A weekend in town

** My new book - about spreadbetting - has just been published, you can order it here:

http://books.global-investor.com/books/401334.htm?ginPtrCode=10453

Welcome to any new readers coming to the website from the new book, I would suggest you read the spreadbetting book in conjunction with Naked Trader, available here:

**
There's one person I definitely don't want to be today. The husband who binned his wife's winning £113m lottery ticket.
I don't think it would take too much imagination to think the kind of words currently being used in that household. All I know is if the Mrs ever asks me to look after a lottery ticket, it'll be a firm "no".
It's my birthday on Friday .. which is the best excuse I can think of to take it easy and not update. What do you reckon? Yes, good. No update on Friday then.
Instead of writing an update as a birthday treat I'll put my feet up with piles of toast and watch Cash In The Attic instead of sitting at a computer writing stuff for you lot. Think of it as your present to me. Don't get upset - I promise I'll be twice weekly from now till I head off to South Africa for Xmas.
Oh, pleaassse no emailed birthday cards. Or emailed birthday wishes. But thanks for the sentiment. I'll imagine you all mailed me with birthday wishes. Now you don't need to. I thank you all as if you did it.
Goodness me, it's been a real whirl of things going on. Indeed I ate out in restaurants seven times in a row and I never want to see restaurant food ever again.
Sea Bass.. shudder. Lamb... no!!!! Pork belly.. Arrgggghhh! I can't take it any more. well maybe just one more chocolate pudding...
So grandma visited from Ireland giving me and Mrs NT the chance for a couple of days of relaxation away from the tough schedule of living with a five-year-old.
I'd booked the 5 star Marriott County Hall by the London Eye after reading some very good reviews. Well deserved reviews as it turns out, more in a mo.
How to get there? We thought for a change how about the bus that starts at the top of our road, take that down to Chelsea Harbour and get the river boat down to Embankment. What a lovely way to travel!
So we set off, got to the bus stop. Hang on, no bus! Where was it? It's always there on the hour and half hour ready to go. Of course sod's law dictates the only time you want to use it - it won't be there.
After ten mins of no show we sighed and walked to the mini cab office - but determined to try and do the river boat thing.
We arrived at the pier in plenty of time with just us and an American couple waiting for the boat scheduled to take us into town.
And would you believe it? The boat didn't appear either!
The piermaster came down and phoned the boat guy.
Some excuse that the river was shut as someone had jumped in. However reading between the lines it seemed more like the boat guy just didn't fancy turning up for four people.
We had to give up with the whole idea and took a cab instead! The journey cost for 5 miles of travel? £30!
The hotel was amazing. We got an upgrade which meant we had use of a lounge all weekend which produced all kinds of goodies whenever you wanted.
Water, beer, wine, fruit, hot drinks always available - and then breakfast, cakes and evening canapes. Marvellous!
I guess one weekend we may just shack up in the lounge!
The one thing the weekend made us realise was our lack of sleep.
Both Saturday and Sunday mornings we woke after 10am! Normally Christopher would be crashing into the bedroom to wake us up at 7am!
How amazing it was not to feel tired... of course Christopher is worth the tiredness but it was a reminder of non tired life pre the lad.
I suppose maybe what I learned is at risk of being a boring old fart is, I need to get to bed before midnight from now on!
We spent most of the weekend wandering around the city. The highlight was probably a visit to the vibrant Borough Market.
Incredible food stalls. Amazing cheeses, olives, breads, fruit and veg, honey, you name it they had it. Quality stuff you can't get in supermarkets.
The atmosphere is great too, it's packed.
We took buses everywhere and really enjoyed wandering around the South Bank. We had a view of Big Ben and the London eye from our room - wonderful!
The queues for the London eye are enormous on weekend mornings.
We got back on Sunday to a big welcome from Christopher who'd had a great time with Grandma (and a lot of chocolate treats judged by his face).
I took him swimming then it was time for another night out for me - this time to meet an old work colleague I hadn't seen for 25 years plus his sister who I met at a seminar! She arranged it all and we all had a great laugh.
My friend was the photographer on the local paper I started at and we had a whale of a time recalling old stories of silly stories and silly times.
He bought me a cuddly sheep for my birthday. To remind me of the sheep he placed in my garden after I joked I wanted one for my birthday.... I had to feed it muesli and it crapped all over my garden. In the end we both had to rugby tackle it to get it back to the farm...
We discussed the days before mobile phones when you could be out on a story and get a nice hour's kip in the car or an hour of peace in a pub without the editor being able to contact you. Wonderful!
And my winning fastest 50th wedding anniversary interview at just 37 seconds. Some of the funny stories we covered and all the silly things we got up to.
Which included me and my friend being chased across a park by angry readers we'd fooled in an April Fool story where we'd suggested if they turned up in the park at a certain time they might get on TV. (We escaped, just!)
And we remembered getting a council leader to strip off together with the carnival Queen to support another April Fool that the local swimming pool was to become nudists only!
Ah those were the days! No mobiles or blackberries or computers, just typewriters and landlines. A simpler age and I do wonder, much more relaxing than today's must do/call everyone RIGHT NOW!!!
I still don't have a mobile so if anyone wants to call me they can just... leave a message after the tone....
And I'll get back to you ... when I feel like it!
Thanks for the continued feedback on the seminar. I'm really glad to read some of you are already using some of the techniques I showed you.
Some of you appear delighted with one or two of the "tricks" I taught about timing and judged by the mails I'm delighted that you really did "get it"!!

