advfn inc vat so this deal saves you over a whopping £120! ADVFN level 2 also includes all the live trades made through Plus Markets which I find invaluable.
To accept this great deal just e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "Level 2 offer" in the subject line and I will tell you how to get it. Level 2 gives you access to all the market maker positions and the order book and I would not trade without it!
More on level 2 in my book and I spend hours on it at my seminars. So if you get level 2 and want to learn how to use it properly live, book my seminar!
ADVFN Bronze Offer
To take up the offer, e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with Bronze in the subject line and I will tell you how to claim the deal.

Markets
Just for those of you who don't read about my life above, this was going to be the last update till September for my summer off.
However one or two pleas have won me over and I will commit to one more in two weeks, then back in September.
So no update next week but there will be one the week after I'll be thinking about whether the site can continue for much longer over the summer.
But I will be seeing some of you at my seminar next Friday (14th) and I'll discuss any new buys I might have made there.
If you missed that one the next is on July 19th, mail me for info at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "seminar interested" in the subject line.
Well not exactly a surprising retreat for the indicies once they made those highs.
Where next? I don't know: go ask an expert! Certainly it's volatile again kind of. with 50 plus point moves, down one day up the next but actually a whole lot of nothing much in reality though handy if you are a day trader for more points available.
Seems to be though it's just the top shares getting pushed around - in the area I deal in there hasn't really been so much movement which makes me perfectly happy given I am in "summer off" mode.
I suspect the current weakness is good news. If the markets had sped up over 7000 we might have had a very quick crash. As it is chances are for more weakness but then hopefully bargains will appear!
Indeed often the best time to buy a share you've been interested in is on a bad market day.
I can already start to see some nice bargains coming along: sometimes if you have the bravery to buy stuff when others are selling it pays off. Though still best to have a stop and a trading plan!
I'm not doing much trading right now or intend to do much over the summer and at any rate for now the portfolio keeps looking after itself with nice rises.
Older readers may remember I made a good profit (more than £25,000) on Microgen (MCGN) a while back.
Time to get back in I think! I bought some at 133.
The reason? The company's recent statement where reading between the lines it has put itself up for sale and I reckon a price of 180 might do it.
The company makes tons of cash - so much that it keeps returning it to shareholders but it still has mega cash sitting there and it isn't sure what to do with it. Maybe buy other companies, it says. Maybe sell off its divisions, it also says. It's looking at possiblilites right now.
But whatever it decides I think it will eventually push the price up but my overriding feeling was it would be happy to quit the market for a nice bid.
So my plan is easy: just sit with it. There isn't much downside in my view but plenty of upside. Patience will be required but I was very patient to make loads on it last time. Won't be so much this time but 30% will do me!
Those of you who get the email know I've been building a stake in a recent ish issue in my sipp since it launched - Fusionex (FXI) and I'm going to add this one to the main website here because I don't really rate it as high risk as I thought it was when I originally bought it.
There is potential for another 100p of upside I think and even a potential doubler over the next year. Profits are rising fast, it has a good cash bank and it's finding it easy to raise money for further expansion and it is expanding in Hong Kong.
Anyway picked up another lot of FXI at a tad under 250. And I've added some on a spreadbet too in the 250s and 260s.
I sold most of my AN after results today. Certainly it throws off plenty of cash which it's giving back in special dividends but it's reached and surpassed all targets and it's doubled since I first bought so I sold most at just over 350 - sometimes it is time to sell even long-termers.
That banks profits for the site of £7,786. And along the way I've also picked up £2,000 plus in dividends - I'll probably keep the last small batch longer-term.
Senior spreadbet reached its target so that's gone at 272 for a profit of £940 . Pace couldn't maintain its momentum and went at 259 for a profit of £40 after a raised stop got hit.
So that's total profits banked for website of £8,766.
Portfolio Highlights
The more volatile market hasn't has much effect on the portfolio which continues to do very nicely.
Nearly everything is still going up with my spreadbetting and ISA accounts booming despite me currently forking out 100s of thousands to builders for renovating a new property. Most of it coming from spreadbetting which is great as I hate using ISA money as it loses its tax benefits.
Recent buys and top ups all go well. Printer Xaar is going great guns as is the Facebook short.
Great results from Greencore sees the share price soaring away with profits for the site now enormous.
"Boring" Hellerman Tyton (HTY) has proved anything but boring - sitting around the 225-240 level where it may soon gain entry to the FTSE 250 which could push it up further.
The first lot bought when it listed around 195 are doing nicely so far.
Dart spreadbet especially goes very well 2 quid is a bit of a stumbling block for right now.
St Ives continues to soar higher, at this rate I shall nearly have doubled my money on the first lot bought not that long ago. 200 looks a likely target now as long as there isn't a huge crash as it continues to shine.
Lovely statement today from Porvair which helped push the price up. Looks like eventually it should head up to the 300 area another doubler, indeed trebler. It's well ahead of expectations and grows nicely. I suspect I'll be hanging onto it for at least another year.
Biggest holding Telecom Plus amazingly touched the13 quid mark after results. but been running this winner from 18p, the 80s and the early 100s has paid off. Website profits of well over £120,000 and personal profits of more £420,000. I just continue a long-term holder. It'll probably just go betweeb 1200 and 1300 for a while and there's a nice juicy dividend cheque on the way soon.
Coastal has been disappointing recently though nearly trebled on the first buy only breaking even on the second. However there might be a new buying chance coming up on current weakness. Though you can never tell with oil stocks which is why in general I leave well alone.
Vectura reported and the market seems to think it's okay... though the late 80s/90s sees it stall for now with support in the late 70s.
Loq has headed back up after its falls .. it should be less volatile now still timed my money by five on the first lot. It seems happy over 600.
Filtronic seems happy in the 60s. Unrealised profits for the site over £20,000 on this and banked profits over £4,000.
Sepura made a nice report then fell back a tad on profit taking. Long-termer BTG continues to be a great trade with big profits, doubled and a half on the first buy.
GB Group reported great results ahead of expectations this week, not enough to push it over 100 but more than enough to stay with it and not take profits yet
Costain continues to be a nice surprise - it won the contract to redo the Hammersmith flyover.l
Nichols just continues to rise and rise but might not be enough for it to clear a tenner for a while but I sit on a fabulous profit.
Dialight bubbles along around 1200-1350--my second biggest winner bought at 145p at a seminar in 2009 ! And topped up all the way along - as those of you who came to the seminar saw in my accounts profits on this are enormous. I don't see any reason to sell yet.
Open profits for the site are over £300,000.
I've been getting e-mails regarding my use of direct market access and who I use. I've tried a few and for me the easiest system for me is here:
http://www.igmarkets.com/nakedtrader
Direct market access means you can place orders directly onto the order book bypassing brokers and market-makers with a chance to buy at the "sell" price. I would suggest you ensure you know what you're doing first but IG does provide much education with its "tradesense" educational tool which comes with it.
I also use its spreadbetting service too along with other firms like Tradefair because it now provides trailing stops which to me is a pretty sensible way of trading. Also with this link there is an excellent education programme and it offers the biggest range of smaller shares.