Do remember which side of the order book is which! I hope if you all carry on using the tools I showed you, it ought to transform your trades.

Once again it was a pleasure to host the event and thanks for all those gin and tonics. Well, I think thanks - I wasn't so sure when I woke with such a sore head on Saturday!

Those of you who missed this seminar don't despair as I've booked the next date!

It's going to be on Friday Nov 26th. Booking now open so mail me for details at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "Nov Seminar interested" in the subject line.

Those of you booking at this early stage will get a very generous early booking discount!
Beginners and improvers welcome! Come and spend the day with me, the markets and some lovely people - and of course, lunch!
If you mail me I will then send you details and a full agenda of what is covered. Also more details below somewhere.

My seminars are designed for beginners, dabblers and improvers and deals with everything from how to look for winners, how to research, spreadbetting, level 2 use how to time trades and short, how to use advfn properly and run your portfolio without having to spend money on systems and tipsters.. and tons more.
A lot of the day comes directly from the live markets and I show you many of the tricks I use to get good prices live. And there might even be the odd live trade or 2!

**I'm now taking bookings for the technical analysis seminar on Sat Dec 4th with top trader Susan Marmor and myself. Learn to take the emotion out of trading by using simple TA techniques... you must have been to a previous seminar of mine to qualify unless you can persuade me you are already a reasonably experienced trader... Mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "TA seminar interested" in the subject line.

An interesting email from a reader. The thrust of it was he was going to buy a share after doing a lot of research but then it went up 12% and he hadn't bought it yet. So he felt angry.
How does he stop/halt the feelings of anger?
Well, you have to take the emotion out of trading. Which isn't easy.
I suggested he should read this book.. by Jason Zweig
http://books.global-investor.com/books/256158.htm?ginPtrCode=10453
This is the one to read on psychology. Great read.

Spreadbetting firm Tradefair Spreads has upped its offer exclusively to Naked Trader readers to a £100 credit. This offer is exclusive to me and not available anywhere else...
I've been using them for a few weeks to check that I'm happy with the service. As you know I don't take ads or allow referrals on the site unless it's a company I've used and I feel confident about.
What I like about it is it's easy to use, spreads are surprisingly tight on the smaller companies and interestingly an automated stop loss is applied to each trade - so beginners know what their max loss is from the outset.
Anyway they now offer a £100 credit as long as you deposit £100. You get the credit after you placed 5 trades (Terms and conditions apply)
If you'd like to apply for an account with Tradefair Spreads and get the freebie click this link:

The number of emails to me is nearly reaching saturation point and I'm struggling! I'm getting 100s which is lovely in a way but killing me in another.
The main problem is the length of some of them, indeed some run to the length of novels, so, please, help save my eyes and please keep mails to under 150 words.. you can do it! It's close to the stage where I am going to have to say I will answer all mails but those over 200 words will get deleted. Keep them short and sweet, please!!
Also, it's possible the answer you seek from me is already in FAQ's. And do remember I can't discuss individual shares with you as it would be classified as investment advice which I'm not authorised to give.
Many of you enjoy the cheap advfn toplists bronze deal through me as do many of you with the cheap level 2. However many of you say you want a half-way house to include real-time share prices always on.
So I'm pleased to announce I've managed to seal a new deal with Advfn for its "Silver" service - that's always on real-time share prices for a good saving (Bronze toplists etc are included in this).
The deal is via me you can save £30 for your first year by paying just £138.06 inc vat via me instead of £167.47.
Just mail me for full details if you'd like it with "silver" in the subject line.

They've just re-published "The Zulu Principle" by Jim Slater who's written a 2008 update at the beginning.
This is a brilliant classic book. Reading this is a real pleasure and it was a great idea to republish.
Jim believes like I do the best gains can come from smaller stocks and in an easy to read style takes you through how to evaluate smaller companies that are about to become bigger ones - he uses some excellent examples.
Really this is a must read for all more longer-term investors or anyone looking to grow their money... a number of you have also written to me about this book and praising it.
Here is the link to buy it:

Here's a very topical one: The Little Book of Bull Moves in Bear Markets by Peter Schiff.
The book is all about how to keep portfolios up in a down market. He focusses a lot on how to play commodities and win with some sensible advice especially on natural resources and precious metals. He is very much a realist and there is no rubbish here: some straight talking and some interesting strategies.
Everyone who invests should think seriously about keeping portfolios up in bad times so this book should be read.
Well worth picking up at this link:

Several people have asked me for a recommendation on a book which shows how to study accounts in a reasonably easy way. The one I like the most is http://books.global-investor.com/books/15717.htm?ginPtrCode=10453 by Robert Leach. Ten crunch questions to ask before buying any company.
It' s a decent easy-to-read book with several key chapters and it's highly recommended. It's one I keep and dip into from time to time. To order, click this link... http://books.global-investor.com/books/15717.htm?ginPtrCode=10453
The best book on charting and easiest read on the subject is http://books.global-investor.com/books/15618.htm?ginPtrCode=10453 by Alistair Blair. Click here -> http://books.global-investor.com/books/15618.htm?ginPtrCode=10453
Another good one is the second edition of http://books.global-investor.com/books/23792.htm?ginPtrCode=10453 by Peter Temple. Included in this one is how to use spreadbetting, CFD's warrants and trackers to reduce risk. And there are some decent trading strategies too.
This is an excellent book for new investors and also experienced ones. It explains all the things you may not be sure about in the markets and will explain the tools that are there. Naked Trader Seminar Latest News

**** BOOKING FOR FRI NOVEMBER 26TH AT HEATHROW NOW OPEN**
(SEPTEMBER 24TH SEMINAR NOW SOLD OUT - SORRY)
Fancy spending a day with me, learning all the ways I have learned over the years to find good shares and play the markets? Well, you can at one of my seminars!
Booking is still open for the Naked Trader seminar on Friday Nov 26th.