As usual before opening accounts please read all the warnings on the sites. You can lose a lot of money if you're not careful so pay close attention to them and make sure you always understand what you are doing and what your potential losses are.

Telecom Plus Offer
You get to sell great broadband, phone packages and energy to friends, relatives, contacts and anyone else you find and you get cash for each sale but more importantly you get a cut of their spend EVERY MONTH for as long as they are a customer!
It's called residual income and is a far better way to enjoy a ripe old age than relying on a pension. Because even after you stop selling the money STILL comes in!
I still get paid EVERY MONTH for sales I made back in 1999! Every time a customer uses broadband or the phone or switches on a light you get paid.
It's a great business and backed by a stock market company (Telecom Plus), a dedicated team of advisors.. and me to help you on your way!
Not only do you get paid out every month for each customer you can take on distributors. encourage them like I do and get paid on their sales as well.
One day, say you could made redundant, needed a year off or wanted to retire early can you imagine what joy it is to have the regular income coming in. It's wonderful.
You have to work at it, but if you do genuine repeat wealth could be yours. I did it. You can too. For full details, why not email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com.
An overview is also available at http://www.utilitywarehouse.org.uk/fabdeal you can sign up directly there but do tell me! (Click become a distributor and follow links)

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets
on Wednesday afternoons.