Price is £495 plus vat. However right now there is a generous early bookers discount!
That includes three course lunch, coffees, snacks etc.
The seminar is mainly aimed at beginners and dabblers though improvers are welcome too.
Topics covered using live market feeds all day include: Market psychology, level 2 - a simple guide to how to use it for better timing; how to value companies; finding companies that are about to rise. I will also cover techniques for handling events such as the recent meltdown and volatility.
Spreadbetting: How to use it to gain an edge and go short. Market makers - how they work and how to beat them; how to stop losing money and make it instead and plenty more.
How to plan trade entries and exits - how to research companies and understand reports, plus all those niggly questions you always wanted to ask. How to set stop losses and targets. Charts and how to use them.
Also covered: Market maker tricks: How to spot tree shakes and use them in your favour, How to tell when NOT to buy a share. I use live ADVFN all day with lots of level 2 and looks at all kind of live market data.
The idea behind the seminar is SIMPLICITY. I don't use jargon or fancy words - everything is in PLAIN ENGLISH! No question is too stupid and the event is held in a friendly relaxed and supportive environment.
The idea is you will come away from the event I hope a wise and better investor with lots of new ideas. I try and translate complex topics into easy bite size pieces. I also aim for it to be entertaining as well as instructive.
If you are interested please e-mail me at robbiethetrader@aol.com with "seminar interested" in the subject line and I will send you full details of the event including comments from those who have come to previous seminars and you can then decide whether you would like to come. See you there!
One seminar attendee Clare wanted to write a testimonial about her experiences at the seminar which follows now!
"I've just come back buzzing from one of Robbie's seminars. What a day! He's just brilliant, and manages to pack an awful lot into one day, and with his enthusiastic and humorous delivery the day just flies by. There are no gimmicks, no sell, no "˜get-rich-quick' promises, just his own solid, sound approach which he has learnt over the years and which works.
He shows you how to minimise the risks and maximise the profits and points out the banana skins on the way. Where the seminar really comes into its own is when he teaches using live level 2. Hearing him talk through his thought processes and reasoning is invaluable, and really brings home everything from the book. He has endless patience answering peoples' questions, and really seems to care that everybody understands.
On top of that, you meet some really nice like minded people and swap e mail addresses, you're plied with
chocolates and coffee all day, have a great lunch and spend the evening getting tiddled with Robbie in the
bar afterwards! You might even get to see the amazing crocodile boots . . . .
Don't worry about the cost, it's easily worth it, and you'll soon make it back with your new-found investment skills, and in what you're no longer losing. If you're thinking of going along to his next seminar, whether you're a novice or an experienced trader, don't hesitate ""just go!
Thanks Clare, did you want the tenner in cash, or will a cheque do?

Still a massive response coming in for the sensational 1 point indices spread offer plus £250 cash back on losses - my mail box continues to be full of enquires - don't miss out!

£100 Tradefair offer

I've started using Tradefair for spreadbetting - I like the auto generated stop losses which help to maintain discipline and that's good for beginners I think. And exclusively for Naked Trader readers they upped the offer to £100 credit.
So there's now a £100 credit on offer for anyone opening an account via me. You get that after 5 spreadbets (terms and conditions apply)

Naked Rambling

It's cuts announcements week.
I think all in all this strange new government appears to be producing some reasonable ways of reducing our debt.
Amazing to think the country is spending £43 bln just to service the debt.
The spending cuts seem about right for now - we can't carry on as if we have an unlimited credit card.
Good to hear that pen-pushing savings across Government will be £6bln rather than the expected £3bln.
Ed Milliband was really poor at PMQs today. You still get the feeling he comes across as a specially bad polytechnic lecturer.
We won't know for a while whether the cuts will work but decisive action is what's needed. There's little point in pussyfooting around the mess left by Labour.
Last Apprentice was another scorcher.
Although the big surprise was Boots actually showing interest in the silly book holder thing.
The ladies really are not doing women in business supporters any favours with all the fighting.
I don't feel the right person was fired - I think they fired the one they thought didn't make good TV. But then again it is really an entertainment show and not a business show so fair enough I guess.
Is it me or is Karen Brady becoming a bit disappointing as the Margaret replacement?
I thought she might come up with interesting business tips but she isn't doing that and there is no entertaining disapproval either.
Lord Sir A continues to enjoy hamming it up.
They say tonight's episode of Mad Men is easily the best ever made. Which, if true means it could be sensational.
I shall be glued to the TV tonight at 9pm BBC1 and at 10am BBC4 !
The X Factor. I just can't be bothered to get caught up in autotune karoake and the manufactured emotional storylines/ and "arguments" between the judges.
I tune in to S Come Dancing to see Ann Widdecome making a right arse of herself. That's definitely entertainment. Must get voting to keep her in.
Wayne Rooney. He gets paid £90,000 a week to not score goals. Is he overrated? I've not seen anything from him that shows he deserves it.
Indeed these crazy payments to people who can kick a ball around continues to amaze. If these clubs were truly run as a business these payments would be 80% lower!
The spreadbetting firm I use for sports betting is here:
Via this link Open a Sporting Index account and there's a £200 total goals offer (Or £100 cash alternative) please check terms and conditions which apply.

http://www.sportingindex.com/?tpid=6755
Do remember if you do bet you ought to treat sports spreadbetting as entertainment - and expect to lose! Also with spreadbetting work out what your max loss could be and make sure you can afford it! In other words if you say backed the favourite at 15 for a fiver and they come nowhere your max loss is £75.

Naked Mail

Matt writes :
Not sure if you realise how great this quote of yours is:-

"...Good poker players are far more likely to make good traders than clever economist or accountants.... They don't realise trading is like a card game, it's you against others. Economics doesn't come into it"¦"

Oscar Wilde would've liked that one for himself. I hope you don't mind, I am now using it along side Warren Buffet's and George W's greatest one liners

Gosh well that's kind of you but I am no Oscar Wilde, or Warren B! I do believe it to be true, however!

Duane writes:
Wanted to say a big thank you to you and Mrs NT for an amazing day of learning and fun at your Septemnber seminar.

The way you explained the share trading from start to finish was understandable and really interesting, well worth the seminar fee!
It was great to hear such down to earth and honest assessment from a successful trader like yourself. The way you explained everything was good revision from your book and gave further insight into successful share trading.

I particularly liked your live trades and going through your accounts when you gave snippets of why you invested in certain shares and why you kept/dumped them. Also helpful was the way you searched for prospective shares and within minutes discounted them or put them on a short list for further examination and correct entry points. Amazing!
You could really tell that you loved doing what you do and your energy levels to keep going till 10pm was well....... I had to leave at 9pm I was shattered!

Thanks again Robbie I am keen to put into practice what you have taught me. Even though you make squillions from your trades and I am sure don't need to do the seminars for financial gain, but please keep doing those seminars for newbies like me!

Thanks Duane! Don't expect to be doing them foreever but very rewarding for me to help people so expect to carry on for a while longer.
Mike writes:
I would just like to thank you again for the great time at the follow up seminar and would like to report that thanks to your methods of teaching I have completely changed my investing style and since my first seminar a while back my fund is now nicely up which is a complete turn around from my day trading the FTSE days!

Mike glad to hear of continued success! It does take time to figure out what works for you. Some can make money day trading but it isn't for everyone and investing can be easier for some, including myself.

Terry writes:
Fantastic seminar.

I have always been sceptical of the public testaments you see on web sites
saying how great an event was. Now I'm one of those people!. I
genuinely believe that the tips and techniques as well as the overall
approach you demonstrated will radically improve my trading performance

Thanks Terry, well all the testaments are real but know what you mean and glad you feel it was worth it!
John writes:
Thanks for a great seminar last Friday, everyone I spoke to enjoyed it and marvelled at how you kept going so long; you certainly gave value for money.

If the seminar taught me anything it was how to trade in a more professional and detached manner. I realise up till now I was just playing at it.

Thank you once again for a fantastic day that will remain with me for the rest of my life.

Thanks John, though my wife sometimes complains I go on for too long.....

Markets

Fascinating times. As the FTSE gets closer to that most recent high of around 5,800 so it, and the American markets back off, afraid to go through.
The next few weeks look pretty vital: are the markets about to top out again and go down? Well, a quite easy case could be made for that. Shorts placed around 5700-5800 could pay off.
However another case could be made that every time it tries to slip down support is found. The Chinese put up interest rates, the markets didn't like that.
For now it looks a bit inconclusive and possibly the markets are about right and perhaps we might get a tight sideways move. Who knows? I don't. In the end it's best to follow it rather than try and guess.
I bought 3,000 Zotefoams (ZTF) at 134. I've noticed some buys going in here but interestingly Blackrock, which is pretty sharp has been buying up shares and now over 13%. Looks like they are in the market for more and I think this could push the shares up even further for a potential run up to 180. Looks like the market makers are short of shares because of the Blackrock buying so hopeful for a further push up - target 180 stop 120.
I bought 7,000 shares in Orosur Mining at 49 (OMI) It's not my usual kind of share but it's unusual to be able to put this kind of small mining share into an ISA. Just a bit of a fun gamble as I have no exposure to mining in my Isas and if it doesn't work out I'll cut it fast. Target 100 stop 40. The hackneyed phrase "Not for widows and orphans" obviously applies and as I'm neither and this proves a stinker I can afford the loss. So please don't mail me to tell me this company does not comply with my usual investment rules, I know.
New Brit (NBPO) continues to rise and I bought yet more using my usual build big positions in the big winners strategy getting another 1,000 shares at 670. Target 800 stop 600. Already in profit by over £5,000 with the current positions. The palm oil price continues to rise and the share goes up well.
TT Electronics (TTG) has crossed my radar as it's on a lovely looking run and picked up a £30 spreadbet on the shares at 151. Probably a shorter-term idea this one and with the powerful move up would look to try and take profits around the 200 mark if it gets there. Target 200 stop 140.
I've taken a short (spreadbet in it to fall) in Davis Services Group (DVSG) for a tenner at 421. Two reasons: first it has run up to the 420-430 a number of times and each time fallen back so it looks like this is as far as it goes and secondly it has an enormous debt.
At best Davis Services shares look at the top of where they should be so I'd expect a pullback down to 400, then possible 350. So two targets! If it finds support at 400 I'd take the profit but if it falls through there I'd hold onto the short. If it climbs above 430 ish then I'd take a small loss as that would nix my scenario. Targets 400/350 stop 435.
I've taken part profits in Supergroup - this one has been super but looks like I was getting too greedy in expecting it to get to 1400 so fast. However I have sold only half the spreadbet at 1114 to lock in some great profits of £3,060 by closing out the last position. I continue to hold the other position while it's over a tenner - profits there still over £4,000. Eaga spreadbet went at 101 for a loss of £360 - it turned out a rubbish trade that hasn't looked convincing since I bought and was stopped out just after the chancellor mentioned Warm Front, one of its contracts and it began to fall.
Sporting Bet fell though the stop and with level 2 looking weak too, sell decision easy to make and it went at 69 for a loss of £450. However I think I'll get that back with the right timing! As usual happy to take losses of £500 or less and profits of £1,000 or more! Andor top up went at 344 for a profit of £360. I held onto that topup one for too long as it went down. However, I still hold onto the long term holding in my pension where I have still doubled and a half. I got taken out of half my Ocado short as I'd raised the stop loss on half of it and got cut out automatically as it rose at 132 for a profit of £600. However a much wider stop on the other half which I continue to hold. If it rises much more I'll probably add more of a short again as I think the recent rise is shorters taking profits rather than anything good in the business.
Right so profits minus losses of all closed trades work out at a profit locked in for the website of £3,210.
Elsewhere the nice rises continue in some, others are staying even and nothing much falling for now anyway and everything sitting in profit.
Joint star awards go this week to Yule Catto and Volex, lovely rises for both. Bid rumours seem to be swirling around Yule. Who knows it could come to nothing but little matter as the figures are good anyway and it seems to be still undervalued compared to peers. I'll carry on holding and see what happens. It went un to 275 on bid rumours but is back to 260. But still massive profits for me.
Volex has stormed right through 300 and up to 320. Profits up and over £10,000 on what one, a lovely one.
Promeathean has been relieved of yellow card status as it rises back up and sits in profit. Nice rise for Kentz today.
Entertainment One continues a nice slow march upwards. Recent spreadbet buy Hikma is going nicely already. 4imprint has a good sprint up but fell back again to support levels.
Savills short is back to where I sold after being in profit so a close eye on that one. However the Galliford short goes well.
E2V produced a very powerful ahead of statement and once profit takers are out of the way I hope for this one to power on and upwards through 100p. However for now 100p looks a barrier.
Xp Power consolidates its recent big gains I bought this one at 164 a year and a half ago and it's now around a tenner with a profit of £13,000 plus. It goes to show if you can hold the good ones for a bit and resist the take profits temptation it can pay off big time!
Carclo looks very strong pushing up over 180. If its new technology proves a winner I would expect a big leap over 200.
Recent top up Alternative Network is beginning to move up again and looks worth at least another 40p in my view. And that's without the bid potential where I see take out as high as 300p.
Microgen continues to look exciting and having doubled now hoping for the treble and it doesn't look far off - if as I suspect it will carry on being re rated as a tech stock it should head up to at least 120.
African Aura has rocketed this week there was a bit of a shake but is on the way back and a quick star performer! Decent announcements keep coming. Photo Me continues a brilliant run - looks like it will shortly be a doubler - it's not sure currently in the 70s so it might take a while before a possible next step up. Some buying in there today.
Recent buy The Vitec Group has managed to break up a bit. Patience should pay off! Gone ex dividend so a payment coming too. Pushing 500 at the moment and looks like it might get through but proving a tough nut to crack.
Recent top up Alterian is having a good go at holding above 200 and some nice buying there.
IG has risen nicely recently.. Devro has come back a bit, not sure why but I remain a holder.
.Lovely Petrofac has surged again today after a bullish broker note and now tries for 1500! Together with spinoff Enquest sees me sitting on profits way in excess of £25,000. Of course it's volatile but a strong uptrend remains intact.
Hyder climbs again after its excellent statement. - a bid still looks like it's in there for nothing!
Aggreko has shot up again this week.. Some bid rumours have been floating about in the papers but who knows? Spirent has doubled for me and there recent top up is in profit. It goes higher today after a broker upgrade.
The AA has raised its bid for Nestor to 100p - Nestor appear to be playing this very well! They now say kind of grudgingly that they will meet the AA again to discuss but 100p still undervalues the company. Looks like some good negotiating going on there - if I was going to bet on it I reckon they'll get it to 110p. Which is just fine. My profits currently are well over £20,000. Worth holding to see what happens.
Mulberry continues to rocket after results with the spreadbet up nearly £5,000 now - indeed it has doubled and with Mrs NT and friends continuing to buy their handbags and boots there I continue to hold! So thanks again for this one to Mrs NT for Mulberry bags and boots appearing at home was a big buy signal and B) - thanks to the ladies at the July seminar for agreeing Mulberry was the hot place for the ladies to be.
I've been getting e-mails regarding my use of direct market access and who I use. I've tried a few and for me the easiest system for me is here:
http://www.igmarkets.co.uk/?QPID=1079&QPPID=1
Direct market access means you can place orders directly onto the order book bypassing brokers and market-makers with a chance to buy at the "sell" price. I would suggest you ensure you know what you're doing first but IG does provide much education with its "tradesense" educational tool which comes with it.
I also use its spreadbetting service too along with other firms like Tradefair because it now provides trailing stops which to me is a pretty sensible way of trading. Link is here: -
http://www.igindex.co.uk/?QPID=1078&QPPID=1
that also includes a pretty decent educational programme. As usual before opening accounts please read all the warnings on the sites. You can lose a lot of money if you're not careful so pay close attention to them and make sure you always understand what you are doing and what your potential losses are.

£100 Tradefair offer

I've also started using Tradefair for spreadbetting - I like the auto generated stop losses which help to maintain discipline and that's good for beginners I think. And exclusively for Naked Trader readers they upped the offer to £100 credit.
So there's now a £100 credit on offer for anyone opening an account via me. You get that after 5 spreadbets (terms and conditions apply).

Telecom Plus Offer

Want to quit the rat race? Try and start a new source of income so one day you can tell the boss to stuff it? You could do what I did to escape my grotty office job and become an independent distributor for the Utilities Discount Warehouse.
You get to sell great broadband, phone packages and energy to friends, relatives, contacts and anyone else you find and you get cash for each sale but more importantly you get a cut of their spend EVERY MONTH for as long as they are a customer!
It's called residual income and is a far better way to enjoy a ripe old age than relying on a pension. Because even after you stop selling the money STILL comes in!
I still get paid EVERY MONTH for sales I made back in 1999! Every time a customer uses broadband or the phone or switches on a light you get paid.
It's a great business and backed by a stock market company (Telecom Plus), a dedicated team of advisors.. and me to help you on your way!
Not only do you get paid out every month for each customer you can take on distributors. encourage them like I do and get paid on their sales as well.
One day, say you could made redundant, needed a year off or wanted to retire early can you imagine what joy it is to have the regular income coming in. It's wonderful.
You have to work at it, but if you do genuine repeat wealth could be yours. I did it. You can too. For full details, why not email me at robbiethetrader@aol.com.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time.
Trades first reported Weds and Fri afternoons under "Markets" section.. afraid I can't do live trades as that would turn me into a tipster and I'd have to be regulated!
